Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 396

Flora changed into her everyday clothes, slung her bag over her shoulder, and announced, "I've got something else to take care of. I'm heading out now."

"Hey, we still have the award ceremony and photo session coming up. Where are you off to?" Cynthia quickly grabbed her arm. Flora's dance performance had caused quite a stir earlier; she was undoubtedly going to take first place.

The top three winners would receive their awards personally from Rafael. Such a moment of glory that many could only dream of!

"I've got a meeting with my fiancé," Flora said with a hint of annoyance. "You guys can accept the award on my behalf."

With that, she strode away, leaving Cynthia and the others speechless. Busy with her fiancé... Why did they feel like they were being fed a mouthful of dog food?

...

Flora exited the school gates and walked less than thirty meters to her left before she saw Connor's car parked by the roadside. She opened the rear door and got in.

Connor was sitting with his legs crossed, a laptop resting on his lap, displaying a video of Flora's dance performance at the welcome party. Seeing Flora, he closed the laptop and slightly turned his face towards her.

Her makeup was heavier than usual for her performance today, with large glitter particles on her eyelids sparkling in the dim light of the car. Her cheeks were flushed, adding a charm to her usually unadorned beauty.

Flora looked at him and blinked. "Mr. Connor, you've been staring at me for a minute now."

"Ah." Connor chuckled. "My fiancée is so beautiful, a lifetime of looking wouldn't be enough."Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

Moss and Beck, sitting in the front, silently agreed; as single folks, they felt particularly cursed in that moment.

"Drive, let's head back to Bayshore," Connor directed.

"Right away," Moss started the car.

Connor took out a makeup removal kit. "Take off your makeup. The products on your face are of poor quality and harmful to your skin."

The makeup, applied by a professional artist, was not exactly low-end and certainly better than the cheap products typically used at parties. But Connor still felt it was substandard for Flora's skin. Flora glanced at the makeup kit, which was more comprehensive than what most girls had. "You do it," she said, leaning back in her seat, sounding lazy.

Connor took out the eye and lip makeup remover, soaked a cotton pad, and gently pressed it on Flora's eyelids and lips. After five seconds, he removed it, and all the makeup eyeshadow, mascara, and lipstick was gone, leaving her face clean.

Flora sat there, letting him work. His movements were gentle and skilled, swiftly cleaning her face. Feeling Connor applying skincare products and massaging her face, better than any professional beauty salon, Flora was so relaxed she was nearly asleep.

She straddled him, her arms around his neck. "Be honest, how come you know so much about skincare for girls?"

Freshly applied skincare left her face fragrant; her words carried a pleasant scent.

"It's just part of being a good partner, isn't it?" Connor, holding her waist, gazed at her with his dark, slightly moist eyes.

Flora smiled. "Mr. Connor being so diligent, I guess I have to reward you."

She leaned closer, her lips lightly touching his, deliberately rubbing them against his before gently biting his lip. Connor's eyes darkened instantly.
