Adia sat in front of her dressing mirror as she combed her hair. It’s already seven in the evening and Sebastian was not yet back, though he usually comes very late the other nights. This was different, it’s raining so heavily and she really wants to be with him.
She dropped her comb on the table, as she stood up walking to the closet to grab a sweater, which she wore. She walked out of the room, not feeling sleepy at all, so she decided to take a stroll round.
She was walking down the stairs, when she heard noises, which seemed to be coming from the dining room, she walked there to see Eloise and Monica chatting.
“Adia..” Eloise called loudly on sighting Adia.
“What are you guys doing out here?” Adia questioned, sitting on one of the chairs.
“Eloise was not feeling sleepy at all, so she dragged me down here to stay with her, what about you?” Monica asked,Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
“Same thing, I don’t feel like sleeping at all..” Adia responded,
“Do you want some fruit?” Monica asked as Adia shook her head.
“I’ll peel an apple for you..” she says, picking up an apple and a knife.
“So Adia…” Eloise began stuffing chips into her mouth.
“Hmm…” responded Adia, as Monica gave her some apples.
“What have you decided to name your babies, hmmm, tell me…” Eloise tugged her shoulder playfully, as Adia smiled, eating the apples Monica gave her.
“Honestly, I have no idea..”
“What!!” Eloise squealed in surprise,
“You’ve got to be kidding me?” She chuckled,
“No, I’m serious, I’ve been wanting to talk to Seb about it, but he’s always busy you know…” she said sadly, the other day she still wasn’t even to speak with him, he returned late, and the next day he had already zoomed off.
“Come to think of it…” Adia began as she called,
“Monica”
“Yes”
“Do you have any idea about what the elders said at the meeting the other day?” She asked, Monica had said it was about her babies, but Sebastian didn’t give her an answer to that either, he has been keeping her in the dark.
“Not at all, I only know a little…”
“I think it has something to do with your babies being hybrid…” she informed,
“But it’s been sorted out, you should ask your husband, he’ll give you a better explanation…”
“But he’s always so busy…” she pouted sadly, they no longer talk like before.
“He’s trying to set things straight Adia, you’re already due you know…” there’s a big problem at hand, maybe that’s why he’s always running around, not only him, but mostly everyone in this house is trying to find a solution before it’s too late.
“I still feel he should tell me, besides I feel much better than before, and I’m sure he hasn’t even noticed that…” Adia bit her lips as Monica took a good look at her.
“That’s true Adia, are you taking a new medicine?” She asked, squinting her eyes at Adia.
“No, I’ve not changed my prescription..” she replied, taking a bite off the apple in her hand.
“Why did you ask?”
“This is strange…” Monica pursed her lips, and Eloise who had been quiet the whole time looked up.
“Why?”
“You’re in your due month, but you look just fine, you know, you’re supposed to be…” Monica stammered, apparently Adia is supposed to be in a lot of pain, but she’s not, which is very, very strange, she looks fine, even better than the last time she fainted, naturally her condition is supposed to have already gone worse.
“I know right..” Adia voiced out,
“I’m quite surprised, so I came to the conclusion that a miracle might be taking place..”
“I feel a lot better than before, and I don’t feel pain anymore, like before, you know what?” Adia began in whispers,
“What?”
“I missed my dose two days ago, and nothing happened…” she said,
“You what!!” Monica yelled, standing up from her seat.
“How can you miss your dose?” She exclaimed in horror,
“Like I told you I feel better..”
“But Adia…”
“Shh, Monica, Sebastian should not know of this, he’ll be very angry at me, so quiet down..” she placed her index finger on her lips, dragging Monica to sit.
“I’m worried Adia”
“No need to be worried, I’m perfectly fine and agile..” she smiled widely.
“Sometimes I think it’s because of the milk Eloise has been making for me…” Adia began, as both Monica and Elise stated at her.
“What milk?” Monica asked in confusion,
“Oh, Eloise has been making me milk every morning, and strangely, I’ve been feeling much better since the first day I took it…” she said meaningfully, as Eloise gulped loudly, praying Monica doesn’t question her.
“So you’re saying…” a noise came from outside, as they all turned at the same time.
“Seb..” Adia muttered seeing Seb walk in, she’s finally caught him today, there’s no escaping her tonight, he’ll tell her everything he’s been hiding from her.
She stood up, but Sebastian had already leaped to where she was as he held her.
“Why are you not in your room?” He questioned,
“I was waiting for you,” she replied,
“Who told you to wait?”
“It’s raining, so I decided to wait for you, I was worried about you…” she confessed,
“Worry about yourself Adia…”
“Come on let’s go upstairs…” he held her hands,
“Where are the rest?” She questioned,
“On their way…” came how curt reply,
“Where are you taking her son, allow me to say hi to my daughter In law…” Moreau’s voice was heard, as he leaped down from the balcony.
“It’s late, you can say hi tomorrow, let’s go…” he beckoned to Adia.
“Stop being so harsh on her son, it’s obvious she doesn’t…” his voice trailed off as his eyes settled on Eloise.
His pupils dilated, the moment he saw her.
“Estelle…” he muttered to himself, as he sped to where Eloise sat, standing beside her, Eloise gasped standing up in fear.
“Who’s she?” He asked with furrowed brows, as he clasped his hand on her arm,
“Ask her yourself..” Sebastian snapped,
“What’s he doing?” Adia whispered to Sebastian,
“I don’t know, he’s probably curious about her” he replied,
“He should not hurt her..” she said, a little scared for Eloise.
“He won’t..” Sebastian assured,
“Hmmm. ..” Moreau’s lips curved up, as he stared intently at a whimpering Eloise.
“I can’t believe my sons can be so stupid..” he chuckled, tightening his grip on Eloise.
“This is a witch, son…” those words rolled out of his tongue as everyone stilled.
