I am Jealous

“Am I Jealous?”Jessica asked herself. Her hands moved to throw away the blanket that covered her body. Although the air conditioner was on, her body felt hot when she remembered Lexi gave attention to Cassandra. It made her head feel dizzy. “No, I’m not jealous!” She refused it.

Then, she went to pick up her phone whose battery was actually low. It turned out that there were dozens of messages from Chelsea that came in. Jessica immediately called Chelsea.

“Hello!” Chelsea said across the phone.

“Chelsea, I have something to ask you!”Jessica was reckless. She had never felt that annoying feeling before.

“What’s up Jess? Emm- Where are you staying?” Chelsea interrupted. Beryl had arrived in Bali, on the same plane as Cassandra. Beryl was still at the airport because he didn’t know where to go to find Jessica.

“I’m at Avaya Resort,” she replied wondering.

“What is the room number?” Chelsea urged. It was a pity that Beryl didn’t get to meet Jessica.

“406!”

“Beryl will come to see you soon!” Chelsea immediately ended the phone call.

“What? Why does he do that?” Jessica grumbled. She didn’t say what was in his heart, but Chelsea said Beryl would be here soon.

The sultry feeling made Jessica move towards the window, then open it. Not because of the weather, but because she felt jealous.

Then, she saw Lexi and Cassandra who were both sitting in the hotel park. She saw them from her window. Both of her eyes were fixed on Lexi and the model who sat on a bench.

Jessica continued to observe, she was unable to help but she cared about Lexi who was accompanied by Cassandra.

There was someone knocking on the door. “Beryl?” Jessica said softly, she closed the window and walked to open the door. She was sure enough, Beryl was already standing with a look that Jessica couldn’t decipher.

“Oh, you are here,” Jessica asked, turning to Beryl.

“Either we go in or we go out! I need to talk to you!” Beryl offered. He couldn’t wait to ask Jessica a lot of questions.

“Emm-,” Jessica muttered.

Beryl grabbed Jessica’s hand, and led her out of the room. He took Jessica to the first floor.

“We’re talking there!” Jessica pointed to a table far away from where Lexi and Cassandra were. She didn’t want Lexi to know Beryl was in the same place as him right now.

“Okay,” Beryl obeyed and sat in the chair that Jessica had appointed. It was close to the pool, but away from the crowds also far from Lexi and Cassandra.

“Tell me everything! I’ll hear it,” Beryl said. Here was the worst part. Neither Chelsea nor Jessica, deliberately avoided him, playing hide and seek with him for a long time.

“What should I tell you?” Jessica asked back. Her own heart was still arguing with her mind. Not the jealous she felt before but Jessica wasn’t ready to tell Beryl.

“Who was the man who suddenly picked you up that time? Why don’t you refuse? And why aren’t you in the orphanage anymore? Why don’t you wear the pendant I gave you, Jess?” Beryl protested. He felt entitled to an explanation from Jessica about what had happened lately.

Jessica tried to look at his face. Now she and Beryl were looking at each other. Supposedly, Jessica used this opportunity to tell Beryl everything about Lexi had taken away his honor. About contractual marriage, Jessica remained silent.

“Try to explain!” Beryl’s insistence on grabbing Jessica’s arms forced Jessica to tell him everything.

“That’s Jessica, right?” Cassandra made sure. She observed the unusual expression on Lexi’s face.

“Yes, it was Jessica!” Lexi said. He wondered who the guy sitting next to his wife was. Is that the same guy that Jessica met a while ago? What is their relationship?

“I think he’s more mature than he looks! It turns out that he did not return to the hotel room, but met his beloved!” Cassandra said, seeing Jessica’s closeness to the man sitting next to her.

“That’s not Jessica’s boyfriend!” Lexi replied. He could not accept the opinion of Cassandra who claimed Jessica had a lover. He should be patient. No one would know about his marriage to Jessica, including Cassandra.

“You know what? Take a look at that guy’s more attention with Jessica,”Cassandra didn’t want to lose. Actually, she wanted Lexi to also show attention to what she was seeing right now. Beryl took off his warm clothes and gave them to Jessica.

“This is Miss Cassandra, and Mr. Lexi Atmaja,” Jessica answered.

“I am Beryl, Jessica’s best friend since childhood.” Beryl reached out and took turns shaking their hands.

“It is in the process, I will be her girlfriend soon,” Beryl answered.

“What about you guys? Are Miss Cassandra and Mr. Lexi dating?” Beryl asked. Jessica stepped on her best friend’s foot, but it was too late because Beryl was clueless and insensitive. The question just came out of his mouth.

“I and Lexi are not dating, but we are attracted to each other. We will get married soon,” Cassandra said.

Lexi was just indifferent, he was busy observing Beryl’s movements. Once again he saw him touching Jessica’s hand, Lexi would not stay silent anymore. His face was clearly mad at Beryl.

“Emm-alright, Jessica and I will move out so as not to disturb you guys!” Beryl said. The look in Lexi’s eyes that kept on him, it made Beryl uncomfortable.

“You guys just stay here!” Cassandra stopped them. She was happy, thinking that Lexi just wanted to be alone with him.

“No, Jessica and I are going for a walk for a while, there are many things that she has to talk about too, ” Beryl pretended. He took Jessica’s hand and led her away.

“Where are you guys going?” Lexi asked. There was an emphasis in his voice.

“I’m going to go around for a while with Jessica!” Beryl answered.

“Don’t! Jessica get back to your room now!” Lexi snapped. Some of the people listening looked in his direction.

Jessica was shocked.

“Go back to your room now!” Lexi shouted.

Jessica obeyed Lexi’s orders, refusing Beryl’s invitation.

Cassandra looked at Lexi. She was curious ‘why is Lexi so angry?’

Jessica walked to her room. Beryl walked the opposite way. Now, there was only Lexi and Cassandra there.

“I want to sleep now,” Lexi asked permission. Hopefully after this incident Cassandra has no ambition to get him again.

Lexi’s footsteps were wide and fast to Jessica’s room, his only destination at this moment.
