Chapter 450 Puppet Primordial Spirit
Chapter 450 Puppet Primordial Spirit
Many thoughts crossed Jonathan's mind. They came back to life? This is the most eerie and unscientific thing I've seen yet! During my journey, I've encountered many incredible things. Even though plenty of them seem supernatural or fantastical on the surface, they can be explained with science. After all, things develop in accordance with logic and science. It doesn't seem like there are any scientific explanations for Moose's and Skylar's resurrection! However, just because it seems that way doesn't mean that's the reality of things. There must be a secret behind their revival, a logical, scientific explanation as to how this is happening. It's just that I haven't figured out what it is yet. Perhaps neither of them was truly brought back to the land of the living.
Torrence looked at Moose and Skylar intently.
Sensing that something was wrong with Torrence, Jonathan asked, “Did you figure something out, Torrence?”
Torrence ignored Jonathan. Suddenly, the look in Torrence's eyes changed as he looked at Moose. “Theos?”
“Theos?” Both Jonathan and Yeverie were startled.
At that moment, Moose spoke.
As his throat had been crushed by Jonathan, his voice sounded hoarse and unpleasant to the ears.
“You have some nerve to betray Supreme Sect, Torrence!” Moose said coldly.
“Is he really Theos?” Jonathan asked again.
Torrence nodded. “He's not the real Theos, but they're being controlled by Theos through the power of the puppet primordial spirit.”
“Is it really powerful?” Jonathan's heart lurched.
“Obviously!” Looking at Moose, Torrence sneered, “Us mortals should be prostrating before you, shouldn't we, oh great Theos?”
“What do you think? Are you planning to defy me? Do you think you're powerful enough to do that?” Moose replied indifferently.
“I don't care how mighty you are. I'll never submit to a false god like you. Even though you did all those horrid, disgusting things, you still pretend to be kind and compassionate. Just thinking about it sickens me!”
A rare look of rage flashed past Moose's eyes. “You're the first who dares to insult me like this, Torrence. Very well. I promise your end will be a miserable one!”
“You can torture and humiliate me however you want. No matter what you do, you'll never stop me from looking down on you and spitting on you if I have the opportunity. I'm telling you, this is my freedom!”
“You have never possessed any freedom before the almighty Theos!” Moose roared before he attacked without warning. Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
He pointed at Torrence, a bright light shining from it.
A moment later, the ice on the ground where Torrence was standing suddenly surged upward. In an instant, an ice chain was formed.
Torrence was slightly taken aback.
Jonathan was stunned, too. Holy crap! Mr. Moose has suddenly become so powerful! Doesn't he need to utter a spell to use magic? He didn't do that at all to summon the ice!
The icy chain was about to wrap itself around Torrence's body.
Torrence remained unmoved as he suddenly drew Hallowed Sword and sliced the ice chain apart.
Then, he darted forward, aiming to behead Moose.
At that moment, Skylar made his move.
He wielded his long sword and arrived before Moose in a snap.
His attack with the sword was quick, too. He speedily parried Torrence's assault and thrust his weapon at him.
Torrence tilted his body and dodged the attack. With a twist of his wrist, he smacked Skylar's sword away and attempted to stab his eyes.
Two expert swordsmen exchanged multiple blows. Their weapons moved at such high speed that they seemed like silver snakes dancing in the air. It was a fierce battle.
Of course, Jonathan didn't just stand around and do nothing. He wasn't going to hold back after how things had transpired.
Using Shadow Step, he arrived behind Moose in a flash.
Then, he grabbed Moose's head. “Let's see if you can survive this!” Jonathan roared before twisting and yanking Moose's head off his body.
Surprisingly, blood didn't spurt out.
Jonathan was still holding Moose's head, which suddenly turned into a ball of ice threads. The ice threads rapidly bound Jonathan's hands.
There were tens of thousands of ice threads. They grew rapidly as if they were alive and wrapped themselves around Jonathan's body.
At that speed, they wouldn't need much time to form an icy cocoon around Jonathan's body.
Meanwhile, Moose's body abruptly turned into a pile of ice.
The real Moose was glaring at Jonathan from about three meters away.
In an instant, Jonathan was trapped in danger. He started sweating profusely, astonished.
He let out a roar and did his best to break free from the icy threads.
Unfortunately for him, the cold threads were elastic. He couldn't escape.
