Revenge After rebirth (Mayra and Anderson)

Revenge 154

Revenge 154

50–year–old Anderson dug up a body that had long since decayed into a skeleton. Holding the bones, his eyes revealed sadness, regret, guilt, and fear.

How could he feel those emotions?

It was just a dream.

Mayra once thought Anderson liked her.

Thinking back now, she was the one he found most disposable. She wasn’t even worth mentioning, and she could be easily discarded by him. Compared to his sister, Mayra felt more like a pet he kept by his side.

When he wanted to be good to her, he could take the moon down from the sky and give it to her. When he was angry or if she crossed his line, he would mercilessly abandon her.

When the orphanage fire took place when she was five years old, Anderson never wanted her in the first place.

No matter what, she had to leave Anderson and the Barlow family.

The next morning, Mayra slept in late. She had forgotten to charge her phone, and without an alarm, she slept until noon.

She only charged her phone when she woke up, which was exactly noon.

The doorbell rang just as she finished washing up.

Mayra walked out of the bathroom while tying up her hair. Opening the door, she saw Shane.

“Ms. Sadler, Mr. Barlow is waiting for you to have lunch on the third floor.”

After tying up her long hair, Mayra poured herself a glass of water. “Got it. I’ll go down in a bit.”

Mayra went to the luxurious restaurant on the third floor where she was led to a privately reserved open- air terrace. The waiter brought over a heavy menu, and Mayra flipped through it.

The waiter said, “Ms. Sadler, Mr. Barlow asked you to order first. He’ll be here shortly.”

Mayra asked, “What is he doing?”

“Mr. Barlow is playing golf with some clients. He should be done in about half an hour. You can start eating first once the dishes are served, Ms. Sadler.”

Sitting in a wicker chair, Mayra raised her eyes and looked not far away.

She saw a familiar man in dark–colored sportswear. He was tall and conspicuous. He was holding a tall, pretty young lady and guiding her in swinging a golf club.

It was not unusual for Anderson to play golf with a girl, but Mayra didn’t expect the girl in his arms to be Serena, the one who approached her in school the last time.

Scoring a hole–in–one, Anderson displayed a professional level of skill.

Around him were several people of similar age who were cheering him on. They were probably his business partners.

They were on the lawn not far away, and their voices could faintly be heard. They were just crowding

around Anderson and flattering him.

There were many girls like Serena, dressed in high–end branded sportswear and wearing sunhats with their hair in a ponytail. They looked youthful and energetic.

Most of the caddies on the golf course looked like that,

With a big height difference, Serena had to look up at Anderson. She appeared shy, and her eyes were full of admiration for him.

Mayra indeed admired her. Serena had wanted to use her to get to know Anderson, but in just a few short days, she was playing golf with Anderson.

“Mr. Barlow, it’s truly an honor to be guided by you. That was a beautiful shot. It’s almost lunchtime. How about I treat you to a meal?”

“Treat me to a meal? Do you know who I am?”

Serena looked at Anderson innocently. “Aren’t you Mr. Barlow?” Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

Anderson handed his golf club over to someone who immediately took it.

Mayra casually retracted her gaze and continued to order a few specialty dishes from Candor City. After ordering, she turned on her phone.

There was a message from Gordon that read, “Why didn’t you go to school? Are you sick?”

After so many days, he had only sent one message, and it was from the day before.
