Richest Mogul

Chapter 743

Skylar placed her hand on the caligraphed quote. The history of the artifact came alive in her mind.

It was a simple word–belief. However, it scrambled people’s brains. Ultimately, they sunk into a world of their imagination, not knowing the difference between reality and dreams.

Whether they had been an emperor or a knight, the possessors of this canvas ended up with their sanity in shambles.

Rowan’s expression changed. He exclaimed, “What?”

Jeremiah was horrified. He asked, “That serious?”

“Dad, hadn’t you heard what happened to Mr. Solarius Senior and Mr. Doherty Senior? Many of their family members had died! You should’ve heard about

this from Mr. Gardner Senior!”

Rowan was afraid Jeremiah wouldn’t believe in Skylar. If he refused to trust her, their family would be screwed! Rowan wasn’t capable enough to manage their assets yet!

“Stop talking. I want to hear what Skylar has to say.”

The astonishment on his face hadn’t receded yet. He had heard of what had happened. However, he believed he hadn’t fallen for it since it had not

happened to him. Did he fall into a trap unknowingly?

Rowan said nothing more. He waited for Skylar to speak.

“Mr. Jakeman, where did you purchase it? Do you remember who you bought it from?” asked Skylar.

Jeremiah frowned and answered, “I can’t recall. I do remember it was an old- man. Weirdly enough, I can’t seem to remember what he looked like.”

He wasn’t old enough for memory loss. He could remember everything that he needed to manage the company. However, when prompted by Skylar, he realized he couldn’t recall the person’s face. This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.

Skylar’s expression was grim as she said, “Recently, negative items like this

have been popping up throughout Jipsburg. It has hurt multiple people. I believe they’re from the same person.”

“How dare they scheme against me? I’ll send people to seek them out,” roared Jeremiah furiously.

“It would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Mr. Jakeman, just burn this canvas,” said Skylar.

She would destroy artifacts like this on sight. There was no way she would give them the chance to hurt others..

Skylar didn’t know how Viola handled negative items like these. For her, she would destroy it.

“Will burning it do the job?” asked Jeremiah.

Rowan was terrified that Jeremiah would regret it. He proposed, “I’ll burn it!”

“Burn it at noon on the dot,” advised Skylar.

Jeremiah looked rather pale. He stared at Rowan with the relief of narrowly escaping death. Rowan was taking it down. He said, “You’ve done something/ right for once. If more time had passed, the consequences would be dire.”

Rowan was speechless for a moment before he said, “Dad, have Skylar examine the artifacts you’ve bought from overseas. any of them end up being negative items, what will happen to Mom and me?”

Rowan would like to have fun for a few more years.

“This is the only thing I’ve gotten overseas recently. I didn’t purchase anything else.”

Jeremiah complained internally about why Rowan was so unlike him. He had no àmbitions and did nothing other than laze around every day, which frustrated Jeremiah immensely.

After Rowan burned the calligraphed quote and sent her off, Skylar realized that lunchtime had rolled around. She was hungry and agreed to Rowan’s invitation to eat at a nearby restaurant.

“I’ve told Joe I’ll be treating you to lunch,” explained Rowan.

He was scared Skylar would be stressed out while they ate together.

He’d also asked Joe secretly how much he needed to pay Skylar. After all, who knew what horrors would befall his family if she hadn’t stepped in?

When Skylar heard Joe’s name, she forced a small smile and nodded.

Suddenly, Vera walked over.

She seemed extremely surprised. She stared at them and said, “You guys…”
