ABOUT TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY

Rita’s POV

I spoke to an immigration officer later that day whom rendered a detailed procedure on how to travel to my preferred country. I had also paid every single dime he demanded for in order to make the means rapid since I really wanted to be in Canada this week or latest during the weekend.

I kept it a secret away from Zane while we had our usual random chat and somehow, he observed that there was something I didn’t wanna reveal but he couldn’t pinpoint what it was.

“You have been a little tensed since Evelyn left your place, why?” He inquired.

“Really? Tensed? I don’t know what you’re talking about Zane. I am only just being myself” I buffed.

“Nope sweetheart, there is something you are not telling me. Why did Evelyn come visiting? What did she say to you?” He asked.

“Oh stop tryna poke nose! Evelyn and I discussed about girly stuff, I am so glad she came over here today” I said.

“Hmmn” He maffled.

“You think it has something to do with you?”

“I don’t know” He answered.

“No it doesn’t. That aside, I have a huge surprise for you!” I announced.

“Really? Is it…uhm time already?”

” Time for what?”

“Time for that stuff. That stuff” He said.

“What stuff??” I tried to recollect what he was referring to.

“You said you won’t inform me whenever you wanna send me some s*xy pictures of you. Isn’t that the surprise?” He asked.

“Oh! Not that kind of surprise bad boy! And of course, I will spam you those pictures next time and yes! that is also surprise because I won’t inform you that I am about to surprise you. Don’t you know what a surprise is? A sudden boom!” I expantiated jokingly.

“Alright. What other surprise do you have for me?” He asked further.

“Zane darling, it is called a surprise for a reason. Lucky you, I have given you a head up, so anticipate for the unexpected” I laughed but he hummed suspiciously “Hmmn”

“Apart from speaking with me presently, is there anything you’re doing at the moment?” He asked, changing the topic entirely.

“Nah, I am lazily sprawling on the couch” I said.

“I am lonely and bored too”

“Zane, I wish to go out with you on a cool saturday like today” I told him.

“Yeah. We can go on a date right now. All bills on me. Go to the lovers restaurant over there, I will do the same, we’ll talk to each other over the phone and catch fun. It’s almost like doing the same thing at the same time OVER THE PHONE..”

“Publicly!” I interrupted bluntly.

“We can’t do such when there are people around, they’ll think I am insane. Nah, I don’t buy that idea. The similar routine at home is enough. Don’t worry, we will catch so much fun when we finally meet” I told him euphorically.

“And that reminds me, I will be visiting my parents tomorrow” I lied to Zane, because I needed to be at the immigration office for other physical registrations and clearances.

“Your parents!” He uttered.

“Yeah, it’s been a while I saw them; they miss me so much and I miss them too. I need to go see them”I cleared my throat and added; “I will be pretty much busy tomorrow because they want my attention”

“Oh dear, I understand okay? My regards to your lovely parents”

“Sure, I have told them about you. They can’t wait to meet you”

“Glad to hear that. I cannot wait to meet them too”

The following day, I headed to the immigration office to do and complete the other important stuff, and I was dismissed at the point they told me to await a guaranteed approval email.

On my way back home, I did few shopping, I got beautiful clothes and more lingeries and every other item to surprise my boyfriend whom isn’t even aware of my arrival.

I had declined his several subsequent incoming calls earlier and he didn’t reach out again because he thinks I was at my parents place like I have told him.

But then, Finn also called, I had to pick up the phone

“Hello Finn” I mumbled; I think I’m getting used to speaking to him informally without disrespecting him.

“Please Rita, I’m asking you once again, will you give me a chance in your life? I have been thinking of you, I cannot get you outta my head, I have been crying all day, I am so heartbroken. I really don’t know what to do, the feeling is so deep because I have had it from the first day I set my eyes on you; it.. it is really hard for me to let go of you just like that” He prattled on, literally crying over phone.

I huffed heavily: “What exactly do you want me to do Finn? ditch my boyfriend aside and date you instead?”NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

“I don’t know. I can never get over you even after finding out you are taken. Maybe you just pretend to love me or something, it hurt me more when you show me no love” He rushed his words and paused then added; ” We need to talk Rita”

“Yeah Finn, I.. I actually have something to tell you at work tomorrow, so yeah! We need to talk”

“Oh My God! You wanna tell me something!”

“Uhm, so till then. I am kinda busy at the moment” I hung up the call immediately. Great, he didn’t call me back.

When I got home that day, I was so stressed out. All I wanted to do was to sleep. I left Zane a sweet apology message for not giving him attention today but I am quite sure that he wouldn’t take it seriously because he believed I actually visited my parents.

While he wasn’t active at the moment, I intended to log out of Kikachat when I noticed Janet Johnson’s popped up message. She just informed me about an ongoing virtual meeting on a group chat for only ladies in relationships.

Uugh! I could have just ignored it but never have I attended her meetings, and the few times I have private chatted her revealed how great she really was when it comes to the topic LOVE.

I managed to join the group chat anyways;

“Welcome Miss Rita” She acknowledged my presence right away.

“Thank you Janet Johnson and thank you for always coming through for me and my partner” I answered haven noticed that other members also appreciated her for one or two things.

Janet Johnson is just the best.

“Like I was saying; another way to be sure that you and your partner are meant for each other is..” She continued her discussion.

Great, I joined this conversation at the right time.

“Once your partner knows most of your likes and dislikes, about a 90% especially when you have never made mention of it to him. That’s soulmate bond connecting right there!” She rounded up the communication with such statement and told us to feel free to disclose whatever was bothering our current relationship.

Since I had no issue with mine, I exited Kikachat.

I couldn’t wait any longer, my eyes were heavy.

I was drowsy already.
