Chapter 5
It took me seven days to find the soul stone after I arrived in China, but I did. I finally sat down in a room with a short, fat, black haired man named Lui Cheng who was supposedly the owner of the stone and two other men in black.
“So… here’s the stone”
Mr Lui Cheng opened a mini box and placed it in front of me. I gasped after I saw what was inside because the jade green coloured stone glowed like hell.
“That’s– that’s the stone?” I managed to ask. I was still bewildered.
Mr Lui Cheng smiled
“Yes, mister”
“I want it!” I blurted out. I obviously did want it but I didn’t expect to say it as quick and eagerly as I did.
“Of course you do” the Chinese Mr said. “you’re aware of what it does right?”
“Yes…” I answered that because of the information about the stone that I read on the article. The information that made me leave everything and book the first flight to China in search of the stone.
“It’s a soul containment stone” Mr Lui Cheng explained. “it doesn’t have a scientific explanation to it, so I’ll say it’s magic. I’m sorry I can’t tell you where I got it from or where it originated, but just know that it’s old” said the Chinese Mr
“It’s okay…” I managed, still enchanted by the sight of the stone.
“It has other abilities—”
“Never mind” I cut him off. “I’ll find them out by myself”
“But how do I know if it actually works?”
“You want me to test it on someone?” Mr Lui Cheng raised an eyebrow
“Yes, please” I couldn’t afford to get scammed
I watched as Mr Lui Cheng raised his hand and two men went to him
“You know what to do. Show Mr Harley here how the stone works”
I watched in silence and amazement as one of the men removed the stone from the box and held it for about seven seconds.
After seven seconds passed, I saw a bright light, I had to shield my eyes. The two men who were testing the stone had passed out.
“What happened to them?” I asked Mr Lui Cheng, panicking
“They both fainted. That’s the aftermath of using the stone. But not to worry, they’ll wake up soon” said an unfazed Mr Lui ChengAll content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
I sat in silence as I waited for the men to wake up. I was agitated. Of course why wouldn’t I be? This shit was crazy! It felt like magic and it made me want the stone more. I loved exploring these type of things.
After some minutes, one of the men who had passed out woke up. He looked around and touched his body to see if it was intact.
“Why isn’t the other one waking up?” I asked Mr Lui Cheng as I stood up.
“That’s because both their souls are now in a body” he tapped the man who woke up “their souls are in the body of this man”
“Wow!” That was all I could say. What I just experienced here, was freaking awesome.
“What –what’s gonna happen next? How do you get their souls back in their bodies. Like how do you reverse what’s been done?”
Mr Lui Cheng opened another mini box and showed me a stone. Another stone. It was a black shiny stone
“This stone reverses what the jade green stone does” Mr Lui Cheng said
“The both stones works with proximity. As you saw before, the two men who tested the stone were close to eachother”
Mr Lui Cheng said and handed the black stone to the man who tested before.
The black stone did exactly what the jade green stone did. The man held the stone and there was a bright light and boom, he passed out again.
It was all too much to take in for a day.
“I’m ready to take the stone home” I finally said
“Only the jade green stone or the both?” The Chinese Mr asked
“Only the jade green stone” I replied as my lips curved into a diabolic smirk.
“Really?” He asked. “what exactly are you using the stone for?”
“Many things, Mr Lui. I’ve got many things to do”
I was finally realising my worth. I planned to do evil with this stone. Lots of evil.

Two days later…..
Evelyn
“It’s nice working with you. Have a nice day” I said and dropped the telephone, disconnecting it. I was having a shitty day.
First, I woke up this morning to my mom’s call. She was complaining to me about my dad and threatening for the hundredth time, to leave him. I managed to calm her down as I prepared for work, then as I was about to drive my car to work, it didn’t start.
I had to take the fucking taxi to work. It was so infuriating.
And now I’m finally here, at work and I was having the time of my life. Sarcasm intended.
When the hell did my fucking boss plan to promote me? How long was I going to work in this shit hole of a company before I got promoted to manage another one?
Uggghh! Today was going really well for me! I was sarcastic again.
“Evelyn Thompson”
“Elizabeth Monroe”
I heard my boss call me and my heart skipped. She called both I and Elizabeth. Why? Did she intend to tell us the result of our promotional exam now? I hoped that was the case because I really needed something to brighten up my crappy day.
“Yes, Mrs Tobias” I and Elizabeth chorused when we got to my boss’s office.
Whatever she had to say, she should say it quick because I couldn’t stand staying in the same space as Elizabeth.
“I have an assignment for you guys” Mrs Tobias said
What now? I mentally grumbled. How long were we going to kiss her ass before she got one of us promoted?
“I need you both to deliver a few boxes of goods to one of our company branches” she said
“But Mrs Tobias, do the both of us have to go?” Elizabeth asked. She beat me to it.
“Yes.” Mrs Tobias uttered sternly.
“You girls have to work out your differences if you want to lead” she said with an air of condescension.
“The goods are already in the company car. Go now, the driver is waiting”
And with that, we both scurried off.
