Hiding His Baby: The Alpha's Rejected Mate

Chapter 7: His and her touches

Chapter 7: His and her touches

The world stopped for her when she opened her eyes and looked into the most alluring grey eyes. Only their erratic heartbeats were heard, nothing else. It looked like they even stopped breathing When Athena slipped, she expected to fall into the arms of the cold ground.

Not into the arms o f her heartless ex mate. His strong arms were wrapped protectively around her slim waist while her hands were on his hard chest as they looked into each other’s eyes. They were intoxicated by each other’s scent.

“Do you always do what you are asked not to?” Dominic suddenly spoke up with a blank look o n his face.

He didn’t know what he was doing here. He didn’t know why he came here but he just came. He was supposed to go to a peaceful place and find some peace there.

Then why did his legs bring him here? To her. Being near her brought him anything but peace. She was the reason for his restlessness and messed up state. But there he was, with her in his arms. His words brought her back from the world of illusion she was in and she immediately tried to get away from him.

But he didn’t let her do that, instead tightened his hold around her. She glared at him.

“I don’t know, try me!” She snarled as she tried to get away from him once again.

“Stand still.” He commanded in a cold tone, earning a scoff from her.

“Get away from me!” She shouted and tried to get free from his hold but he wasn’t budging.

She tried to free his hands, push him on the chest to create distance but nothing was working. She suddenly winced in pain after getting poked on the stomach by her own elbow. She closed her eyes tight and shut her lips to digest the pain and not show him any weakness. He looked a ther with a frown.

“If you had listened to me, this wouldn’t have happened.” He scowled at her.

“If YOU had listened to me, this wouldn’t have happened!” She snapped back at him instantly.

“Now leave me!” She demanded again but this time she didn’t move much. She didn’t want to make things worse for her.

“I left you already, don’t you remember?” He said in a bitter tone, halting her movement completely. She stopped and looked up at him in disbelief.

“How can I forget that? Can’t you see I am carrying that memory still with every small wound? “She said with watery eyes. She controlled the tears from rolling down with a lot of difficulty. He clenched his jaw hearing her.

“It’s not like it mattered to you much. Look at you! You ran to new arms so fast. You have a son now.” He taunted while breathing hard. He was trying to show that he didn’t care but it wasn’t the truth. The thought of that made him want to burn the whole world.

“Yes, I have a son. He is my power, pride and reason for existence. Don’t think you can use that against me to make me weak. Because his name gives me power.” She said with a fire in her eyes.

The intensity was too much for him to keep looking at her. He moved his eyes away from her for a second before looking back at him.

“And if we are playing the game that way, then you are not lagging behind as well. You have a Luna. How great is that!” She taunted with a smirk but her red eyes from tears said something entirely different. He was too strong-headed to read that.

“Oh, yeah, did you meet my Luna? Do you want to know who she is?” He asked with a smirk. Her blood boiled seeing his smirk but if only she knew that her blood would turn cold when she heard his

next words.

“She is my second chance mate.” He announced with his chin held high.

Her hands dropped which was holding his bicep dropped in shock. She looked at him in shock a s silence fell around them once again.

“S… second chance ma…mate?” She asked in a shaky tone.

He looked away from her as he didn’t like the look she was having on her face. It might be the third raw expression he had seen on her face from the time he knew her. The second was when she talked to her son. And the first… he forced himself to not think about that.

“Yes, second chance mate and I love her. I am proud to have her by my side unlike-…” He couldn’t complete his sentence when she completed it for him.

“Unlike me whom you hated and were ashamed of.” She whispered and couldn’t hold the drop of tears any more. His jaw clenched as he eyed the drop of tears rolling down her cheeks. But before it could roll down completely, she wiped it away.

“Good for you. I am happy the moon goddess didn’t do injustice toward any of us. She blessed both of us with second chances.” She said with a fake smile which he couldn’t read because his mind was stuck.

“What do you mean by second chances?” He asked with a deep frown while pulling her closer.

“What do you think I am talking about after seeing my son? Oh yeah, did you meet my son? His name is Ace. He is the sweetest chi-…” She couldn’t complete her sentence as his hold suddenly got tightened painfully around her arms. But she didn’t show any reaction to that and instead looked at him with a sly smirk.

“Who is his father?” He asked with gritted teeth while glaring at her hard.

“My second chance ma-…” She couldn’t complete her sentence when she was pushed behind roughly. Her back side of the legs bumped with the bed and she fell on the bed with a thud. She let out a winch before clutching her stomach in pain. Her stitches reopened and blood started pouring again.

He hovered over her as he pinned her on the bed with his hands on both sides of her head,

“What the hell is wrong with you?! Why do you keep giving me pain?!” She groaned as she bit her lips to stop the cry coming out of her.

“I give you pain?! What about you, huh? You destroyed my life. I was mated to a freaking rogue. Do you know how fucking hard that is for me?” He shouted at her face in rage. She let out a groan as she pushed on his chest once again.

