Eve POV

Ivan have been my fake boyfriend for the past three months now, and it’s really difficult to not fall in love with him. I never planned for this to happen, but I can’t just help it. It hurts that we’re going to be separating soon, just the thought of it, breaks my heart into pieces.

For these past few months, a lot of things has happened, which included Mia, Ivan’s ex girlfriend, almost got me killed, but Ivan was there to save me, and she was arrested afterwards. Nina and Nathan are now couples, everyone are happy with their lives, and here I am, hurting inside. I know I shouldn’t have fell in love with him, this was all a contract, but I just couldn’t help it. Today is going to be our last day together, since the project will be ending today, I just wish it can be extended, but too bad that it won’t be possible.

Stepping out of the bathroom, wearing a short towel around my chest, I walked over to the dresser, and sat down, before I started applying lotion on my body. Memories of the past, came flashing through my mind. How we first met, our days in school, how he used to bully me, when we first got separated, I was happy, but it changed, when I left the country, as I always found myself, missing him.

I never thought we’d ever meet again, but fate brought us back together, he never changed, he was still the same bad boy, before I left. The thought of the kisses, the hugs, the sweet words he always told me in these few months, and the thought of it not happening ever again after today, keep breaking my heart, as tears slowly found their ways out of my eyes. My mind wandered off to the first time he kissed me, I was so angry, but deep inside me, I had this feelings, the feelings of want, but I could never say it out, I wish we can be together forever, I wish he loves me, as much as I do to him now, I know it’ll be pointless, confessing my feelings to him, knowing he’ll make a joke out of it.

“You look beautiful as always darling.” His words echoed in my head, as more tears poured out of my eyes. He has told me that, the first day we started our fake relationship, even if it was just for show off, something in me sparkles, which I never understood, but now everything is clear to me.

The sound of my ringing phone jolted me back to reality, and I wiped my tears, before standing up, and walked over to the bed, where my phone was laying. I picked it up, and checked the caller ID to be Ivan, before I finally swiped the answer button.

“Don’t keep me waiting for long, I have something important to do.” His cold voice sounded from the other end, and the call disconnected afterwards. I sighed deeply, and dropped the phone, before going back to continue.

After I was done applying make-up on my face, I finally stood up and walked over to the bed, where my red short gown was laying beautifully. Today is going to be the grand party of the project, I supposed to be happy, right? I supposed to be anticipating on who the winner will be. Actually, there were so many people handling the project, the winner was going to be selected today, I should be in my best mood, but all that doesn’t matters to me.

I picked the dress, and slid into it, before sliding my feet into my red heels, after which I picked my red purse from the bed to match it. I walked over to the mirror, and took a last glance at my reflection, trying so hard not to let my tears out, and after a few seconds, I finally left my room. As soon as I stepped into the living room, I walked over to the door, and pulled it open, before walking out, to see him standing at the parking lot, beside his car, looking as breathtaking as ever, in his white suit, with the inner shirt red.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

I sighed, before walking over to him, and as soon as I got there, we hopped in on his car, and he drove out. I was expecting him to say something about my dress, but he never said a thing, and it really hurts me, I shouldn’t have keep my expectations high.

The drive was silent and long, as we got to the venue of the party, almost an hour later.

Once he stopped the car at the garage, where so many cars were parked, we both alighted, and I locked my hand in his arm, before we headed to the venue.

As we walked side by side, I couldn’t stopped admiring him, if anyone ever told me I was going to fall in love with my worst enemy, I wouldn’t have believed them, but here I am, dying inside for someone, who doesn’t even care about me.

After a few minutes, the party started, some of the board of directors gave their speech. All of us anticipated for the winner to be announced, and after what seemed like forever, they finally announced us as the winner. Oh my God! I can’t believe this, we won!

I was invited to come give a speech and get my award, as I and Ivan walked hand in hand to the podium, and after taking the award, I was handed the microphone, to give a speech.

“Good evening everyone, I’m happy to be here today. It has been a long journey, but I’m happy that we finally ended it happily. This project wouldn’t have been a success for me, without the help of my amazing man, I’m happy to have him in my life. He has always been there for me, making sure that he do everything in his power, so I don’t give up, for this, I want to say a big thanks to him, and I want to use this medium, to tell him how much I appreciate all his efforts, and I’m happy that all his efforts didn’t go to waste.” I finished my speech, and glanced at Ivan, who was smiling at the crowd, not saying a word, neither did he spared me a glance. Is this how much he hates me? I returned my gaze sadly to the crowd, trying as much as to put on a smile.

“Whoa!” The crowd suddenly start cheering as they started taking pictures of us, while I looked at them confusingly, wondering what came about the sudden weird reaction.

“Evelyn…” I heard Ivan called my name, and tilting my head to look at him, I was welcomed with shock of my life. Kneeling on the floor with one knee, and holding a diamond ring in his hand, is Ivan. Wait! What’s he doing? Am I dreaming?

“Evelyn… We’ve been through tick and thins, we’ve been the worst enemies for these past few years, I bullied you, and even when fate lead us together again, I still did. I know I’m not worth it, I don’t know what to say, because I’m not a man of too many romantic words. If you’re to spend a thousand years on earth, I want to always be here, holding your hand, and being by your side all the days of our lives, I know I’ve been a jerk, I’ve teased you all the time, I never planned to fall in love with you, but I did anyways, and I don’t regret a thing. If loving you is a crime, I want to be the most wanted criminal, if loving you will make me the foolish man on earth, then I’m all yours to fool. Marry me, Evelyn Javier.” He said, with the ever cutest smile, displaying on his lips, while I just stood shocked.

“Yes Ivan… yes! Yes I’ll marry you.” I said, as I held out my hand for him to put the ring, as tears of joy kept streaming down my cheeks. My dream have finally come through.

He slid the ring in my finger, then stood up and pulled me close, before crashing his lips on mine, kissing me tenderly. He’s finally mine, Ivan is now mine…

Ivan’s happiness knew no bound, after so many years, he finally found love. He couldn’t believe that he fell in love with his then worst enemy.
