Enchanted Nightfall: Falling for Destiny

Chapter 354

Manny shook his head, "I'd better do your makeup now. Your scene is coming up soon; we can't have any delays."

Manny's skills with makeup had grown remarkably. It was no longer like when he first started following Quintessa. Makeup on modern looks was easy, especially since Quintessa naturally had a great canvas to work on, making his job much quicker.

As he adjusted her makeup with some bronzer, Manny asked, "Sis, Violet said we should find another female assistant because sometimes I can't keep up with you alone, and there are things that are inconvenient for me as a man."

"Sure, hiring another assistant sounds good. It'll take some of the load off you."

Manny beamed, "Thanks, Quinn. And, uh, if I find someone suitable, can I introduce them?"

"Of course, but you know the conditions."

"Don't worry, Quinn. If they're not up to par, I won't even bring them over for you to see. Thanks sis."

Quintessa finished her makeup routine and shut her eyes, silently running through her lines until the director called, "Quinn, get ready."

She opened her eyes and got up.

After a long night of shooting that stretched into the early hours, Quintessa finally got back to the hotel, managed a quick shower, and fell into bed exhausted.

She had intended to just sleep through but forced herself to get up again, grabbing a face mask Mrs. York had given her. Slapping it on her face without much care for accuracy, she collapsed back onto the bed.

As Quintessa drifted off, she thought: keeping up with these daily face masks was quite troublesome!

Sean had been loitering outside the Harmony Retreat all night, smoking and littering the ground with cigarette butts.

After staying up all night, his eyes were bloodshot, making his glare intimidating when he looked at people.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

Up to now, Quintessa hadn't sent him the money, leading him to suspect she might just be playing him.

Sean's brain, deprived of rest all night, was now throbbing with pain.

The security guard at the gatehouse wondered why, if this man was indeed Ms. Young's father, he didn't ever have his daughter's phone number?

Having smoked the last cigarette in the pack, Sean got up, cast one last venomous look toward the residential complex, then turned and left.

Returning home, Rachel had just woken up. Rachel could tell from his appearance what had happened.

"Bro, you spent another night outside Quintessa's neighborhood entrance, didn't you? And didn't see her?"

Sean didn't say anything, his face cold as he headed upstairs.

"She promised you money but didn't give it to you, did she?"

"That bitch, do you really think we can trust anything she says? Getting her to help you or our family is impossible, unless we catch her with something lethal."

Sean paused, "Rachel, I know you've been investigating her lately. Have you found any dirt?"

After a sleepless night and a night of smoking, Sean's voice was harsh and unpleasant when he spoke.

Rachel smirked, "Not yet, but I have a feeling it won't be long."

Suddenly, the doorbell rang. The two exchanged glances. Who could it be at this hour?

Rachel went to answer it, finding several people in police uniforms standing outside, which immediately set off alarms in her mind.

"Rachel felt a sense of foreboding "May I ask who you're looking for?"

"We're looking for a Mr. Sean."

After a moment of hesitation, Rachel let them in.

"You're Sean, correct?" one officer asked as they entered.

Sean, seeing the officers, felt a of brand he couldn't help b in a cold sweat, "Yes s me. What can I do for you?"
