Chapter 1174 Show!

"If there's nothing else, then you should go right now."Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

Jennifer gave Kaze a red vest that represented the volunteers.

She was prepared for this and as if she knew Kaze would never say no to her suggestion.

Kaze put on the vest and brought the group of volunteers, also organized by the company's employees, along.

*You guys should go to the Old District. People need more help there. This flood is terrible. A lot of people are still trapped."

"I heard the new mayor is going to remodel the Old District. I wonder when that is happening?"

Kaze and the volunteers were assigned under a group of social workers, who were funded by the local commerce guild.

They were then assigned to the Old District.

"The Old District is dirty and messy. If there's a flood, it will be filthy. Why did we get assigned there?"

"Mr. Lee, you are our CEO, why don't you use your power and get us assigned to a better place?"

"Mind your words. He was our CEO. He is now like us, regular employees..."

"That's enough. You are putting your hopes on him? This is just for show, so just play your part."

The employees of Hudson Investment Firm were unhappy that they were assigned to the Old District.

They were originally asked to play along with Kaze and they thought someone would be there to guide them.

However, other than Kaze, the ex-CEO, no executives were there with them.

They were all elites in the investment world and unlike common employees of other companies, they took pride in their work.

They should be drinking coffee in the office, not cleaning coffee-like water from the streets.

Now they were assigned to clean up probably the dirtiest street in the city.

It was inevitable that they would complain.

Kaze glanced at them but said nothing.

A few complaints would not get them fired, but Kaze would have second thoughts if he needed either of them for a future task.

They arrived at the slums, which were heavily affected by the flood.

The slums' geographical position was lower than other parts of the city.

The water level was as high as a grown man's waist and it showed signs of rising.

Many people were trapped in their houses, waiting for help.

Even though it might be a show, it should be a reality show, or at least that was what Kaze thought.

The employees of Hudson Investment Firm might be slacking on the job but many other volunteers and soldiers gave their hearts in rescuing those trapped.

As the water level rose, Kaze helped the other volunteers and soldiers in pushing the boat out, delivering the victims to safety.

Suddenly, a commotion happened further away.

Another group of red-vested volunteers arrived, but they did not look like they were here to help.

Kaze looked up for a glance and saw a familiar face-Lil Dee.

Lil Dee was also pushing a boat through the thick waters.

On the boat was an elderly person and a crying toddler.

*Sir, can you calm the kid down? We still have a few shots to shoot."

Several cameras were pointing at Lil Dee.

The people with red vests around them looked more like cameramen and production crew members than actual volunteers.

One of them gave Lil Dee a bottle of water as he spoke to the elderly on the boat impatiently.

The elderly person smiled and said, "Sir, my grandson has been shooting for half an hour. The sun is harsh and it's uncomfortable for a child his age. I can't help it either. You guys should wrap it up quickly before anything happens to my grandson...
