Enough For Him

Chapter 28

I turned to go fetch my shirt “I’m fine I just got tired that’s all. You can let the teachers know I’m fine” it was probably the teachers worrying about me.

I finally got my t shirt on when I opened my eyes surprised to see Leon so close to me.

“They didn’t ask me to come here Liz, I was worried about you” he spoke so gently his hand coming up to press my shoulder.

I smiled “Worried? I just felt a bit tired. Didn’t Hailey let you know?” I said moving back letting his hand drop back to his side.

That reminds me I need to let her know I’m safe. I grabbed my phone typing a message.

“I didn’t stay long enough for her to tell me” he said. He isn’t that close to Hailey so there’s no reason really its not like me and Leon are close either.

“unless you want to watch me sleep you can go now” I don’t know if that was rude, but I wasn’t quite sure why he was so bothered about me leaving.

He had this habit of running his hand through his hair when he was annoyed.

“you don’t get it do you, you don’t realise how much I like you Liz”

Excuse me

Liz Lizzy, Charlize wake up baby” my eyes snapped open hearing my name. I woke up inside. Leon knelt beside the sofa his hand caressing my cheek.

I realised that I was soaking wet, my clothes sticking to me and my face all wet. I looked outside and it was raining hard.

“how long was I out there” I said sitting up only to have a pounding headache.

Leon ran his hand through his hair. “I donk know It took longer than expected to get jay to sleep, I didn’t realise it was raining”

I stared at him before smiling. He leant back. “don’t, this is serious you need to get out of these clothes before you get sick” he said irritated. He stood up taking my arm.

“I’m fine” I said removing his hand, only for him to grab me harder.

He led me to the room with our bags in. I watched him go into the bathroom coming out with a robe and towel.

“change into these” he instructed me before walking out leaving me alone.

Instead of doing what I told I just stood there smiling.

When I heard his coming back, I quickly ran into the bathroom locking it and leaning against it.

“stubborn woman” I heard him mutter before leaving. I had to cover my mouth so he wouldn’t hear me laugh.

If he knew what I was dreaming about when I managed to sleep whilst it was raining.

Back to the day when I got my first kiss from the renowned bachelor of our school.

I peeled off my dress and ran a bath hoping that this would cure any sign of illness, the last thing I want is to be sick on this trip.

After soaking for about 15 minutes I climbed out and wrapped the robe around my waist and changed into sweats for the night.

I walked out the room looking for Jayson. He was sleeping quietly in the next room a panda bear between his arms.

I walked over to the kitchen and opened the fridge. “did you want a drink Leon” I called over to where I saw him sitting with his phone.

He mumbled a “no thanks”

I decided to just bring him a glass of water placing it on the table beside him.

I was minding my own business, but I was also sneaking a look at what he was doing seeing him posting that picture on Instagram.

It wasn’t long before it was getting likes and comments.

“where’s my photo credit “I said nudging his shoulder with mine. Obviously, I didn’t care but I just wanted to cheer him up. I didn’t know why he was so bothered about what happened. I was probably there for 10 minutes tops.

Still nothing.

“you haven’t posted in years you probably don’t know how to do it” I said grabbing his phone and doing it myself.

“Charlize” he barked reaching over to get it back, but I shoved it behind my back.

“get it then” I raised my eyes at his seeing him glaring it me.

He mumbled something and stood up and walking out.

I sat there stuck on what to do. Here was me thinking we could act normal until getting back home. But I know that Leon wants so much more from this trip.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

And the shittiest thing about it is that I want the exact same thing.

He was acting like a child slamming cupboard in the kitchen.

I stood up and watched him lean against the counter his back tense, his neck bend forward.

“Leon” I called to him.

If it was even possible, he tensed even more.

“I didn’t bring it up because it could never compare to what I did to you. You carried our baby for 9 months in so much pain. You couldn’t do what you loved. I was pathetic enough to be jealous of my own kid” he slammed the wine glass down onto the counter.

“Leon” I shouted watching the glass shatter his fingers covered in the glass. I raced towards him grabbing his hand.

I immediately washed the blood away under the cold water. Is he insane?

“I’m crazy to think that you will ever let me back into your life. I don’t deserve you Liz not in a million years. A real man would treat you way better than I ever could. I know that you can move on and find someone else, you’re beautiful and intelligent” his voice cracked just like that glass.

His voice so fragile I struggled to breathe.

“You call me stubborn” I whispered grabbing the first aid kit and grabbing a few plasters.

I covered his cuts careful not to hurt his even more. When I was done, I left the kitchen. How could he even say that? like it would be so easy for me to forget him and move on.
