Chapter 766
Paul stood there, dumbfounded. “Fine, if you didn’t get it, then forget I said anything.”
He waved his hand dismissively, signaling the end of the conversation.
Paul thought Jenny was overly confident, believing herself so clever that no one could see through her intentions.
Jenny stood there, her face pale and her tears long since dried.
Joe had already driven off.
Joe had recommended that she focus on learning and improving her job skills. Jenny couldn’t help but wonder if she truly lacked abilities, considering how she had managed to get into Martin Group in the first place.
Her skills might not rival Paul’s, but they were still noteworthy. Joe simply didn’t see her potential.
“Is Skylar the only one you care about now?” Jenny’s voice dripped with bitterness.
But it wasn’t just Skylar–Vera had also returned. Another wave of jealousy surged through Jenny. Everyone else seemed to have a place in Joe’s life, while she felt left out. However, she refused to accept being sidelined.
Just then, her phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, Jenny’s demeanor changed instantly. It was Molly.
“Mrs. Martin,” Jenny answered with a respectful tone.
“Did you deliver the pen I asked you to give Joe?” Molly didn’t bother with
pleasantries, getting straight to the point.
“Yes, I placed it on Joe’s desk a few days ago,” Jenny replied.
“Good. You’ve done well, Jenny. I’ve always had a high opinion of you, and Joe’s
father is also very pleased. Do you have time today? Come over for dinner,” Molly’s voice softened, speaking like a kind and caring elder.
When an elder extended an invitation, it was impossible to refuse.
Jenny was quick to respond. She didn’t want to upset Molly. “Of course, Mrs. Martin. I just finished work. I’ll head over right away.”
The last time she met Edwin and Molly, Jenny sensed their dislike for Skylar. Now that they trusted her enough to invite her to dinner, she knew she had a real opportunity. She wasn’t concerned about Vera or Skylar.
After Molly hung up, she instructed the household staff to prepare dinner and then went upstairs. She knocked a few times before entering.
“Jenny will be here shortly,” she informed Edvin.
Edwin looked up, a spark of anticipation in his eyes. “Good, make sure everything is
set.”
Molly hesitated, feeling uneasy. “Are you sure about this, darling?”
She had known about Edwin’s past relationships but had chosen to ignore them. It was easier to pretend they didn’t exist. However, Edwin’s planning to entertain women at home this time made her uneasy.
Edwin’s expression darkened. “Sure about what?”
young. Plus,
“She’s a girl your son raised. She just graduated from college and is still she’s clearly in love with Joe. If things-” Molly trailed off, struggling to find the right words.
Edwin interrupted impatiently, “Enough. No need to discuss it further. There’s no room for negotiation. Don’t let anything go wrong.”
“Alright,” Molly sighed.
Skylar and Joe arrived at Yancey Residence.
Janine was sitting on the couch, watching TV.
“Steven and Charles came by in the afternoon. They bought a lot of groceries and cooked several dishes before they left. All you need to do is heat them up,” Janine said as they entered and changed into their slippers. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Skylar responded with a smile, saying, “Okay.”
Then, she went directly to the kitchen. The kitchen counter was filled with several dishes made by Steven. They only needed to be warmed in the microwave before
eating.
Joe followed her into the kitchen.
“How do we heat this? I’ll handle it,” Joe offered.
He glanced at the microwave. He had never used one before and wasn’t sure how it
worked.
Skylar chuckled. “No need. I’ll take care of it. This is an old model microwave, and I’m
used to it.’

Once they moved to their new house, they would have brand–new appliances, which would be easier to use.
