Ethan’s Vengeance of Love

Chapter 126

Chapter 126

“Huh? No way? Did Alice actually set her sights on someone?” Upstairs, Irvin glanced at Ethan and grinned like the cat that got the cream. Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Ethan looked at Alice while something briefly flashed across his narrowed eyes.

Although they had not spent much time together since getting married, he had come to know her well and was aware that she always acted sensibly.

“Is that so? Well, would you like to share with us which one caught your interest?” Amelia was secretly pleased and convinced that Alice had fallen right into her trap. Nevertheless, Amelia kept a kind smile to conceal her true intentions.

“I believe all the gentlemen present here are exceptional individuals.” Alice looked at Amelia and blinked with a serious expression. “Don’t you agree, Aunt Amelia?”

“That’s a rather disappointing response.” Upstairs, Irvin raised his eyebrow as he was expecting more drama. “I thought she was interested in that young master, but her answer is vague and unremarkable.”

Ethan’s lips curved slightly. If one looked closely, one would notice a hint of pleasure in his expression.

Unremarkable? How could it be unremarkable? He knew Alice well enough that she wouldn’t speak without purpose, especially in a situation like this. So, he suspected that she had something more to say.

“You’re right, Alice.” Amelia’s smile appeared somewhat forced as she did not anticipate such an answer from her.

Alice flashed a brilliant smile at Amelia and added intentionally, “Otherwise, how could Emma be friends with every one of them?”

“Pfft, that’s some ruthless remark.” Instantly, Irvin burst out laughing from upstairs. As he originally thought Alice’s response was uninteresting, he did not expect that there would be a twist to the situation.

Ethan’s eyes also lit up with a smile. Yes, that’s definitely Little Fox’s style!

Meanwhile, the people downstairs heard what she said and laughed unkindly.

Emma obviously realized that everyone was laughing at her. Her face turned almost livid with anger, and she felt an intense urge to kill Alice.

Amelia was also seething with anger, but she dared not show any emotion and had to maintain a kind and amiable demeanor for the occasion. “Please enjoy our family banquet, Alice.”

At the moment, she believed that the best course of action was to stop talking to Alice. She was genuinely afraid that Alice might say something else.

“Okay, Aunt Amelia,” Alice answered obediently.

Amelia gritted her teeth in seething anger and made a silent vow to exact revenge on Alice later.

She was so determined to teach Alice a lesson that she was willing to abandon her own name and identity if she failed, even though she was aware that Elijah had his plans in store.

“Ethan, we’ve been watching the show for a while now. Should we head downstairs? After all, you’re here to accompany Alice to the banquet. You can’t just stand here and watch on.” Irvin felt that it was time for Ethan to make an appearance.

Meanwhile, Emma and Rebecca decided to leave without provoking Alice any further as they didn’t want to risk any more confrontation.

A hint of complexity flickered in Bruce’s gaze as he looked toward Alice. “Did you do it on purpose?”

She glanced at him but didn’t respond, believing she didn’t owe him any explanation.

This time, he didn’t feel angry as a peculiar glint appeared in his eyes instead. He wondered if she had done it intentionally to create conflict between him and Emma. If that was the case, it could only mean that she had feelings for him and hoped to marry him.

Bruce examined Alice. She does have a good figure, and the scar on her face isn’t so obvious with makeup. He believed he could accept her as a partner but wouldn’t consider marrying her as he viewed her as someone whom he could toy with or use as eye candy.

However, he seemed to forget that she didn’t just end his relationship with Emma; she also ended all of Emma’s backup relationships.

Concurrently, Alice paid no attention to Bruce. Having achieved her goal, she had no interest in him and left.

“Hey, you…” He hesitated to call her back as he thought it might be too sudden and decided to hold himself back.

Irvin and Ethan arrived at the banquet hall entrance, with Irvin going in first.

Ethan didn’t rush in. The way Alice had just handled Emma made him strongly suspect that she was the woman he had met seven years ago, but he didn’t have any concrete evidence to prove his suspicions.

However, he wasn’t discouraged and decided to take a different approach—the strategy of “boiling a frog slowly,” which he had heard of somewhere.

Emma was visibly surprised when she saw Irvin in the banquet hall, for he wasn’t on the guest list. The Thorne Family didn’t interact much with the Wolands, so it was unlikely that anyone from the Thornes would attend even if they were invited.

Her surprise turned to excitement upon seeing him, and she quickly walked up to him with a smile. “Mr. Thorne, you’re here! I…”

She greeted Irvin with a dazzling smile and a soft tone as she was convinced that her charm and status would make him view her differently.

Since Alice had ruined all of Emma’s backup relationships, Emma desperately needed to find a new potential partner.

“You’re in my way.” Irvin glanced at her as if she were a pile of rubbish.

As he and Ethan had overheard Emma conspiring with a server to harm Alice earlier on the third floor, Irvin was repulsed by how Emma was trying to act innocent in front of him.

Irvin’s sudden appearance caught everyone’s attention, and they were initially a bit jealous when they saw Emma approaching him. However, their envy quickly turned into amusement when they heard what he said, and some women even burst out laughing.

Emma was so ashamed that she wished she could disappear into a hole in the ground. Meanwhile, Irvin paid no attention to her and simply walked away, leaving the mocking laughter from the crowd even more apparent.

As Charles had not yet appeared, Alice couldn’t leave in a hurry. Instead, she found a corner to sit and wait for him.

Irvin observed that many men were fixated on Alice as she sat in the corner and snorted. What are you all looking at? That’s Ethan’s woman. You have no right to look at her!

He believed that every one of them was clearly asking for trouble and as he was thinking this, he noticed Ethan walking in. Then, he suddenly raised his voice and called out. “Yo, bro, over here.”

When everyone heard Irvin, they were shocked and turned their eyes to see Ethan entering.

Despite Ethan’s usual low profile, some of those present recognized him. Furthermore, some were able to deduce Ethan’s identity with Irvin’s honorific address.
