Chapter 18 

glaring at Aurots with tears of age 

Lance and Keena were looking down at her with a sarcastic smile, 

Jared wasn’t even paying any attention to her. He was gazing towards the waterfall 

Chloe felt utterly humiliated. 

She looked over to Damien and begged: 

“Alpha… 

Damien frowned, an unreadable look on his face. 

With a shaky hand, Chloe grabbed his pants. She straightened her upper body and sobbed, “Alpha, please…I really can’t walk on the ground like this. It is so muddy and rocky. You know how delicate my feet are…” 

Rivena let out snort loud enough for everyone to hear, “Delicate my ass! Why don’t you just stay inside then?” 

Chloe pretended she didn’t hear Rivena’s sarcasm. 

She kept staring Damien and said in a voice that only the two of them could hear: 

*Please Alpha…Do you still remember the year when we were 12…in the forest?” 

Damien’s body suddenly became tense. 

12 years old. 

Forest. 

Those words triggered his memory from the past. 

He was 12 years old at the time. And it was winter. He ran deep into the forest without telling anybody and got lost there. 

He passed out on the snowy ground. Cold and starving. He thought he was about to die. 

Yet when he woke up, he found himself back home already with Chloe by his side. That was how the two of them met.

Damien was forced to make Aurora his Luna because of their mate–bond. But he had never forgot what Chloe did- how she carried him back from the forest on her bare feet. 

So, Chloe wasn’t just being delicate; she couldn’t walk because of those old injuries–injuries that she got because 

of him. 

Being reminded of that, Damien’s stern face softened. 

He crouched down in front of Chloe and said: 

“Climb up here.” 

A bright smile appeared on Chloe’s face. 

She quickly climbed onto Damien’s back and wrapped her arms around his neck. 

“Damien, you are the best. I love you,” she whispered softly into his ears. 

When they walked pass by Aurora, Chloe purposely threw a condescending look at Aurora. 

Aurora withdrew her eyes from them. 

She knew that Damien would soften up. 

He always chose to be on Chloe’s side, even though most of the time Chloe was the one at fault. 

He was simply that biased. 

Aurora snorted internally as a bitter smile played on her lips. 

Whatever. 

She didn’t care anymore.

Her feeling towards Damien died 6 months when he rejected her. 

“Let’s go. 

She smiled at Jared and walked down the path. 

2 hours later, they finally arrived at the Great Waterfall. 

This was the most famous tourist site in Ever Moon Pack. Many people hiked 5-6 hours just to be here to observe the majestic waterfall. 

As Aurora’s group approached the waterfall, they are greeted by the gentle murmur of cascading water that trickled down the rocks. 

Though not towering, one can still feel the power of the waterfall. The water splashed and bounced on the rocks below, throwing refreshing droplets in the air as it danced its way downstream. 

Everyone was taken aback by the great power of the nature. 

Even Chloe let out a small gasp of astonishment. 

“Feel the air!” 

Jared spread his arms and took a deep breath of the refreshing cool breeze, “I could just live here the whole summer!” 

“Not only the summer. This is a great place to come to during the winter,” Aurora said with a faint smile. 

When she was first brough back to Ever Moon Pack, she couldn’t cope with her lost. So she would spent hours hiking in the mountains and camped out in the wildness to spend the night. 

It was with the loud splashing sound of water that she could finally find some sleeps. 

She was really at a lost that time… 

Jared tilted his head and noticed a fleeting sadness in Aurora’s eyes. 

He stared at her for a short moment and raised his volume speaking in a joyful tone: 

“Do you know what we should all do?” 

Aurora raised an eyebrow, “What?” 

“Cliff diving!” 

Everyone seemed intrigued, except for Chloe.

Chloe’s face turned pale immediately after she head about Jared’s suggestion. 

“What? Are you crazy?” She blurted out, panicked. “The cliff must be like 100 feet high!!” 

Jared turned around and gave her an amused look, “What about it? You are a werewolf. You can’t be afraid of a little height like this. Don’t you have diving training when you were little?” 

“Look at the kid over there,” Rivena added coolly and pointed a short distance away. “Even little kids like them aren’t afraid.” 

Everybody looked at that direction. 

There was indeed a group of 8 or 9 years old gleefully jumping off the cliff and diving into the water. 

Their loud laughter echoed in the valley. 

Rivena stared at Chloe’s pale face and sneered, “Is a grownup from Silver Blade Pack more cowardly than our little kid?” 

Chloe gritted her teeth and peeked at the cliff. 

She quickly brought her gaze back in fear. 

No…it was too high! She couldn’t! 

When Damien brought her back from the orphanage to his palace, he enrolled her in all kinds of classes. He wanted her to have the full upper–class experience. 

Yet those classes and trainings bored her. The only thing that she was interested in was Damien. Those flower- arrangement class, wine–tasting class, horseback riding class…Those were all a waste of her time! 

So she skipped all those classes and trainings. But she still needed good grades because she didn’t want Damien to find out that she was a useless idiot. 

So she forced other girls in the same class to fill her in. Even Aurora had taken classes for her once. 

As long as she was Damien’s loved one, she would never have to do anything hard or exhausting her whole life!. 

Yet never had she ever foresee a day like this, when she was forced to dive with Aurora and Damien! 

If Damien found out that she couldn’t dive, would he suspect that she didn’t get those good grades herself? 

While Chloe was busy panicking, Jared had pulled his shirt off and came to the edge of the cliff. 

“I will take the lead. You guys catch up!” he yelled joyfully.

Chapte 15 

Spreading his arms wide open, Jared jumped off the cliff and dived directly into the water, making a small splash 

as he landed. 

Seconds later, he swam back to the surface and waved at them yelling: 

“That was fantastic! You guys–COME ON-!” 

“NO!!!!” 

Chloe shook her head frantically, stepping back, crying: 

“That guy is insane! You are not seriously following him-” 

She looked to others for support. 

Yet to her shock, the rest of the group was undressing themselves already. 

“It sounds like fun.” 

Aurora stretched her arms a little and walked to the edge. 

She had dived before. But 100 feet high was no doubt a new challenge for her. 

“Are you afraid?” a voice suddenly came from her side. 

Aurora looked back and found Damien staring at her closely. 

He had taken off his T–shirt and was only dressed in a sport short right now. 

His muscular chest, broad shoulder and perfectly tanned skin could easily make any girl faint over excitement. 

Aurora felt her check flaming and quickly looked away, pretending that she didn’t just got dazzled by his handsomeness. 

“Don’t be ridiculous. I’m not Chloe.” She said. 

“Is that so?” Damien’s hoarse voice came a little closer, his hot breath spreading on her neck. “Then why do you seem edgy now?” 

“I am not-

He smiled, his gorgeous eyes gleaming under the golden sunshine.

Chapter 18 

MON, 22 JU 

“1-2–Jump!” 

Holding hands tighter, they jumped. 

They drew a beautiful curve in the sky and dived into water together. 

Up on the cliff, Chloe let out a sharp cry and rushed to edge, “NO! Damien-” 

She couldn’t believe this! 

Why was Damien holding Aurora’s hand? He should be disgusted of her! 

And how could Damien jump with Aurora and left her here? He knew she was afraid of the height! 

“Looks like there are only the three of us left.” 

Chloe slowly turned her back and found Lance and Rivena grinning at her. 

“Do you want to go first?” 

There was a crocked smile on Rivena’s lips as she closed in upon Chloe. 

“I can give you a little nudge if you like,” Rivena chuckled.
