Chapter 1406 Boundless Virtue
From a certain perspective, Josie's decision wasn't wrong. Morgan was indeed a capable person, and with his assistance, Olsen Group's acquisition project progressed exceptionally smoothly. Although Hector was dissatisfied, he found himself unable to voice any objections.
Interestingly, Morgan took advantage of this opportunity, spending eighteen hours of his day at Olsen Group.
As Josie entered the office, she saw him leaning on the desk with one hand, instructing Queenie on some content. He was oozing charm with every move and gesture. "Well done, Queenie, you're the smartest girl I've ever met," he praised.
Josie's eyes were practically rolling to the back of her head.
Queenie was brimming with excitement. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted Josie and enthusiastically waved to greet him.
Josie approached, setting down her bag. She faced Morgan, who stood with his hands in his pockets. "You're here so early?"
Morgan smirked. "Is there a possibility that I stayed in the office last night? It's been a long time since I've been this dedicated. How do you plan to reward me?"
Josie pushed him away. "Queenie, stay away from him. He's a scumbag."
Queenie widened her eyes.
Morgan called after her, "You're ruining my reputation!" behind, "You're ruining my reputation!"
Josie had already walked far away, leaving Queenie to cautiously ask, "Mr. Bastille, is it true?"
"She tarnishes anything she can't get."
It was clear to everyone that Morgan treated Josie in a special way. Every day, he would invite the entire department for lunch, and the portion for Josie was always prepared with exceptional care and attention.
Initially, Josie had no intention of accepting the affection, but everyone else was doing so. It seemed odd for her to refuse, so she accepted.
Morgan chased after her, asking, "Did Dexter not come looking for you after that day?"
Josie's movement paused slightly.
"If he did, just ignore him. He's already gotten involved with Salazar, and that woman won't make things easy."
Josie finally looked up. "Are you saying that Ryan hasn't found the crucial information yet?"
Morgan raised an eyebrow. "Sounds like you're more anxious than I am."
"I just want you to shut up."
Dexter had come to her, yet the issues between them weren't something that could be resolved overnight Josie would often recal the desolate look in his eyes that day. It was as if a knife had been plunged into her heart, one that was incredibly difficult to pull out.

Every month, Olsen Group held a regular meeting where the attendees reported on the monthly progress. Those in attendance were always the heads of major projects.
Josie replaced Hector and attended the meeting with Morgan.
That day, Laura was late due to some last-minute issues. The meeting room was clean and bright. Morgan leaned against the water dispenser, got a glass of water and handed it to Josie. "Your boss is putting on airs, huh?"
The smile on his lips was clearly teasing.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
"If your patient heard you speaking about her like this, she would be heartbroken."
"Sometimes, even doctors encounter patients they can't cure."
Josie laughed. "Have you treated many patients?"
"Not really. I only treat patients recommended by certain people."
He was hinting at something, but Josie didn't catch on in the moment. All she did was sigh and say, "Indeed, curing Laura can be counted as one of your few good deeds." She was engrossed in her files, her head bowed, completely oblivious to Morgan flashing a rare bitter smile.
Good deeds.

immeasurable merit."
Immeasurable merit? He didn't want that. Instead, he wanted her resentment toward him to lessen a little.
A noise echoed from the entrance. Laura was here. As she stepped into the conference room, this was the scene that greeted her.
