Chapter 411
Clay clenched his teeth in frustration, feeling the last shred of hope crumble inside him. It looked like the folks at Stonnell International were really backing Gregory. With their support, Gregory would be strutting around like he owned the place!
He felt a pang of sympathy for Aisha, but he failed to notice the calm that settled over her the moment Moss and Beck walked in. A hint of a smile even danced in her eyes.
"Please, make yourselves comfortable in the meeting room. Mr. Gregory will join you shortly to discuss the details of the simulation robot program."
Moss narrowed his eyes, turning to Gregory. "Did you create this program?"
Gregory was taken aback, not expecting this question from Moss.NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
"As far as I know, this program wasn't your creation." Moss kept his usual smile, but his words were sharp and straightforward. "Taking credit for someone else's work, Mr. Gregory, is even more shameless than I imagined."
"Utterly despicable," Beck chimed in coldly, his disdain evident.
Gregory's smile froze. The shareholders behind him didn't dare to breathe too loudly, their anxiety palpable.
Why were the Stonnell International reps so openly demeaning Gregory? To anyone unaware, it might seem like they were sworn enemies. Yet, if they thought so little of Gregory, why would they invest in Gale Corporation just to save face for him?
Moss's gaze swept over the crowd until it landed on Aisha, almost hidden among the throng of people. He stepped towards her, with Beck following closely, not sparing Gregory a single glance. It was clear they had no respect for him.
The shareholders were puzzled, their gazes instinctively following Moss and Beck. They watched as the two men stopped in front of Aisha.
"Miss Aisha."
Their tone was one of utmost respect, a stark contrast to their disdain for Gregory.
"Moss, Beck, it's been a while." Aisha maintained a perfect smile.
Hearing their familiar tones, Gregory and the shareholders almost couldn't believe their ears. It seemed like they had suddenly realized something.
Previously, when Stonnell International had called, they said they were investing in the simulation robot project for "Mr. Gregory's" sake. They had assumed "Mr. Gregory" referred to Gregory himself, but it appeared they meant Aisha!
"Please thank Mr. Connor for me."
Aisha kept her smile, though her eyes felt a bit swollen. Now was not the time to cry. Connor had done so much just so she could hold her head up high at Gale Corporation, and she intended to keep her composure.
"Mr. Connor said you're like a sister to him. There's no need for thanks," Moss's voice was loud enough for all the shareholders to hear. Their anxiety grew, realizing Aisha's relationship with Stonnell International might be closer than they had imagined.
"Mr. Connor also mentioned that if Miss Aisha wishes to express her gratitude, it should be directed towards Ray."
Lately, Ray had been quite persistent with Connor, whispering a lot of sweet nothings in his ear.
At the mention of Ray, Aisha pressed her lips together, choosing not to respond.
"Mr. Gregory, the folks from Club 257 are here!"
Just then, someone from the front desk rushed in with the news.
Gregory's spirits lifted instantly! If Stonnell International was here for Aisha, it couldn't be that Club 257 was too! Aisha might have Stonnell International, but he had Club 257. It wasn't a complete loss.
