Invincible Heir

Chapter 166 Beg For Baron’s Forgiveness

Chapter 166 Beg For Baron’s Forgiveness

Hearing this, Bryan was white with rage. Baron, in his view, was nothing. He came from a wealthy and

powerful family. So, he was contemptuous of Baron for his humble background.

“You all are making a gigantic mistake, Mr. Bush! His identity isn’t a secret in Cona! He is the son-in-

law of the Perry family. Trust me, every word I said is true. He must have stolen the black-and-gold

card!” Bryan said, staring at Baron resentfully.

Edith had a little reservation at first, but at this time, his assistant whispered several words in his ear,

“It’s his name, Baron Owen.”

The words explained away Edith’s doubts. He felt a little guilty suspecting Baron without an actual real

reason.

Just then, a voice behind him said, “Bryan is right, Mr. Bush!”

Edith turned, and saw Paris, who stared at him with anxious eyes.

Paris finally got the courage to stand by his friend. Because of him, Bryan got into trouble. So, he

couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.

But his words made Susan angry. “Paris!” she shouted.

Edith didn’t argue with him. He asked calmly, “What do you mean?”

“Mr. Bush, I’ve heard some amazing stories about Baron. You want to hear it?” Paris said and his face

broke into a triumphant smile. He continued, “Five years ago, Tracy Perry, the great beauty in Cona,

had a fling with a safeguard and then she married him! The poor safeguard not only got a pretty wife

and immediately became a rich guy! Do you know who the lucky guy is? Let me tell you. He is Baron!

Mr. Bush, the scandal spread through all Cona five years ago. Everybody knows it. Ask others if you

don’t believe me.”

Just at that moment, there was much talk of it.

“Oh, yeah. I remember. It is all true, everything he said.”

“Yes. I’ve also heard the Perry family is in dire straits.”

“You’re right. The Perry family is sort of broke. So, it seems impossible that he has a black-and-gold

card.”

Edith looked at them and, without a word, smiled. He had known the card was true and Baron was its

owner. In his view, maybe Baron’s story was wonderful and maybe what they said was true, however

they were wrong about Baron’s background. He was so much more than the son-in-law of the Perry

family!

Baron sat very still and watched them, without a word.

After thinking for a few moments, Edith looked at Paris and asked, “What’s your name?”

Paris got a little overexcited. He hastily introduced himself, “Mr. Bush, I’m Paris Maguire and Tom

Maguire was my grandpa.”

Edith didn’t speak and turned to Bryan, asked, “And you?”

Bryan answered with delight, “I’m Bryan and I’m from the Woods family.”

And in this way, he asked the names of a few others, who just had spoken. Then he said to his

assistant, “Have you got all their names?”

The assistant nodded, “Yes, Mr. Bush!”

“OK, that’s good. From this day forward, they will not be allowed to attend any auction I’m responsible

for,” Edith said calmly.

“Yes, Mr. Bush!”

For a moment everyone was speechless with shock. They all wondered if they had misheard it.

Just then, the assistant walked towards the men who Edith had mentioned. “Hey, guys. Just do as Mr.

Bush asked! Get out of here!” he said loudly.

Everyone was very surprised by Edith’s order, and they began to set their eyes on Baron curiously.

Why did Edith offend the richest and most powerful families for a son-in-law of a small family?

“You must be mistaken, Mr. Bush! He’s the one who should get out of here!” Paris shrieked, pointing at

Baron.

Edith stared at Paris, clearly affronted. “I’ll say one more thing. From this day forward, the whole

Maguire family will not be allowed to attend my auction!”

After hearing this, Paris grew rigid. He really screwed up this time. Attending the McGill family’s

auctions was the symbol of great wealth and status. But from now on, the whole Maguire family was

excluded.

And not only that, the Maguire family’s businesses would likely also be affected.

At this thought, Paris, pale as death, was standing motionless on the spot. A feeling of utter

helplessness washed over him.

“I was wrong. I’m sorry, Mr. Bush! Please forgive me!” Paris begged, but his words created much Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

remark.

“I bet Mr. Bush will not change his mind.”

“Paris is stupid! It is useless arguing with Mr. Bush!”

“The Maguire family will be in even more trouble!”

Edith thought about it for a while and said, “There’s an easy solution. If Mr. Owen forgive you, I’m

willing to let what you did slide.”

Paris felt the anger coiling inside him. He clenched his hands, seeking to control his irritation. Then he

stepped up to Baron. “Please forgive me for insulting you, Mr. Owen!” said Paris, his teeth gritted.

“That didn’t sound very heartfelt,” Baron sneered.

Paris stared at Baron and anger was boiling up inside him. But, quelling his anger, he lowered his head

and said, “Please forgive me, Mr. Owen! I am really an idiot! I regret the injustice which I did you.”

His words seemed to be sincere, but nobody noticed his fierce eyes. He swore to himself that he would

kill Baron, one way or another!

At this time, two young men ran up to Baron.

“Mr. Owen, I was wrong. I’m sorry.”

“Mr. Owen, please forgive me!”

Baron’s eyes ranged over them and fell upon Paris. “Apology accepted,” he said, smiling.

“Thank you. Thank you,” the two young men cheered.

“But except him,” Baron continued, pointing at Paris.
