Chapter 1484
Chapter 1484
When Yuri heard the voice, she shot Anne a strange look and Anne stood dazedly, seeming more confused than Yuri as she stepped toward the door.
Yuri scowled as facing the door would be dangerous and darted up to pull Anne to the side.
Anne stood by the door and asked, “…Anthony?”
“Yeah.”
Anne eased slightly, but her mind was instantly filled with anger when she pulled the door open.
The man stood within darkness as he stared into Anne’s eyes. He lifted an eyebrow and asked, “Aren’t you going to invite me in?”
Before Anne could say anything, Yuri showed herself and eyed the ‘intruder’ warily.
“This is Anthony Marwood,” Anne introduced.
Instantly comprehending the situation, Yuri said, “I’ll go for a walk. You two go ahead.” She headed outside and disappeared into the darkness.
Anne understood what had prompted Anthony to appear unannounced and mocked, “Here I thought you are a brand new man. You haven’t changed one bit.”
Anthony went inside and approached her without waiting for an invite, his dark eyes trained on her as though he was trying to stare into her soul. “I’m worried about you.”
Anne’s expression darkened as she went into the living room. “I already told you that I will go back after a while. You shouldn’t have come.”
Anthony wrapped his arms around her from behind before pressing his lips against her ear. “Why not? I won’t be a bother, okay?”
Anne bit her lips with a troubled expression.
She had just received a mission of killing Anthony and thought to herself, ‘Will Tianya find out that Anthony is here? What should I do? If Anthony is here, we won’t have the excuse of traveling back to deal with the mission. If I refuse to do anything now, Tianya will realize that we don’t intend to accomplish the mission at all.”
“What’s on your mind?” Anthony rubbed his lips against her ear.
She tilted her face to the side uncomfortably. “Nothing.”
Anthony narrowed his eyes. “Was that your friend?”
“Yeah.”
“Come with me? I can make arrangements for your friend,” he suggested.
If it was in the past, Anne would not hesitate to agree, but the situation had changed and she wished that Anthony did not come.
Frustrated, she shoved him away. “Just go! The kids are still in Luton and I’m worried for
them.”
“They are all grown up now and don’t need us to worry about them,” he said. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
The triplets were sharp enough to travel abroad when they were two, so at the age of four, no one was capable of fooling them anymore; not to mention the fact that their everyday life was well taken care of.
However, this was not Anne’s main concern and all she wanted was an excuse to get Anthony to leave.
“Why do you have to always push my boundaries?” Enraged, she shouted, “I told you that I’m coming alone and you insist on following! Why…why do you have to be this way? Anthony Marwood, I’m begging you, just leave me alone, alright? I regret everything! I shouldn’t have ever returned to Luton in the first place!”
A sharp pain pierced through Anthony’s chest as though someone was ripping his heart apart by hand. He moved closer to caress her cheek despite the pain and asked, “What’s wrong? Did something happen? Talk to me.”