“You are fucking crazy! How’s that my fault that I am a rogue! Do you know how fucking hard i t is to be a rogue?” She shouted back. She was angry, beyond angry. What she felt for him at that moment after he blamed her was nothing but hatred.

“Don't try to blame it all on me!” He punched on the bed beside her head. She flinched at that

“Fine, I won’t. Just stay the fuck away from me! I hate you! You already took away my healing ability. Stop hurting me more!” She cried out loud in pain and agony. He didn’t reply to anything after that. He was breathing hard silently as he saw her struggle with breathing in pain. She started to lose consciousness again.

He looked down at her stomach which was bandaged. He slowly raised his hands and opened the bandages. Then he kept his hand over the wound. He started caressing her stomach. But the moment he kept her hand there, she let out a loud cry in pain. He didn’t remove his hands for some reason and

surprisingly he saw the wound filling up completely. But the process seemed to be too painful for her as with one last loud cry, she lost her consciousness.

“What about the pain you inflicted on me?” He whispered to her unconscious self while touching his chest and that’s when he realised…It didn’t hurt when she touched him there…—

THE NEXT MORNING 1

“Mommy! Mommy! Mommy, wake up!”

Athena felt a little weight on her stomach and heard the sweet voice which can make her day at any point of time. She immediately knew who it was. She opened her eyes to see the giggling face of her baby and a smile immediately came up on her face.

“Good morning, my sunshine!” Athena cheered while pulling him down on her chest and kissed him on his chubby cheeks. Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Good morning, mommy! You are finally awake. I missed you.” Ace said in his baby tone while hugging her and hiding his face on the crook of her neck.

“Aww, baby. I missed you too. Are you okay? Are you scared of….what happened back home?” She asked cautiously to see if he remembers anything and if he does, how much. She doesn’t want to risk her son’s mental health.

“No, mommy! I wasn’t scared at all. It was so exciting! Everyone was turning into big wolves! So cool! I want to turn into one too and scare all the bad people. I want to protect you like the very big black wolf who saved us from the small mean wolf.” Ace said with a lot of excitement and sparkle in his beautiful eyes.

Athena went silent after hearing him. She couldn’t decide if she should be worried about her son’s fascination with violence or be thinking of who this big black wolf he was talking about. She wasn’t stuck there for a long time as Suzanne interrupted her thoughts.

“Oh, no! Ace, what are you doing? Get off of mommy’s stomach. She is hurt.” She exclaimed in worry. Ace looked at his mother with big widened eyes, making her heart melt. Athena stopped him before he could get down.

“Oh, no, no, baby. You don’t need to get down. Mommy is absolutely fine.” She said with an assuring smile before sitting up with him in his arms. He clinged to her like a koala.

“What do you mean? You were bleeding profusely just a few hours ago. How can you be fine within a few hours? Let me see,” Suzanne exclaimed with a frown as she got inside the room and walked toward the bed.

Athena went blank for a second thinking how she recovered so quickly. She remembers it very well. She didn’t want to think about that at that moment. She just showed Suzanne her flat and smooth white stomach which had no sign of scratch.

“How’s it possible? I don’t understand.” She said with a frown of confusion.

“We are werewolves, Suzy. It’s normal.” Athena replied with a small shrug of her shoulders while caressing Ace’s hair lovingly. “It is normal unless you are re-…” Suzy couldn’t complete her sentence because of a new voice in the room.

“Unless?” Nathan asked with a raised eyebrow as he stood by the door, not entering the room. Suzanne and Athena looked at each other for a brief second before Suzanne looked at him with a small smile.

“Nothing. Please come inside.”

He walked inside after nodding at Athena with a small smile.

“Hello, Athena. How are you today?” He asked in a polite tone. She gave him a small smile back.

“I am absolutely fine. Thank you for asking.”

“Even though you say you are fine, you need to take complete rest for a few days mo-…” Nathan started talking when Athena cut him off in the middle of his words.

“Oh, about that, I don’t think that will be necessary as I am absolutely alright now. And also w e are going to leave today.” Athena said in a polite yet serious tone. Suzanne looked at her in shock. She and Nathan shared a look before Suzanne looked back at her.

“Athy, what are you talking about? What do you mean by you are going to leave? Where will you be going?” Suzanne asked in a worried tone with a sad look on her face. Because she knew if Athena decided to do that, no one could stop her.

“You are not going to go anywhere, Athena. You are going to stay here.” Nathan said in a serious tone as well.

“No, no. It’s okay. We will leave. We don’t want to bother you anymore.” Athena said with a small smile.

“You are in the Crescent Mystery pack, Athena and only the Alpha had the power to decide it. So, don’t tire yourself with all those thoughts and leave it on him.” Nathan said in a dismissive tone because he knew that nothing else is going to happen other than what Dominic decides.

“But- .” Athena was going to protest immediately when someone entered the room.

Someone she least expected and someone she doesn’t think she is going to like much.

“I would like to talk to her. Leave us alone everyone.”
