Serenity once again walked out of a job interview in failure. She smiled wryly.

She had thought that she was mentally prepared for this. She was even willing to take a delivery job that did not even come with a basic salary, but even there, her application was rejected.

Serenity glanced at the time. It was almost nou now, so she stopped by a small restaurant where she ordered a bowd of noodles that cost barely more than a dollar–the cheapest item in the restaurant.

Starting yesterday, many people who had invested were gathered in front of the company entrance, demanding their money back.

He was wearing old, shabby clothes, but he was an exceptionally adorable child. His facial features were exquisite, his skin was supple and smooch, and he was so lovably chubby in a way that only toddlers could be, giving one an urge to pinch his cheeks.

And right now, the boy’s big brown eyes were staring fixedly at her.

Serenity stared back at him in confusion. She looked around. Because it was around lunchtime, many tables around her were occupied, and she could not tell where the boy had come from. She picked him up and then noticed that the boy’s eyes were

fixed on her bowl of noodles

“Would you lie to try the noodles?” she asked.

The buy did not react nor did he pay any attention to her. He just kept his gaze fixed on the bowl.

Could it be that this child really liked noodles? Serenity would not mind ordering another bowl for the boy, but she had to attend to the most urgent matter at the inocent, which was to find the boy’s parents.

Just as she was about to ask around if anyone knew the boy, a woman about 30 years old in plain, dull clothes rushed up to her and said, “I’m so sorry my son disturbed you! I should’ve kept an eye on him! I’m sorry, I’m so sorry..

The woman went on to apologize repeatedly, Serenity recognized the woman as the one behind the register when she had been making her order. She even recalled the waiter calling the woman “Boss“.

It surprised her that she was the boy’s mother.
