“Good morning Love” I already knew that he would be waiting for me… He gave me a hug which I accepted warmly and disengaged from him almost immediately.

“What’s wrong with you Eve?”He noticed.

“I’m fine..” I said then went to sit down.

He took the seat in front of me and said; “Don’t Tell me you are fine when you are not” He said.

I took a deep breathe in then let them all out and said; “it’s nothing serious; your father has figured out the hanki panki games I’m playing with him” I told Liam.

“About the pills?”He asked me.

“Sort of, he doesn’t know about the pills though but he’s getting there. He’s always complaining that he knows nothing about we spending the night together and there was lady he spent the night with last night and blah, blah blah… ” I rushed my words then took a break. “Gosh! “Listen Eve” He held my hand.. “calm down okay?” He said and I nodded slowly..”Maybe I’m just fed up of staying same roof with him. At times, I feel like drugging your father secretly is a crime”

“It’s not Even. Have I ever made mention of self-defense to you?” He said.

“Yes, Liam.. you have once told me that” and sighed again.

He put two fingers at the both edge of my lips and forced a smile curve. “Now, smile” He said but I gave a eye roll.

“Of would you come stay with me then?” He asked.

“I… uhmmn sort of wish” I told him and he gave a short laugh.

“How is everyone at home doing except my father?” He asked and I scoffed and said “We are fine”

“So I spoke to your father yesterday” Liam said.

“Yes, I did. I spoke with him”

“I mean I did … I got his contact through the doctor and spoke with him. He was very happy to hear my voice” He said … I smiled.

“Awwn that so nice of you Liam. I spoke with him also” I said.

“Anything at all, to make you happy” He said, kissing the back of my palm while I just sat there, gleaming at him. I felt like asking him if he had any suggestions about how we’ll continue our relationship till the very end but I didn’t say anything … He is probably confused also , we’ll just keep being together and see how it goes like he said.

“Want me to go to my office?” He asked me.

“Of course you should, we’ll be together again when I’m less busy okay?” I said.

He glared at the wristwatch and said; “Oops! I just have to wait for you; and it’s gonna take some time” He muttered like a baby being forced to depart from his mom.

“Oh yeah, you should leave now” I stood up, made him get off the chair, like he did to me yesterday.. then I pushed him gently to his office.

“Okay Okay” He said when we got to his door.

I stopped pushing him.. He kissed me briefly on my lips “See you later” He said then went inside his office.

I smiled and turned to go back to my seat when I sighted Maria.. she was just coming towards my office and she might have caught us.

“Hey” I said to her; smiling as if nothing really happened between Liam and I. I hope she’s just got here and didn’t notice us.

“Eve, you’ve been very busy. Being Mr Liam’s secretary really isn’t easy” She said as she came towards me. I guess she didn’t catch us.

“Ye.. ah” I muttered.

“Here” She gave me some files.

“More works to do” I groaned and she chuckled.

“I know right. So see you later Eve” She said then exited.

I sat down, went through the files first before I began to work.

I prefer to finish up with whatever I have to do before bringing it to Liam’s office but I wasn’t done yet, and it’s now time for lunch break.

I stretched my arms tiredly… I looked at the glass mirror and smiled, knowing fully well that Liam could see me from the other side; then I decided to go meet him.

“Eve! Eve…” Maria, Daisy and George.

“Hey, you didn’t have lunch with us and you left the office very early; did Mr Liam really make you do alot of things?” Daisy said.

“Huh…” I exclaimed.

“Mr Liam is still in the office” George whispered to them.

“Oops!” She pinched her lips.

“Come with us.. let’s go have lunch together” Maria said, holding my hands.

“Uhm… guys..” They didn’t even let me speak, they pulled me along with them.

Oh Jeez! sorry Liam.

We ate at the office cafeteria silently, although the surrounding was sort of noisy. And I noticed that they were all gazing at me while we ate.

“What.. is.. it?” I asked, pronouncing each word one by one.

“Should we tell her?” Maria whispered to George.

“Tell me what?” I asked again.

“Uhm, Eve.. ” George muttered.

“Let’s just ask her, instead of making crazy assumptions in our heads” Daisy said and I looked at them confusedly.

“Is it true that Clara broke up with Mr Liam?” They asked me.

“Uh, how did you guys know?” Because it all happened at home, the whole scenerio.

“You know rumour, gossip..” George said.

“Which we think, it’s true because we haven’t been seeing her around here” Maria said.

“Well… uhm.. it’s true” I answered them and continued eating.

I thought that’s all but they were still gazing at me.

“What guys? I just said.. it’s true. Yeah Clara broke up with Liam… I .. I mean Mr Liam” I said. And they all nodded at the same time, which looks really weird.

“What is it again?” I dropped my fork and asked them.

“Ask her, you two are pretty close” Daisy whispered into George’s ear but I heard her.

Then I waited for George to ask me whatever it was.

“Uhm Eve, remember when I told you that there’s no way, everyone won’t know whatever that is going on in the company” George spoke.

“You’ve never said anything like that” I shook my head.

“Oh” He gave a small laugh. “We have said something similar to that, I guess you don’t remember” He said smiling.

Then he cleared his throat: “Uhm, it’s about … Mr Liam, you guys are dating right?” He asked and I was dumbfounded. I wasn’t expecting that question because they didn’t look like they know something about us.

“Uhm” I swallowed my saliva.

“It’s not just a rumour. I.. I caught him holding your waist. Mr Liam has never done that to any of the female staff” George added.

“Aside that, Eve you do spend most time in his office, there was a time I didn’t see you in your office even when I returned after some minutes” Daisy added…” It’s obviously not just about work” She said.

“Sophia couldn’t make it to work yesterday and she said she saw you both at a new chinese restaurant… which we all know that mostly lovers goes there” Maria said.

I looked at them speechless.. “Err… so you guys have observed alot.. of things” I stammered. I didn’t even know where to start from.

“It’s literally a secret gossip in the office”

“And we also noticed… Coincidentally” George remarked.

“Yeah even today, you both.. kissed. That’s the height of it; you can deny that the whole Chinese restaurant stuff, being with him in his office and all that might be work related but not the kiss” Maria said. I folded my lips and glared at them, they were waiting for what I have to say.

“Silent means Yes” Daisy said.

“Are you guys really dating?” George asked me again.

“Erm…” I was gonna tell them the truth too but HE interrupted me. “Yes we are” I looked around, only to see Liam already close to us.

“Liam” I muttered his name, when he finally got to where we sat, he kissed my cheeks.. I stared at him and he smiled.

George cleared his throat, adjusted his eyeglasses and sat upright. Daisy and Maria murmured ‘Sorry’ as they also adjusted their sitting position and ate as if they were in hurry to leave.

Liam sat beside me, intertwined his fingers with mine and raised it up for them to see.

“Yeah, we are dating. Eve is my girlfriend” He told them.
