Kaze then called Draco in front of the two deputy mayors and requested him to send some troops over to reinforce the city council.

That night, Kaze stayed in the city council and oversaw the entire operation as the commander.

The entire city was awoken as the flood was imminent.

"Mr. Mayor, it's been a whole night. Why don't you get some rest?" Caleb said with a slightly tired tone and bloodshot eyes. He, too, stayed up all night to work.

*Sure. You and Lou can take shifts. Get some rest."

Kaze got up and tapped Caleb's shoulder.

Caleb and Lou performed amazingly throughout the night. They might be schemeful old men but they were capable and could work when required. The key would be how to make use of their capabilities.

After leaving the office, just as Kaze wanted to go home to have breakfast and rest, he received a call. "Mr. Lee, it's been two days since you clocked in, shouldn't you show up today?"

The call was from Jennifer, the deputy manager of Hudson Investment Firm, and she sounded unhappy.

Kaze understood her dissatisfaction.

Ever since he was relieved of his duty as CEO and was made a regular employee, he had not clocked in once at the office.

If one had not known better, one might assume he was protesting against the decision.

"I'll be right there."

Kaze changed his destination to Hudson Investment Firm.

Along the way, almost all the major roads were covered in mud and dirt.

Numerous areas remained flooded, forcing people to navigate carefully along ropes to avoid falling into unseen holes or drains.

"Look at this!"

When Kaze arrived at the office and saw Jennifer, he was given a stack of newspapers.

"What are these?" Kaze curiously went through the newspapers.

"Lilyrose's Hundred-Year Storm. Snyder International Hospital and others organized medical personnel to help the people of Lilyrose..."

*The ambassador of Snyder International Hospital, Lil Dee, stood in the front line in the face of the flood, supporting the people of Lilyrose."

"Merciless Storm! Respect for the volunteers of Lee Investment!"

All the headlines were about the same topic.

Snyder International Hospital was one of the six private hospitals that Lee Investment acquired.

Based on its name alone, one could easily tell it was Victoria International Hospital's sister hospital.

Lil Dee was the ambassador for all the hospitals.

The newspapers were Lee Investment's promotional pamphlets.

"Lilyrose Prime Hospital, Lilyrose Wholeness Medical Center, and the orthopedic hospital sent volunteers to the

front line as well to help the people. There were also many other volunteers and soldiers who participated in the operation...

"Why were they not mentioned in the newspapers? They only reported the private hospitals that Lee Investment owned. One might assume the newspapers were working for them," Kaze said coldly.

Even a blind man could see what Samson was trying to do.

"I don't care about the hospitals. Mr. Lee, aren't you slacking on the job?"

Jennifer pouted and continued, "Lee Investment is already ahead of us. Hudson Investment Firm must keep up!

"Since you have so much time on your hands, I'll assign you this task. You shall represent our company and volunteer at the front line. You are not bringing in any sales or benefits for the company, so why not contribute your strength and promote our company's public image?"

"Of course."

Kaze did not mind the slight contempt in Jennifer's tone.

He could use the chance to have a better look at the front line, finding out how the soldiers and volunteers were doing to help the people.

It would be better for him to see it with his own eyes.
