Chapter 1483
Chapter 1483
“If you want to get out alive, you are going to take one last mission,” the man said.
Yuri and Anne shot one another a hopeful look.
“Is it really going to be the last mission?” Yuri asked.
“I said what I said,” the man responded.
“Who are we killing?” Anne asked.
“Anthony Marwood of Luton.”
Anne jolted in shock at the name.
“Alright, send us the details. We will complete the rest,” Yuri said.
“I look forward to it,” the man said before ending the call.
Once she set the phone down, Yuri finally noticed Anne’s lack of response and asked, What’s wrong?”
Anne sobered. “We can’t take that mission.”
“Why not? So long as we do this, we won’t have to hide again. We can live like ordinary people under the sun,” Yuri questioned in confusion.
Anne shook her head. “Anthony Marwood…is the father of my children.”
“What?” Yuri gaped. “What a coincidence.”
Anne felt the same, but realized that it made perfect sense. Tianya targeted some of the most powerful individuals and considering how wealthy Anthony was, someone ought to want him dead. She simply did not expect the mission to fall over her.
She could not possibly kill Anthony and would rather die to do so.
“Let’s cancel the mission. We can always go to Luton. It’s safer there and we can still lead
a normal life.”
Anne shot Yuri a grateful look. “Thank you. Anthony…cannot die. He can’t die…”
She could not imagine a world without Anthony in it and tears welled in her eyes.
“Don’t cry,” Yuri muttered.
Anne calmed herself and said, “If we call the mission off, Tianya will only send someone
else.”
“Which is why we are not going to call it off right now. We will pretend like we are traveling back to kill this guy, when we are actually leaving this place,” Yuri said. The pale look on Anne’s face was enough evidence to show how important the man was to her, likely more
so than her very own life. “Once we get back, we can pay attention to anyone who gets close to him. It will be alright.”
Anne nodded. “I just…didn’t expect someone to target Anthony…I’ve killed like a machine so far and now it’s the turn of someone I care about…Yuri, is this karma’s work?”
“It’s not your fault. We are all innocent. We would have died if we didn’t kill. The person who established Tianya is the one who deserves a taste of karma, not us.”
Anne sniffled and sobbed pathetically.
“Don’t overthink it. Get some sleep and we will get ready tomorrow to travel,” Yuri said.
“Okay.”
Just then, someone knocked on the door and both Anne and Yuri jolted in shock.
Regardless of time, no one should have come knocking and the only ones who might come to visit would be people from Tianya.
The two tensed and Yuri immediately pulled out her gun from under the rug, before signaling Anne to back away, she installed the silencer and moved toward the door, making sure that she pressed her body against the wall as she did.
The door was made of wood and anyone with a possession of a machine gun would easily kill them by shooting at the door. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
Yuri stood on the right side of the door while Anne stood behind the couch on the left, both ready to eliminate anyone who dared to come inside.
As the two slowed their breathing…
“Anne, it’s me.”
