Candice was not surprised that Darius was in town, because he had mentioned that he would come.

What Candice was surprised at was that he had come to the hospital.

Darius said, "You can return to the country at the end of the month. Things here are almost settled."

Bella tried to pull her hand back, but Darius held it tightly. She could only explain, "I'm fine, I don't need to see a doctor."

Darius looked at her with a gentle smile. "Just listen to me. I'm really worried about you.

"And..." He paused. "You forgot what I told you just now. I don't like you calling me Darius. You should call me—" He coaxed her gently, blinking his eyes and looking at Bella expectantly, with sparkling eyes full of anticipation.

Bella could only go along with his words numbly and said, "Dare."

Darius was satisfied, his eyes filled with affection for Bella. He lowered his head and sighed softly. "Ella, I really don't want you to be unhappy."

Bella lowered her eyes, seemingly looking at something without focus. She murmured, "I'm not unhappy."

Alex was watching Ellis play with building blocks. Ellis was brought up every day by Yana now. Yana said it was because Ellis insisted on coming up herself, but if Ellis was allowed to visit, Candice would definitely be in the know.

Downstairs, Candice sat on the bed, thinking about Darius. When she heard the sweet voice of Ellis at the door, she thought it was Yana bringing her back. Without turning her head, she asked, "Having fun again?"

The only response was Ellis' giggling. The laughter dispelled some of the heaviness in Candice's heart. She sighed helplessly and turned around. "Did she have too much fun again? If her clothes got wet, you need to change them quickly to avoid catching a cold."

She raised her head and saw Alex.
