Jeremy’s face was ashen. His gaze was cold and intense as he stared at Natalie.

The way she had called out “Mr. Powell” felt like a knife cutting sharply through the air.

He had just seen Austin escort Natalie to her room. The two lingered at the door, saying goodbye with reluctance.

He would never believe it if anyone said nothing was going on between them. The thought of Natalie falling for someone else caused him sharp, tearing pain in his chest.

Natalie asked, “Do you need something from me?”

She was taken aback. She wondered why Jeremy was there again. They had already clarified their situation yesterday. With Helena’s scenes wrapped up this morning, they shouldn’t need to stay at this hotel anymore.

After all, the hotel wasn’t exactly comfortable.

Jeremy looked down at Natalie with an air of superiority. He had seen how close she had been with Austin earlier.

Their proximity was much closer than the distance between him and her now, and they had been talking to each other.

Now, not only was there a physical distance between Natalie and him, but her attitude towards him was as indifferent as it would be towards a stranger. Seeing Jeremy remain silent and look at her with hurt in his eyes, Natalie felt momentarily bewildered.

“You…”

“Natalie, you’re really cold–hearted,” Jeremy said, his eyes red with anger.

Natalie frowned and said, “Jeremy, what’s going on with you? You show up out of the blue to accuse me. What do you want to say? Just say it.”

She was also upset about how things had turned out between them.

If she could, she would want to return to a year ago when they had just married. They had been so eager to see each other every day and could see the affection in each other’s eyes.

But some things, once they happened, just couldn’t be changed.

“When will you be returning to Jipsburg?” Jeremy asked, taking a deep breath to steady his tumultuous

emotions.

Natalie sighed in relief. So, that was what he wanted to know.

She responded with a softer tone, “It’ll be about a month or so. I’m not sure of the exact date yet. It depends on the crew schedule.”

Jeremy’s gaze remained fixed on Natalie for a long moment, his eyes intense and brooding.

Under Jeremy’s intense security, Natalie felt quite uncomfortable. “I’m feeling a bit unwell today and I’m. getting tired. I’m going to rest now.” Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

“Alright,” Jeremy said, his voice curt.

Once the door was closed, Jeremy leaned against it. His entire demeanor was shrouded in a dark gloom.

Skylar had been standing on the balcony for quite a while. The violin performance had ended.

She wrapped her coat around her and left the balcony.

It was 10:45 pm, and since Joe hadn’t returned yet, it seemed unlikely he would. With Vera hospitalized, Joe had stopped the wedding photoshoot.

His urgent rush to the hospital meant he would likely stay there to ensure Vera was alright.

Thinking about Joe’s concern for Vera made Skylar feel uncomfortable.

Her phone rang as she was about to turn off the lights and go to bed.
