All Skylar could think about was how heartbroken Susan would be after hearing that. She was truly loyal to Tobias, and she had worked for him for such a long time.

Eva was also Tobias' assistant, but as far as Skylar knew, Tobias did not seem to value Eva much. Every time he went on a business trip, Eva did not go with him.

With Eva's competitive streak, Skylar was certain that Eva already thought of Susan as an eyesore.

Ultimately, Penelope was dragged out of the bed by Skylar. The latter could not believe that her assistant woke up later than her.

Even after Penelope got into the car, she was still half-asleep. Her groggy eyes were filled with sleepy tears.

“Skylar, did you end up sleeping the night before? How did you wake up so early? Did you end up doing it with him the entire night?”

As Skylar passed a can of red bull to Penelope, she huffed. “Nothing happened last night. We just slept.”

Penelope did not believe Skylar's words, however. If she had not knocked on their door the night before, she was sure Tobias would have taken off his underwear.

It was only after Skylar left did Susan enter Tobias' room to prepare the things that Tobias needed that day.

When she saw the opened but unused condom on the bedside table, she kept it in the drawer.

Then, she spotted Skylar's changed underwear tossed at a spot near Tobias' pillow.

It was proof of Skylar and Tobias' closeness, for Tobias was a germaphobe.

Once, Susan accidentally drank from Tobias' bottle. As his long-time assistant, she reckoned that should not matter as they were intimate with one another.

Nevertheless, Tobias still threw the bottle into the trash can when he saw that. He was not at all concerned about what she felt.

Skylar's identity card was left in the hotel, as well as her phone charger. Still, with a hand in his pocket, Tobias dotingly said, “The girl keeps leaving things around, but she ended up hiring an idiot of an assistant and making things worse for herself.”

Susan had seen Skylar's assistant, Penelope. Sure enough, Penelope seemed a little dense and was not capable. Even a simple reservation of a room took her eons to complete.

“Why don't you help Skylar out? She seems to like you.”

Upon hearing that, Susan dropped Skylar's identity card, but she quickly leaned over to pick it up again.

When she glanced at Skylar's age, she mused, How nice it is to be young. Tobias is over ten years older than her, so he can dote on her.

Susan did not think that Tobias was joking with her, for Tobias was never one to joke or say anything unnecessary.

Disappointment filled her heart. She had worked so hard for Tobias all these years until she was plagued by all kinds of health issues. As long as Tobias was working overtime, she would stay by his side.

Susan never yearned for more—for their relationship to be taken to a different level. She was smart. All she wished was for her career to be smooth sailing until it was time for her to retire.

Over time, people would grow feelings for animals, let alone humans. Yet, Tobias was giving her away as if she was an item just because Skylar seemed to like her.

With those thoughts in mind, Susan remained quiet. Tobias did the same as he waited for Susan to answer. He felt that Skylar needed someone like Susan, who would be able to make appropriate arrangements for her life. That way, Skylar would not continue her life in a confused daze.
