Boyfriend For Rent (They Met Again)

Eve POV

It’s been weeks, since Nathan turned me down bluntly, though it hurts, but I just have to stop thinking about it, and move on with my life, I believe I’ll find someone that’ll love me for who I am, sooner or later. All I need to do now, is stay focused on my work, and make more money, I’ll get a man later, and if none of them still wants me, then they can go to hell for all I care.

The sound of my ringing phone jolted me back to reality, and I sighed softly, before tilting my head to check my phone, which was laying beside me on the bed, and my face dropped, as soon as I saw the caller, it’s dad. Why the heck is he calling me? I’ve had enough of his frustration already, I am in no mood for his constant frustration, so he better not piss me off. I rolled my eyes, as I reached out to the phone lazily, and picked it up, before sliding the answer button, then put it on speaker and dropped it again, while staring into space, waiting for him to start insulting and raining curse on me as usual, I’m used to it though.

“Hello Eve!” His voice came on calmy from the other end, and I was forced to check the screen of the phone again, to confirm the caller. My dad will never speak to me calmly, and to think he’s being all calmed now, is something alarming, right?

“Is that you dad?” I asked, to be sure I wasn’t hearing wrong.

“Yes it’s me honey. Can you please come back to Paris? I’ve missed you a lot, I’m sorry for hurting you, I’ve realized my mistakes, and ready to make things up now, can you please give this a chance again?” He asked softly, and I couldn’t the scoff that kept threatening to escape my throat. What the heck is he talking about now? This same man is the one, that’ have been treating me like a trash all these years, like I’m not his own child, and here he is, acting all loving and caring? That’s never gonna happen, I can’t let him deceive me.

“Don’t push your luck dad, I’m not coming back.” I said, and with that, I clicked on the end button angrily, disconnecting the call. I huffed angrily, as I stood up and walked into the kitchen. Stepping into the kitchen, I threw my small refrigerator open, and picked out a pack of juice from it, before closing it back, after which I walked back into the living room, and threw myself on the couch, while enjoying my juice. I have a lot going on in my head already, and letting dad add his own, is the last thing I would give a chance to.

After what seemed like forever, I finally stood up and dragged my feet out of the house, I need to get some fresh air, and clear my head off all these mess. Stepping out of the house, I leaned against the rail in front of my apartment, as I stared into space, the cool and gentle breeze, blowing on my face, swaying my hair gently.

The sound of the noise coming from the next apartment, got my attention, as I was forced to look towards the direction, and I was welcomed with Ivan, standing there with his gaze all over me. Gosh! Why do I have to see him of all people, huh? I scoffed and rolled my eyes, before turning my face away.

“Eve! Come on come over here.” Nora’s voice came on, and that was when I realized that she was with Audrey. Wait! Don’t tell me she’s his girlfriend? Oh no! That innocent girl must’ve fallen for the bastard’s sugarcoated mouth, I’m sure going to expose him as usual, watch me do it.

I tucked my hair behind my ear, before walking over to them. I didn’t want to go there, but seeing her with Ivan, I was left with no option. Walking over to them, I glared daggers at Ivan, before turning my attention to Nora, who looked as beautiful as always.

“Ivan this is the lady I was telling you about, the one that stays next door.” She said to the pervert, who was glaring at me, with that usual mocking expression on his face. Can this dude ever be any responsible? Now I’m confused, what’s going on here?

“Don’t tell me you made friends with her?” He finally spoke up, as he glanced at her, then back to me, and made a grimace face.

“Behave yourself Ivan. Uhm sorry about that Eve, don’t mind what my brother said, he can be very annoying. Anyways, meet my elder brother, Ivan…, Ivan, meet Eve…”

“The psycho next door.” He cut her off, and I couldn’t help glaring at him. Wait! Did she just said her brother? What the heck! I said it, she looked familiar from the first day I saw her, I never knew she’s the pervert’s sister.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

“Stop that Ivan, will you?” She scolded him, and he pursed his lips.

I glared at him, and huffed angrily, then turned around, before walking back into my apartment. Gosh! Why did I even have to see him, huh? He always ruins my mood, that’s what he has always done back from school, and I don’t think he can ever change.

Walking angrily into my room, I threw myself on the couch, and crossed my arms on my chest, while glaring hard into space. The sound of my buzzed phone pulled my attention, and I sighed, before picking it up. I swiped the unlock button, as a message popped on the screen. I clicked on the message, and I almost screamed at what I saw, I got the contract! The biggest modeling company in Chicago, have finally acknowledge me to work with them, on the big modeling project of the year, I’m so happy.

I couldn’t help the grin that settled on my face, as I clicked on the ‘read more’ option, revealing the remains of the message, and I read through them, my eyes almost popped out of their sockets, and my smiles slowly fade away, replaced with a shocked and confused look, what the heck! The CEO is going to be launching the project in three days, and all the people that are going to take part in the project, are asked to come with their spouse, what the heck! Is that some joke or something? What about me that don’t have one? Oh no!…
