“Evans, take Cora home…” he added as Evans walked up to Cora, who was sobbing quietly as he led her out.

“You too Ace, I’ll send for you later..”

“Sure..” Ace muttered walking away into one of the rooms.

“You too” he pointed at Monica who also left, sobbing as well.

“I was not done, why did you send them away?” Adia snapped at him angrily, but he ignored her and just went back to his seat majestically,

“Because I don’t want a situation where you’ll lose your tongue for blabbing too much, ” he said to her,

“Lose my tongue…” she scoffed, placing her hands on both sides of her waist.

“Why did you lie to me?” She couldn’t help but ask, the fact that they’ve all been deceiving her, keeps on annoying and irritating her.

“I only did the needful, it was all for your own good, like what Arion said, your health will only deteriorate..” he explained, it was all done, so that she would think less, like who in their right senses would be happy if they’re dying soon, so whilst they tried finding a solution for this, it was better to let her out of all of it.

“So I’m really going to die..” she choked out in tears,

“Yes Adia…” he confirmed, there was no need in beating about the bush any longer, the deed has already been done, they’ll just have to face reality,

“So you’re just going to let me die.. just like that?” She asked in tears,

“No Adia, I’m trying to find a solution for you to live, the truth is that everything about you is complicated, it just keeps wearing me out..” Sebastian confessed, creasing his brows.

“You’re just like a mystery, I mean we just had sex once, and that got you pregnant, whereas, it takes a lot of time before a vampire reproduces…” he said, vampires hardly reproduce, that’s why even after living for such a long time, his father has just three children.

“Then all of a sudden, you just became pregnant, look Adia I’ve had sex with countless humans before I met you, and trust me, none of them got pregnant, don’t even talk about protection, I don’t use that…” he said loud enough to her hearing, he has lived for centuries, he’s old enough to know how vampires works, he has had sex with many women before, and doesn’t even bother to use protection, especially with the humans, because it’s hard before they get pregnant, but him and Adia, did it just once, and boom….. she’s pregnant.

“But it was just a night, we spent only one night together, and that got you pregnant…”

“Not only that, you look a lot like Aisling, my first love, at a first glance one would think you’re her, but I knew Aisling well enough to know you’re not her, the problem here is how you look just like her, how is that even possible, I’ve looked into your family countless times, thinking maybe there might be something linking you to Aisling, probably we can save you with that, but nothing, your past generation has nothing to do with Aisling or even vampires, then how do you look so much like her?” He reasoned out,

“Then that brings us to the compelling part, you can’t be compelled Adia, that has also given me sleepless nights, you’re purely human, but how come you can’t be compelled, you’re not a witch, you have no trace of magic in you, I’ve tried looking for any trace of magic in you, hopefully I can save you with that, but nothing, you’re not a witch, neither do you have magic, nor does your family come from line of witches…” he paused,

“I also wonder how vampire blood can’t heal you, if you’re human, vampire blood is meant to heal you, at first I thought it’s because you Carry vampire children, but that’s not the case Adia, now tell me, why all these, hmm?” He questioned her,

“You look like my Ex who’s long gone, you got pregnant from the one night stand we had, just one night, you can’t be compelled, you’re not a witch, you have no magic in you, vampire blood can’t heal you..” he listed our staring intently at her.

“Now tell me Adia, what are you? Aren’t you a mystery that can’t be solved, everything revolving around you is so strange…and the fact none of these things can’t stop your death, angers me a lot, what the hell are you, how did you…”

“Are you seriously asking me that?” She asked him, how does he expect her to know the answer to all that,

“I’m just telling you this so you won’t go about blaming others for your misfortune..” he spat,

“My misfortune..” she repeated in disbelief,

“Yes Adia, your misfortune, it’s not my fault all of these are happening to you, it’s nobody’s fault, so stop playing the victim here, we’re only doing this for your own good..” he said, how he’s still calm after saying all this remains a puzzle to him, he supposed to be calming her down, not adding fuel to the fire, but she has to face reality.

“I’m the fucking victim here, I’m the one dying, not you, and you dare say it’s my misfortune..” she yelled at the top of her voice.

“You’re the cause of my problems, you vampires.. you all are” she voiced out.

“You have to stop talking as if your life was free from problems before I met you, you had problems before we met, and you keep bombarding me with your problems…the truth is that, everyday I’m always worried ..” he confessed,

“Worried about your health, worried about everything concerning you, and it’s all because of your damn problems, they never end..” he stated,

“And that’s because of you vampires, I never get a day of peace, it’s either Kate, or Beau or this one, it’s always a vampire…” she yelled at him, he isn’t even acting sorry or apologizing, he insulating that she’s the cause of his problems, that she’s the problem here.

“Wait Sebastian, do you even feel anything, like does it bother you that I’m dying..?” She questioned,

“Yes, a lot, I spend most of my time looking for means to save you..” he replied truthfully,

“Then what am I to you, what do you take me as Sebastian?” She asked in a low tone.

“You’re just a woman that got pregnant for me, because of a silly mistake of mine, a woman I’m desperately trying to save.. so I wouldn’t live with guilt all my life..” he replied, his words stinging Adia like a thorn.

“Just that?”

“Like that’s what I am to you, a lady you just had sex with.. wow!!” She exclaimed, short of words.

“So my feelings mean nothing to you?”

“No..”came short and concise reply,

“Wow…so I’m just a one night stand lady to you..”

“I’ve told you before Adia, you have to stop whatever feelings you have for me..”

“Shut up..” she muttered loud enough to his hearing.

“You’re such a dick…” she deadpanned walking away.

“Go to hell and I hope you rot there…” she wished him, climbing up the stairs…

“Fuck you .. fuck you…go to hell, go and perish in hell where you belong…fuck you!!!” She cursed, raising her two middle fingers in the air, as she ran to her room in tears, slamming the door behind her.

“Fuck..” Sebastian exclaimed running his hands through his hair, he has messed up big time.

“Damn, that’s minus 50 points…” Ace said from behind him, shaking his head.

“I was not being harsh, she needs to face reality” Sebastian uttered, strangely feeling bad for what he said to her, maybe he went too far.
