From Sneers to Cheers: Anthea’s Ascent (Anthea )

Chapter 408

Anthea nodded in agreement.

Lizzie's eyes widened in disbelief. "Holy cow! For real?"

"You think I'm joking?" Anthea raised an eyebrow slightly.

It wasn't that Lizzie thought Anthea was kidding.

She assumed Anthea was just trying to comfort Tanya, to help her keep her spirits up while she recuperated.

But, to her surprise, Anthea was dead serious.

"Annie, you're amazing! I can't even! I'm latching onto your coattails! Before you hit the big time, you gotta sign a bunch of autographs for me, okay? Once you're famous, these will be collector's items!"

Anthea laughed. "Sure, I'll start with a thousand. If that's not enough, we'll make it two thousand."

Lizzie was over the moon. "If I sell each signature for a grand, that's two million! Call me a millionaire from now on!"

They joked around as they walked on.

Soon, they arrived at the bus stop.

Since their homes were in opposite directions, they parted ways there.

An hour later, Anthea arrived home.

Just as she rang the doorbell, the door swung open.

It was Little White, "Welcome back, beautiful big Annie! Can I interest you in a glass of iced tea?"

"Sure, I'll take one," Anthea replied in a calm tone.

Little White quickly handed her a glass of iced tea, then said, "Big Annie, someone's been snooping around for you!"

"Who?" Anthea asked, sipping her iced tea, her expression unchanged.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

"Some super advanced system, but no matter how fancy it is, it's got nothing on me! I'm the numero uno in the universe! It even tried to attack me! I sent it packing so fast, it's probably licking its wounds right now!"

With that, Little White snickered.

Anthea raised an eyebrow, "You're just a vacuum cleaner, you know. Isn't this a bit over the top?"

"All thanks to the excellent programming by my owner."

Anthea: "..." Was there a glitch in the system or something?

But the system Little White mentioned must be Rebecca Morris's hacking tool.

Anthea was currently preoccupied with Tanya's situation and didn't have time to deal with Rebecca. She decided to let Little White keep her entertained for the time being. Once Tanya's matter was resolved, she would deal with Rebecca.

After finishing her iced tea, Anthea sent the lung cancer treatment plan to Abbey.

Abbey immediately accepted the file.

After receiving the material, Abbey got to work straight away.

Some tasks she delegated to her team, but others she had to do herself.

Fortunately, Director Clement had given her a heads up, so the tech and IT departments didn't give her any trouble.

Seeing her bustle about so

dedicatedly, a colleague tried to warn her, "Abbey, don't be naive! This is an impossible task. You don't want to end up with nothing and cause a commotion."

Abbey just smiled, "Carmela, I appreciate your concern, but I've made up my mind. I can't give up halfway."

Carmela sighed, wanting to say

more, but Susie came over, her voice dripping with sarcasm, "Carmela, since Abbey's made up her mind, let's not bother. Haven't you realized it yet? Abbey's the type who won't stop until she hits a wall. Ou medical community always talks about miracles, right? What if a

miracle happens this time?"

Miracles? If miracles were that common, they wouldn't be called miracles.

Susie and Abbey had always been at odds.

One had international credentials; the other was a top domestic talent.

In theory, Abbey's skills shouldn't compare to Susie's.

Yet, Abbey never seemed to fall short of Susie.

They were evenly matched rivals.

Susie, always proud and lofty, couldn't stand being outshone by a nobody.

So, she often sought ways to undermine Abbey.

But Abbey wasn't a pushover, and Susie rarely got the better of her.

Now, Abbey had seemingly embarked on a path of no return.

Was Susie supposed to feel sorry?

Without Abbey, no one would steal her limelight again.

Abbey seemed smart enough on the surface, but at a crucial moment, her brain seemed to short-circuit. Perhaps she was just desperate for fame. Otherwise, why would she demean herself to be an assistant to a young upstart?

Ridiculous!

As she finished speaking, Susie added, "We're all colleagues herez Abbey, don't worry. If this incident falls back on you, I'll make sure to organize a farewell party for you."

Abbey looked up at Susie, a confident smile on her lips, "I appreciate the thought, Doctor, but I'd rather invite you to a celebration party with Ms. Yeager."

"A celebration party?" Susie chuckled, "Abbey, take a look outside. It's still daylight."
