Jacob's pupils locked onto Avery's clear eyes, as he tried to see through her thoughts from her face.
"What do you really want?"
Avery now was too unusual, and he had no idea what she was plotting.

Avery gently tugged at his sleeve; her voice muffled as it came from his embrace. "Is it possible?"
"Just like this?" Jacob's throat tightened, unsure of what to say at this moment.
"Or what? Or are you willing to let me go live in another city?"
Jacob coldly gripped her waist. "Don't even think about it."
Avery smiled bitterly in his arms. He had said long ago that even if she were to die, she would only die
by his side.
She closed her eyes.

Avery raised her head and smiled at him, "Have you eaten enough? Do you want to eat a little more?"
"No need; you should go back and rest."
Avery broke free from his embrace with a serious expression. "How can that be? From now on, I will be
your secretary. I have to adapt to your rhythm in advance."
Jacob glanced at her deeply, and Avery looked serious. He couldn't find any flaws.

After saying that, he returned to his seat, while Avery was tidying up the food boxes on the side.
Out of the corner of her eye, Avery saw him make a phone call, and soon, John came in and stood
respectfully to the side.
"Mr. Hill, Mrs. Hill."
"She will be my personal assistant from now on. You arrange it."
In John's astonishment, Avery smiled slightly and said, "Thank you, John. I hope you will keep my
identity a secret."
"Yes, Mrs. Hill."
"I'm afraid you'll have to change that address."
John and Jacob locked eyes, and Jacob nodded at him.
"Yes, then excuse me, Miss Adams, please follow me."

control in John's absence.

like a soldier.

Asher introduced the others, "This is James, Orion Everly, and Cassius Everly."
Before coming here, Avery already had some understanding that James and Asher were brothers,
while Orion and Cassius were cousins.
Asher's hand fell on the last two female assistants. "This is Juniper, and this is Calliope."
"Hello, everyone. My name is Avery. Please take care of me from now on."
Avery introduced herself graciously, but her eyes closely observed the expressions on each person's
face.
