Chapter 45
{I’m Breaking Up With You}
Ava POV/ Nadaline Residence.
The moment madam walked in, I knew there was nothing left to hide again. I had to use the opportunity to open up and deep down, I felt devastated about it. Have never seen madam Nada look so miserable because she’s full of smiles and laughter after I become free with her. But seeing this part of her, I felt bad for not telling her, I kept blaming myself for everything, feeling bad for not controlling myself but then I couldn’t, damn!.
Confessing was the best solution, even though it’s going to hurt, I just have to settle things right, to avoid mistakes and am happy I did, really happy I did it. But her passing out after everything kept me on my toes. What if she needs help with anything related to family members? I know nothing about her family members, so I thought about pacing to and fro.
I rushed to call in our private doctor when she passed out, this thought in me kept coming to my head again.
“What if she decided to send you to some other family? ”
“She claims she’s failed in protecting you, what if she decided to send you to a better family-”
“She can’t be okay. ” I find myself yelling in reality. Janice descends the stairs with a sad facial expression.
“Battling with your thoughts and yelling out in frustration. ” She uttered as she sat down beside me.
“I’m just frustrated at how things are. ” I mumbled, resting my head back on the cushion.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
“Don’t just blame yourself, Ava, they are meant to happen. If they aren’t she won’t find out. We just hope she wakes up soon. ” Janice uttered and I nodded.
“But damn, I thought we were dead when she saw you and she heard our conversation. I was seriously hoping that the ground could have me willing but then you turned out to be a corny bitch. ” She uttered, laughing at her last words.
“What do you mean by corny bitch? Were there lies in what I said? Were there glitching words in my confession? ” I asked, with my eyes wide in a perplexed expression on my face.
“Seriously? You just pinned the whole thing on Dalton-”
“Pinned?? Why are you sounding as if I was the one that raped him? ” I asked, glaring so hard at her. I am trying to keep my voice cool, not in a situation like this.
“I know you didn’t rape him but the way you explained everything to her was as if he took it forcefully-”
“Didn’t he take it forcefully? I didn’t plan to lose my virginity so soon. ” I snapped back at her.
“Chill babe, but still, it was pleasurable-”
“It was but with the wrong person, don’t think you can pick on me with those. ” I interrupted her with a sharp quick reply.
“Now Dalton is in hot soup. ” Janice grinned and I chuckled.
“I’m happy something like that won’t occur again. ” I giggled, resting my body on the cushion.
“Oh, I paused and turned to look at her. Just remembering what you said before Gold ruined the air about Martin. ”
“Oh, he just asked if you are a frequent type at the clubhouse-”
“Frequent my foot! ” I roll my eyes, pulling my earphones onto the centre table.
“He’s going to run a background check on you-”
“For what exactly? Celebrities and their useless background checks. ” I hissed, putting my earphones around my neck.
“I’m not sure if he’s going to run it though. Moreover, he might just want to confirm something. Janice uttered, her voice sounds convincing but I am not falling for any of it. The doctors appear as they descend the stairs. Janice and I spring up instantly.
“Is she fine? ” Janice and I both ask.
“Yeah, she just needs rest, nothing more. And please make sure she uses her medications at all times. ” He explained. I was about to ask him if we can check up on her but I realize he still wants to further his explanation.
“For now, you should be watchful of things you say around her. Anything that might lead to shock; Shouldn’t reach her because of her high blood pressure, and please, don’t hesitate to reach us if you notice some changes in her body system, perhaps in her actions. ” He explained in a conclusive tone and I nodded. Janice winked at me to go upstairs.
“I will see them off. ” She whispered, walking them out of the living room. Step by step at the stairs, I wonder how madam Nada will feel. How did she feel? And what’s going on in her mind? Just by standing in front of her room, I inhale and exhale before rubbing my face again.
I placed my hand on the doorknob before pressing it down and the door opened slowly. I find her still unconscious but breathing.
“She’s still sleeping. ” I thought and walked closer to her bed.
“Guilty conscience started eating me up, just by staring at her face. ”
“I’m sorry for not telling you but then couldn’t because of something like this-”
“You kept saying something like this, and that something like this has happened. ” Janice said as she leaned against the door entrance.
“Just be grateful he didn’t try another attempt at doing it again. ” She uttered, as she walked closer to the end of the bed.
“I pray so because he said he will tell madam Nada to send me over for a week because of how I refuse to go longer than he wants. ”
“Are you for real? Janice exclaimed, her face was just funny to me.
“Because he felt like madam Nada trusts him so much and I was doubting if madam Nada trusts me also. You know, this issue here is about trust. I don’t know if she does or not. ” I replied and she sighed deeply.
“You should have just opened up to me. ” Her painful and breaking voice sounds low.
“Ma’am. ” Janice called as she walked close to her. I slowly took her hand into mine, wiping my tears as I summoned the courage to look at her again.
“I’m sorry-” I apologized but she kept shaking her head as I did.
“You shouldn’t be apologizing, Ava. I’m wondering why I had to fall in love with the wrong person. I thought he was going to be different, yet he claims he loves me. Even if he wants to have sex or cheat, it shouldn’t be you, Ava. It shouldn’t have been you. ” She mumbled in a sobbing voice. “And the funniest part of it is that I left when I was angry at you to his place to sleep, forgetting I have a celebrity gathering as usual. He both wanted it and we did.” She paused, as she let down her tears. Janice’s face was just emotional and mine; it was just blank. But my hands kept folding into hers.
“He pleaded I should send you over for a week and I was considering it but then I was still doubting if I should send you over because it’s likely you will be home all through and Gold won’t be around to keep your company. So that moment, I was like maybe I should hand you the clothing business since you said something about having an interest in it. ” She uttered with tears streaming down her cheeks.
“I really thought he’s a good person, even if he wants to cheat, it shouldn’t have been you. It makes me feel and look as if I didn’t do my role as a good mom to you. It hurts, gosh, I can’t believe I broke down in front of you guys. ” She cried, trying to cover everything with a smile but it was not working out. She ends up releasing more of it and we pull her into a warm hug.
I felt her pain, despite me not falling in love with someone but I only have a crush on one person and that’s Martin. I just pray I see someone better to end the rest of my life with. Loving is hard, loving hurts, we just have to try our best not to fall in love with the wrong person at the right time. I thought, patting her back calmly and warmly.
Janice and I exchange stares and our eyes become teary again.
“Maybe you should try to give it another chance. ” Janice uttered and I arched my brows.
“Is she for real? ” I thought, disengaging from the warm hug we gave madam Nada.
“Second chance! When he doesn’t know what he has done yet? He doesn’t know, madam Nada has known his plans and his greed. ” I snapped back at her with a furious face.
“I was trying to-” The ringing of Madam Nada’s phone made our conversation get intruded. She picked it up and her face lit up with a furious expression.
“Hey, babe. ” Dalton’s voice came up.
“Three words Dalton; Fuck you, Dalton. I’m breaking up with you, I’m ending this with you. ” That being said. She ended the call. My face was blank as she did everything. I turn to Janice, too bad, she’s just speechless the way I was.
