Enough For Him

To the point where I made the biggest mistake. I kissed a boy that wasn’t Leon and found myself on that boy’s sofa the next morning.

I was so close to giving up on my search for him when I spotted him walking towards his uncle’s car.

I ran over to him, shouting his name hoping he would wait for me.

I grabbed his arm “wait, please let me explain Leon” I said forcing him to look at me.

His uncle who I had met once before looked at us and quietly walked over to a bench outside giving us some privacy.

Leon used his strength and snatched his arm back “and say what, I have spent weeks trying to work with you Charlize” I winced when he said my whole name. He hasn’t done that in forever.

“you wanted to keep us a secret and I did that for you because I care about you. But you have no prob-lem in kissing that prick, how could you” he snarled at me. he stepped back wanting to create distance between us.

“I’m sorry Leon, I didn’t know what I was thinking. I saw you with Leila and that’s no excuse, but I was jealous and the next thing I knew he was kissing me” I tried to defend myself.

I had hoped that he would believe me.

“Leila is my ex, you’re my fucking girlfriend. I didn’t know you were so fucking pathetic” he shouted. I closed my eyes hating his tone.

I had heard his shout at people before but never at me.

“son calm down” Leon’s uncle ran to my side. When his uncle grasped my arm pulling me back Leon’s eyes were furious.

“I wouldn’t hurt her; I would never lay my hands on her,” he told his uncle.

He wouldn’t.

“I’m sorry Leon. I am pathetic I should have trusted you since you’ve done so much for me, I regret it I’m so sorry” I leapt forward wrapping my arms around Leon.

His body was frigid and cold.

“I’m not good enough for you Leon, I’ve tried to tell you that. I’m not ideal girlfriend material and you deserve someone stronger than me” I cried into his shoulder letting all my insecurities spill out.

I wish I could be strong but I’m anything but strong.

Slowly I felt Leon’s arms wrap around me. “Shh, baby don’t cry. I’m sorry for shouting. You’re not pathet-ic you’re amazing it’s okay” he spoke slowly into my ear his hands rubbing my back.

Am I a hypocrite for being so mad at him for doing exactly what I did all those years ago?

Leon has always had the kindest and most loving heart especially when it comes to me.

My attention broke away from Leon when I realised Jayson was tugging on my dress. I leaned down stroking his cheek. “Hey, baby, did you want some ice cream” at the words ice cream he smiled jumping up and down.

“yes, mama please,” he said excitedly. Leon laughed from beside me and that instantly made me forget about what I was thinking.

After a few minutes walking around, we ended up at a stall that was selling ice cream. Jayson picked out his flavours and watched with interest as the lady made his ice cream. When I saw the amount, she was putting in the cone I was alarmed.

It was already late, and that ice cream was going to keep Jayson up for the rest of the night and I wasn’t sure whether I would be able to handle that.

Leon grasped my arm before I could stop her “Let him have it, it’s a holiday anyways” I watched at Jayson’s happy smiling face and I knew he was right.

“alright, but it’s your job to get him to sleep tonight” I said nudging him, wanting to create a positive atmosphere. We still haven’t spoken about our conversation, but I think we can wait to get back home until we do.

He grinned at me “You make it sound like it’s a challenge, the boy loves me” he said paying the woman.

Don’t I know it. A total daddy’s boy.

We continued our walk. I was at a total loss for words at the scenery here. The evenings were definitely the most beautiful.

I was staring out in the distance when I turned to find Leon with his phone up. He mouthed smile, to me and took a picture of me.

I smiled letting him take the picture of me. this reminded me of back in school on that trip.

“My turn, your Instagram is full of business posts you need them to know that you’re actually capable of having fun” I said standing back to get a good picture of him.

he glared over at me, but I could see the smile starting to appear. I took the perfect shot of him smirking over at me.

I stared down at the picture with a smile. “send that to me” he said coming over. I sent it to him through messenger.

“I’ll race you home daddy” Jayson screamed when the villa came into view. Jayson sprinted down the path his father hot on his tails.

I watched them both with happiness. Jayson’s laughter was infectious.

When we arrived back, we played out in the pool for a bit. I was laying down reading a blog post when I watched Leon carrying a sleepy Jayson.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

I started to get up, but he put his hand up “It’s okay, I’ll get him down you relax here” I nodded as he turned around heading inside.

He’s really proving to be an amazing father. Its making it extremely difficult for me to come up with any reason to not let him back in. to not only Jayson’s life but also mine.

The cool breeze and fresh night air were making me feel sleepy. I couldn’t help but close my eyes and catch maybe a few minutes.

Hailey will you tell everyone I’m heading back to the hotel” I said standing up from the booth. The school trip was proving to be very hectic, I barely had time to relax.

“sure, text me when you’re in the room” she said before turning to the others. I grabbed my bag and made my way out of the restaurant that we were in.

As soon as I closed the door to the room, I kicked off my shoes and peeled off the t shirt I was wearing leaving me in my bikini top and shorts.

A gentle knock made me turn around. Maybe Hailey decided to join me instead. I wouldn’t blame her she’s spent most of her time flirting with Kaleb.

Its proving to be much harder than she originally thought.

I went over to the door and opened it.

“Leon? What are you doing here?” I asked staring at Leon who stood innocently outside my door.

I opened the door letting him come inside. I haven’t seen much of him since arriving mainly because the girls and boys split up.

“I saw you leave the group, I wanted to make sure you’re okay” he said turning to me. I suddenly realised what I was wearing.
