Cream on cheese
The water waves forth and back. Beatrice sipped out of her drink while watching it up close. The weather was cool so she was just sitting on a chair without a shed. She breathed out, enjoying the way the wind was blowing her hair. Maybe… all she needs is peace, and, the peace she needs is this beach. A lot has happened in her life in the past days. A lot she wished never happened, but they did happened and the only way to get over them is to move on. She glanced back at George who was sitting under an umbrella miles away from her. He has his eyes shut and Beatrice let’s out a sigh. That man.. it all started with him – IntrovertBoy. If she hadn’t met him, she would still be sane. He has sent her out of her senses.. making her feel hell. She looked away from him. Why would he agree to come to the beach when he is not even going to enjoy the view?. She picked up a strawberry from the plate beside her and threw it in her mouth. She munched on it, and closed her eyes too. Oh.. this gentle breeze seems to calm the tornado going on in her mind. “You guys are couples so why are you not sitting together?. Isn’t that betraying your title as a ‘couple?’ ” Laura sighed and plunked down on the chair next to Beatrice. Beatrice opened her eyes, “So, now, you do agree that we are couples.” Laura stared at her for some seconds before chuckling. “Well.. I agree that I was a bit.. mesmerized at your husband’s handsomeness before but, believe me, it was only for a moment as it was nothing but an infatuation. I don’t go after married men, so, rest assured, Mrs Winslow.”she remarked. Beatrice scoffs. “You can have a crush on him for all I care though.” “Did you guys fought?. I mean, you just got married so why would you guys even fight?” Beatrice pressed her lips together. She shouldn’t have said that. “A little fight, that’s all. I am just here waiting for him to come beg me.”she lied. Laura chuckled. “As expected from us women. We like having our man apologize to us first, even if we are at fault.” “Hm.”Beatrice nodded. “What’s the fun in sitting here and just watching the ocean though?. Don’t you wanna go close to it?” “Of course, I want to, badly. Something seems to be on my mind – something I can’t fathom.”Beatrice replied with a sigh. “I heard you brought me home last night. Thank you. I must have been an hassle.” Laura’s brows creased up. “Brought you home?. I didn’t. Your husband did. You were drunk and he took you home by himself.”she responded. “What?. But, he–”Beatrice stopped talking, blinking her eyes. She remembered the bedroom scene where he kissed her. “Don’t ever run away again.”she remembered her crazy words and she gasps. “Oh, no!”she covered her mouth with her palms. No wonder she has felt awkward ever since then. Holy Moly! “Uhhhh.. is something wrong?”Laura asked. “No.. nothing.”Beatrice swallowed the lump in her throat. Damn.. She can’t believe she said those words to him. What the hell..??. She stood up and packed some strawberries into her palms. “I’m going to meet the sea cause I am seriously at sea as to why I did that.”she started walking away. She shoved the berries in her mouth and ate them, savagely. “Damn, Beatrice. You really fvcked up big time.”she bit her lower lip. She sat on the white sand and ruffled her hair. “How am I going to tell him that those were my drunk words?. I don’t feel anything for him, right?. I was just drunk, that’s all.” She touched her chest. “Right?” Why does it feels like she is lying to herself though?. She doesn’t love Gregory! She doesn’t love him! He is a jerk, a wreck! Someone that shouldn’t be loved! Geez.. “Ah – ah,”she touched the side of her mouth. “His lips on mine was like a cream on the cheese. It moved perfectly and…. oh God!!! Fvck no!!”she hit her head. Why is she even thinking about that?. His lips on her’s was a total mess! She shook her head, vigorously. “I hate him. I hate him.”she mumbled to herself. She puffed out some air. “I really, really hate him. I can’t like him. I must not like him.”she slapped her cheeks, repeatedly. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
