Denied by Destiny: Trapped in the Shadows of the Mate Bond

Chapter 115

Kaia POV

I had spent the next few days planning Alora's ceremony to join the pack. Usually joining the pack didn't have such a celebration unless you were the Alpha's mate coming from another pack...but the returning lost daughter of the Alpha was a reason to celebrate. It was difficult to have all pack members attend, as they would at a more secure pack, but I had managed to organise a rota that would keep us safe and also let everybody attend. As long as eyes remained on the borders at all times

everyone could share on this marvellous event.

Father had suggested an outdoor event, where music was to play loudly, drinks were to keep flowing and food was to be roasting before our very eyes.

I had ticked off all of his requests...adding a few myself.

I had asked some of the female house staff to help Alora get ready, doing her hair and makeup

already ordered the perfect dress for her from a local clothes store that I have good connections with. I

I had.

didn't want Alora to worry about a thing, just concentrate on the event itself.

We hadn't invited guests outside of the pack, this was a pack member event and it felt appropriate to look after our own and celebrate our own tonight rather than work on policitical status for a change. It was freeing to not have to look over my shoulders and think ahead. eyes. We were

I had created an aisle for her to walk down, no seats...the ceremony wouldn't last long and all would remain standing as Alora pledged herself to the pack from the slightly raise stage I had installed this morning.

Large white hydrangeas decorated the area along with self standing candle lit lanterns and white paper lanterns dotted around high above adorned with fairy lights. For an evening ceremony on a hot day...it worked out beautifully.

"I think you deserve this..." Samson walks over offering the wine glass in his hand. He was right, I needed it I had been flat out arranging this. I went above and beyond Father's request...I know I had. This was the beginning of a new era...a clean slate. This was about the 3 of us now...us as a family, finally reunited.

I had been feeling anxious all afternoon, that knot in the middle of my stomach just wanting everything to go to plan.

"I definitely needs this, thank you Samson. I've been anxious all afternoon, I'm actually looking forward to letting my hair down tonight." I beam up at him as I take a long sip on the crisp cold wine. 1

"Then you'll let me have the first dance with you tonight, before the queue gets too long. "Ha...a queue of who? Father...or you...or Father..." I chuckle before realising he was being serious. "Yes, a dance would be nice..." I smile peering around him as Alora starts to make her entrance. She looked beautiful as she walked from the alpha house, Father escorting her through the crowd. She was nervous, I didn't need the pack bond to know that, having spent more time with her...I was

picking up on the twin bond that was growing by the day.

Something that a childhood together should have made strong, indestructible...but we had now.

"Today we mark not just 1 miracle but 2...my daughter that I had thought lost at birth has returned home to me and now she makes our pack even stronger by pledging her allegiance to us. She will join her older sister Luna Kaia in supporting our cause, and defending our people." Father bellows out into the crowd. There's a loud cheer from the crowd before Father continues, turning to Alora and slicing her palm open with a dagger...placing his hand within hers. His blood entering her system. "Alora, I need you to repeat after me...I Alora Glace, Daughter of Beckett Glace, Alpha of the Nightshade Reformed pack do pledge my allegiance...

"1. Alora Glace..." She pauses for a moment, taking a deep breath in before continuing.

"Daughter of Beckett Glace, Alpha of the Nightshade Reformed pack do pledge my allegiance..."

"and swear to defend the pack's lands and beliefs for the remainder of my life."

It was the ending that I had never given much thought of before, remainder of my life. I had to say it, it was the exact same words I pledged.....but knowing Alora's life could end any day...the words left a sour taste in the mouth.

I could feel her pack link spark to life, as the crowd cheered, clapped and whistled. She was now an official pack member...an official member of the alpha family.

Her eyes find me in the crowd, as I stand near the pack with Samson watching over proceedings.

"Come join us on stage..." She gestures to me through the pack link, as I hear her voice within my head. A small smile forms upon my lips, from feeling closer to my own twin sister.

Handing Samson my glass of wine I push through the crowd that were now in the mood to celebrate. I step on to the stage, as Father places a kiss on my cheek and raises my hand up high with his.

"Let us give thanks to Luna Kala for arranging our celebrations this evening, and for being the one to reunite me with my daughter, her twin sister." The crowd of pack members continue to applaud as I bashfully nod.

"Now let the celebrations begin!" Father roars out in laughter as he steps away and down into the crowd... the pack members patting him on the back and walking him towards the drinks stand.

Everything had gone smoothly, every part of my plans so why did I still have that feeling in my stomach... that feeling that I had thought was nerves for this evening, of Alora backing out last minute.

Why, when things had gone perfectly, when I can now feel her through the pack bond...why was that feeling only deepening.