When Yeverie saw that, she panicked and immediately attempted to pull the icy threads off Jonathan.
“Don't touch it!” yelled Jonathan.
However, it was too late.
Yeverie had touched the ice threads, which hastily spread toward her and circled around her body.
Yeverie became trapped as well.
I can't snap these threads with brute force. What should I do? The gears in Jonathan's mind turned rapidly.
Right then, Torrence and Skylar were having difficulty triumphing over the other.
However, Torrence was having a hard time keeping his defense up.
Skylar was too proficient with the sword. The more he fought, the mightier he grew. His energy seemed to be inexhaustible, and he was an absurdly quick learner.
Torrence almost couldn't protect himself from Skylar's barrage of attacks anymore.
If things went on according to this situation, Jonathan, Torrence, and Yeverie would be dead.
At that moment, Jonathan recalled something. F*ck! How can I forget I still have many fire talismans?
Instantly, he summoned and activated one hundred fire talismans with his mind.
In the blink of an eye, a blazing inferno was created.
As tough as the ice threads were, it still had a fatal weakness.
All ice threads were swiftly melted by the flame manifested by the fire talismans. Jonathan shook off the fire on his body and escaped the ice threads.
Then, he sped toward Yeverie and lit a fire talisman to melt the ice threads binding her.
Jonathan and Yeverie regained their freedom.
At that moment, Jonathan glanced at Torrence and saw that he could no longer hold on.
He attempted to aid Torrence, but Moose interrupted him.
Moose pointed at Jonathan again, a brilliant glow gathering on his fingertip.
A phoenix appeared.
The phoenix glittered in gold, its body engulfed in flame.
It charged toward Jonathan fiercely.
“Run!” Jonathan shouted at Yeverie.
Yeverie understood his meaning and fled.
Jonathan rolled on the ground and evaded the phoenix's claw attack.
He waved his hand, casting a spell at Moose.
The technique he unleashed was Aurora's Praise.
It was the first spell among the three that Jonathan possessed.
In a flash, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight ice swords materialized in the air and shot toward Moose's body.
Moose's expression remained unchanged.
He pointed at the attack, and the ice swords around him froze in the air.
They began melting together, forming a gigantic block of ice.
Jonathan was bewildered by how ridiculously powerful Moose was.
Still, Aurora's Praise did stall Moose for some time, allowing Jonathan to help Torrence out.
Once Jonathan joined the battle, Torrence had an easier time fighting back.
However, Skylar swiftly adjusted his strategy. Even though he was facing both Jonathan and Torrence, he was holding his ground pretty well.
“Go to hell!” Jonathan cast the second spell, Backlit Flame Magic, at Skylar.
Tens of thousands of golden light zipped toward Skylar.
Skylar waved his sword, dodging the attack.
Seeing that Skylar was in danger, Moose quickly made his move.
Ice surged up from the ground around Skylar, forming a shield to protect him and locking him inside.
Jonathan's spell was powerful as the volley of light continued to attack the ice shield.
Jonathan and Torrence didn't have the nerve to stick around. They exchanged glances before slipping away.
Yeverie was already waiting for them at the entrance. Once they met up with each other, they fled.
“Get rid of Auropurple Crown, Torrence.” Jonathan suddenly thought of something during their escape. “Theos can track us through it.”
Torrence's expression shifted. He removed Auropurple Crown from his storage ring and threw it away without hesitation.
They sprinted as hard and fast as they could. Not long after, they arrived at the collapsed exit from before.
It was a thirty-meter drop.
Jumping down from there was easy, but leaping up proved to be difficult.
Jonathan turned to Yeverie. “You head up first, then use the rope to pull us up.” As he spoke, he handed a small storage ring to her.
Much equipment was kept inside that storage ring, including ropes.
Yeverie nodded.
Jonathan kneeled slightly, bending his leg.
Yeverie stepped on Jonathan's thigh and sat on his shoulders.
In a single motion, Jonathan launched her upward.
At the same time, Yeverie jumped.
Her body was light, and he was powerful.
A mere thirty-meter wall couldn't stop them.
Soon, Yeverie arrived at the top.
Jonathan turned to Torrence. “I'll throw you up.”
Torrence nodded.
Jonathan catapulted Torrence out of Demon Palace as well.
After that, Torrence and Yeverie dropped the rope.
Just as Jonathan was about to climb the rope, he turned around and saw that Skylar had already caught up with them.
