Married At First Glance: I Am Not Ugly

Overwhelmed

She was quiet and then she eventually nodded.

“Alright, if you say so. I’ll believe your words then.”

Alex smiled and then closed his eyes to sleep again, but he breathed a sigh of relief that he didn’t mention Marissa’s name. If he had, he would be in serious shit!

Marissa had left the hospital and returned to the apartment with her luggage. She was exhausted from the trip and decided to shower and rest for the night.

As she undressed and got in the shower, her mind began to wander. She thought about Alex and wondered if he was resting or…

She shook her head trying to get him off her mind as she had decided that she wasn’t going to think about him again since they were just married on paper and it was just a fake marriage to get the contract they traveled to get.

But try as she might, she couldn’t stop thinking about Alex. She thought about the moment they had first met, how arrogant he was and looked and how he brought the idea of them getting married for a contract for three months.

She had thought he was an arrogant and selfish person, but when she began to know him more, he wasn’t all that bad.

She remembered the way his eyes lit up when he talked about his passion for robotics, and the way he would always be there to listen when she needed to talk.

She had never felt so connected to anyone before, and she couldn’t help but wonder if there was something more to their relationship than just a fake marriage.

She turned off the shower and stepped out, wrapping herself in a towel. As she looked at herself in the mirror, she suddenly felt overwhelmed by all the thoughts and emotions swirling through her head.

She took a deep breath and tried to focus on the present moment. There was no use dwelling on the past or the future, she told herself. All she could do was live in the present and take things one day at a time.

She changed into her pajamas and crawled into bed, her mind still racing. After a while, she finally fell into a restless sleep, dreams of Alex and their pretend marriage swirling through her subconscious.

She woke up the next day and checked the time and realized that it was still early. Then she thought that Alexander had said he had a very important meeting today and that he needed to be there early.

An idea came up: what if she made him breakfast and sent his driver to deliver it to him since she knew that he never used to have breakfast that early when he leaves his house.

She got out of bed and headed to the kitchen, pulling out the ingredients to make his favorite breakfast. As she mixed the batter and preheated the oven, she couldn’t help but smile.

Cooking had always been one of her favorite pastimes, and it felt good to be doing something productive. Plus, she knew that Alex would appreciate the gesture.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

When the muffins were done, she carefully wrapped them up and called for his driver.

She explained that she had prepared breakfast for Alex and asked him to deliver it to his office.

She also made some for the driver since she knew he wouldn’t have taken anything as well. The driver smiled and thanked her for it and took the package driving off to deliver it.

Meanwhile, Alexander, who was already used to eating breakfast in the morning thanks to Marissa, woke up thinking he was gonna meet Jessie in the kitchen preparing breakfast, but as he got to the kitchen, no one was there.

Jessie was still in her room not sleeping but working.

“Hey babe. Good morning.” he greeted her walking towards her bed and kissed her.

“Hey you. Did you sleep well?” she asked, responding to his kiss.

“Yes, I did.” he replied as he adjusted his tie.

“Off to work already?” she asked.

He nodded.

“Yeah, I have an early meeting as I informed you yesterday night.”

“Oh yes, you did. Alright babe. Will see you when you get back.” she said and faced her computer as she was doing something on it.

Alexander was not so surprised after all she had never cooked for him before, let alone prepared breakfast so… it was stupid of him to think she would do such a thing like prepare breakfast for him.

He received a call from his driver informing him that he was downstairs at the parking lot waiting for him.

He took his bag and headed out the door. As he got to the parking lot, his driver greeted him and then he entered the car.

While they were on their way to the office. Alexander started to smell a nice aroma coming from the seat beside him. He looked and saw a package and picked it up.

It was warm and soft.

“What is this?” he asked the driver.

The driver looked over at him and said, “It’s a package for you, sir. Ms Marissa told me to give it to you as she knew you wouldn’t have had breakfast.”

Alexander smiled as he opened the package and saw a nice soft hot muffin and a coffee flask with a note.

The note read:

“I hope this will help you have a good start of your day.

Marissa”

Alexander felt his heart melt as he read the note. He couldn’t believe that Marissa had gone out of her way to do this for him. It was the sweetest and most thoughtful thing anyone had ever done for him.

As he took a bite of the muffin, he couldn’t help but think about how much he cared for Marissa.

He had never felt this way about anyone before, and he wasn’t sure what to do about it. But he knew he had to figure it out, because he couldn’t keep pretending that he didn’t have feelings for her.

She was exactly the lady he needed and not what he thought he wanted…..
