Chapter 659
She just didn't know if this was all that this mysterious man would do to her.
She was worried he might suddenly do something horrible to her.
She could sense that this man was a pervert who didn't follow the usual rules of logic in the things he did. In fact, he did things without any goal in mind and simply did whatever he wanted to, with no regard for anything else or any reason. He was a madman, through and through.
"You look so scared. Are you worried I would pounce on you and torture you like what those thugs wanted to do?"
His leisurely tone sounded teasing, as if he were teasing a child just to see the fear in her eyes.
Rosalie said weakly, "I hope you won't do that."
She knew how helpless and vulnerable she sounded. How could she reason with a villain whom she was at the mercy of? All the more begging for mercy was useless at this point.
"Alright, I won't do that," the man said agreeably.
Rosalie was stunned, a look of disbelief flashing past her face. She turned around and looked at the speaker at the foot of the bed, and somehow believed him.
She was very sure that he was a bad person, but perhaps, he was a different kind of bad person.NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
She had to admit that although he looked cruel and vicious when he was killing the thugs, and that she was deathly afraid of him, now that she thought about it, the thugs completely deserved it. It was better that they were all dead so that they wouldn't bring harm upon anyone else.
As the saying goes, a wicked person will be dealt with by another of like.
"Seems like you won't be able to make it to Melrine with your husband today."
Rosalie's heart leaped. This man even knew that she was headed to Melrine with Sebastian. What else did he know about them?
Was he really behind Sebastian's accident? What was his objective?
The speaker went silent. Rosalie tried asking him a few questions, but she received no response from him and surmised that he had probably left. Rosalie felt ill at ease in the room. She knew there were surveillance cameras in here, but she didn't know where they were located.
Very soon, it was noon and someone knocked on the door. Rosalie jumped in fright at first, but recovered and walked to the door, asking, “Who is it?" However, she heard nothing from outside the door.
Rosalie didn't dare to open the door, but upon remembering that she was trapped in here, it would be easy as pie for him to just come in.
Not opening the door was akin to burying one's head in the ground and ignoring the true dangers. It was utterly pointless, so she mustered the courage to open the door to see who it was behind the door
Yet, when she opened the door, she saw no one. Instead, she smelled the aroma of food in the air.
Rosalie looked down, and saw a tray filled with sumptuous food and a glass of juice.
Rosalie was famished. She didn't
want her baby to go hungry, so she set the tray on the table back in the room. She was about to eat but didn't feel safe about it, worried that something extra might have been added to the food.

Just then, the speaker at the foot of the bed crackled to life. "If I really wanted to kill you, why would I go to such trouble? Although I enjoy playing games with my prey, I only like to do it face-to-face with my prey, so that I can see my prey suffering with my own eyes."
His words reassured Rosalie. It was true he could have killed her long ago if he wanted to.
After finishing up lunch, the speaker sounded once more. "Place the tray outside the door."
"Why must you hide in the dark to speak to me? Do you not dare to face me?” Rosalie asked.
Rosalie heard no response from the speaker, and thought that he had left.
She subsequently placed the tray outside the door. Then she shut the door and sat back down on the chair in the room, feeling anxious
She knew that Sebastian must be worried about her.
Looking at the time now, Theodore and Cynthia were probably already married.
