Richest Mogul 1235

Chapter 1235

Skylar teased, “Do you think your fiancé would be hurt to hear that?”

Minerva chuckled. “He probably would. By the way, I have a gift for you.”

“A gift?” Skylar was intrigued that Minerva had found time to get her something amidst her busy schedule.

Minerva pulled a book out of her bag. It was clear the book had some age to it, wrapped in a protective cover.

“A book?” Skylar was surprised.

“This is something I brought back from abroad. It got shipped with my other suitcases, and I completely forgot about it until I was unpacking yesterday. I found it in a bookstore while I was overseas. This book contains descriptions and records about some negative items.

“I asked the shopkeeper about it, and she said some of the books were sold to her in bulk. They were all second–hand books. Since they were written in Clusianese and focused on antiques, many people lost interest. That’s how I ended up finding it.”

As Minerva explained the book’s origins, Skylar began flipping through its pages. The detailed accounts of some negative items inside left her astonished.

Over the years, she had searched various libraries and second–hand bookstores but had never come across anything related to negative items. She couldn’t believe Minerva had found such a rare book.

“This is fantastic! Minerva, you’re amazing!” The book contained methods for creating negative items and identifying them.

While the identification methods were thorough, they only applied after something had gone

wrong.

Overall, the book emphasized one key point, which was willpower.

Those with weak willpower were the most susceptible to being influenced by negative items. No one was perfect. Those who were driven by greed and desire were the ones most easily lost. Seeing how absorbed Skylar was in the book, Minerva decided not to interrupt her. Remembering Skylar’s favorite foods, she went ahead and placed their lunch order quickly.

She quietly enjoyed the moment as Skylar focused intently on the book. She initially tri read the book when she first saw it.

However, for some reason, after just two pages, she felt drowsy and couldn’t focus no matter how hard she tried.

The next day, she had completely forgotten what she had read. Throughout her life, she had always been a top student, rarely encountering books she couldn’t get into. This was a first for her, and it felt quite strange.

However, since Skylar could handle negative items, this book was only something she could read without feeling drowsy. Instead, she became increasingly engrossed in it, to the point where she forgot she was on a date.

Minerva couldn’t help but chuckle to herself. As she idly gazed out the window, she heard a familiar voice.

A man and a woman were talking.

“Mr. Jakeman, this Wiscadian restaurant is said to be the best in Jipsburg City. I’ve never been here before,” a young female college student, Eva Romero, said, gazing at Rowan with admiration.

The girls around her all wished to meet someone like Rowan, a trust fund baby who could introduce them to all sorts of new experiences and lavish sights they had never encountered before.

Rowan listened to Eva with a neutral expression, revealing no discernible emotions. He merely responded softly, “Yes, it really is good.” novelbin

Eva didn’t mind Rowan’s cold attitude. To her, a man like him surely had his own character. She immediately flashed a bright smile and asked, “Mr. Jakeman, after dinner, can we go to the hot spring resort for a couple of days?”

“Mr. Jakeman?”

Seeing that he hadn’t answered, Eva followed his gaze to see what had captured his attention.

When she noticed that Rowan was staring at a woman who was incredibly gentle, beautiful, and exuded a unique charm, she was stunned.

“Mr. Jakeman?” she called out again.
