Alexander frowned angrily, “get away!”

Lily opened her eyes when she heard Drake’s voice. Seeing that her eyes were opened, Drake Bell spoke, “Lily, so sorry I came late. Did those gangsters dare to hurt you? I promise you, I’ll feed their bones to the eagles. Come with me.” He stretched his hand as though he wants to carry a baby.

“Drake Bell, get out of my sight. This place would soon become a place of blood bath if you don’t,” Alexander threatened but he meant every single word he said.

“Uncle, take it easy. You can’t carry her away, she needs to go back to our children, they are missing her badly,” Drake Bell told his uncle.

Alexander was shocked to find out that Lily has kids. But hearing him say ‘our children’ bothers him even more. Did Lily has kids for Drake Bell? If so, why then was Lily claiming that Drake Bell was forcing her to live with him against her will?

At the mention of her children, Lily knew she had to let Drake take her home. All these while, she was still in Alexander arms. Alexander was huge so although he was carrying an adult, he didn’t feel like he was carrying something heavy.

Drake Bell paused embarrassedly. He lead her to his car without having to touch her. Alexander watched as she got inside Drake Bell’s car and got driven away.

Alexander turned to Mason who came with him and said, “find out who sent these people to kidnap her.”

“Got it, sir.” Mason answered.

As Drake drove Lily home, Lily asked concernedly, “how are my kids?”

“They are fine and I’ve pet them to sleep, “Drake Bell answered, he quickly added, “Lily, what did those men did to you? Did anyone of them touch you? Just tell me…”

She understood what he meant by ‘did anyone touch her.’ “I fought back.”

“So no one touched you!” Drake Bell asked to be sure.

“I can’t let anyone touch me!” She said harshly.

Drake Bell heaved a sigh of relief, “don’t worry, those gangsters will pay heavily. Even their families will suffer the consequences.”

“I wonder who sent them to kidnap me…” Lily mumbled. She was at the backseat.

Drake Bell heard and thought on what she just said. True, those gangsters don’t just attack anyone unless they are sent.

“Do you suspect someone?” Drake Bell asked.

“I suspect your wife to be,” Lily answered. This time, they were already in Drake Bell’s villa. Before Drake Bell could step down and help her to open the door, she had already opened the door and stepped down.

Eventhough Drake Bell offered to help her walk inside the house, she refused. Drake Bell could only walk behind her even as she entered the house. He watched as she walked up straight to the children’s room.

After Lily confirmed that her children were fine, she walked up to her room and wash up. But the side of her face that was punched was still hurting her.

Dressed in a night pajamas, she laid weakly on the bed and let her eyes close. All of a sudden, a knock landed on the door.

“Who is it?”

“Please open up, Lily.”

“Why? I need to rest.” Lily already recognized the voice of the person speaking to be Drake Bell.

“I know but you need a first aid treatment too. I saw how your face was injured,” Drake Bell said.

“Thank you but I already have a plan of seeing the doctor tomorrow.” She said and quickly added, “please don’t press this, I really need to rest.”

Lily didn’t hear anymore word, she knew that he must have left quietly. Afterwards, Lily faded off to sleep.

What she didn’t know was that although Drake Bell had left, he had turned on the CCTV camera in her room on. Honestly, he doesn’t intrude on her privacy and that was why he had turned off the CCTV camera in her room. All he wanted was for her to live in his house cause only when she’s closer to him can he win his heart over.

Drake Bell was very worried about her and that was why he had to switch on the CCTV camera, once he confirmed that she had slept, he walked over to her room, open it with the master key and approached her bed with the first aid box in his hand.

He looked at the swollen side of her mouth and felt very pathetic for her. He had already commanded his assistants to investigate who sent those gangsters to do such dirty work to Lily. He didn’t want to believe Lily’s suspicion about Amelia being the person who sent the gangsters.

His judgement of Amelia was based on their relationship when they were young, what he didn’t know was that Amelia had changed from the sweet young girl she used to be when they were young and dating to a vile and despicable woman.

Drake Bell opened the first aid box and began to administer treatment to Lily. Until he was done, Lily didn’t wake. She was so sound asleep. Drake Bell then left.

When Lily woke up in the middle of the night to ease herself, she was stunned to see changes in her cheek. Infact, the pain in her face had reduced drastically. She turned on the light and went to stand before the mirror, she noticed that something was definitely applied there. She was confused on who could have done that. Eventually, she went back to sleep.

It’s been many days that Lily had been going to work but she hadn’t seen Alexander Bell. She was a bit worried that she even asked his personal assistant at some point but he answered by saying he wasn’t permitted to disclose his whereabout. “Miss Ella will resume working with you from tomorrow, she would be your assistant cause your work load would increase from the closing of today,” after Mason said this, she walked up to Lily and handed over a file to her, “I hope you and miss. Ella will be able to work together.” Afterwards, he walked out.

Ella jubilated happily, “Lily, I’m so happy.”

Ella even hugged her, “I’ve dreamt to attain this position for such a long time. Now I’ll get to see the CEO too just like you?”

Lily smiled, “I haven’t actually seen the CEO for the past two weeks. I do hope he’s fine.”

“He’s a grown up man, I’m sure he’ll be able to take care of himself,” Ella said and added, “Lily, why don’t you come with me to the club this night, let’s celebrate my promotion together.”

“I’m not sure I want to…”

“Lily, you are already rejecting my offer for the first time in a long time… quiet sad,” Ella maintained a puppy face.

Lily sat back and said, “I have kids now, I can’t just go out…”

“So you don’t want to have fun with me, huh? You don’t want to celebrate my birthday with me… I should just go and cry,” Ella said, maintaining a fake face that looked like one that want to cry. Then began to walk away.

Just when she got to the door about to open the door to walk out, Lily spoke, “fine.”

Ella turned back and jubilated happily. “Hurray!”

Lily chuckled. She remembered how Ella always get her to do whatever she wants her to do in the past, “Ella, you will never change.”

Ella giggled and said, “we have not been able to talk all these while, I guess we’ll have an extensive talk at the club this night.”

“Sure…” Lily smiled and watched her leave merrily.

With the smile still on her lips, she set her gaze back on her desk. At least, this office would now be less boring since Ella’s desk would be move here. As far as Lily was concerned, it will be fun with Ella around.

A few seconds later, the door opened and Alexander appeared.

Lily immediately stood as a sign of respect, “Mr. Alexander, you are welcome.”

He gestured for her to sit and once she sat, he walked up to her desk instead of going to sit. “I found the woman who drugged me six years ago and made me have sex with her. The woman had a striking resemblance with you, I must say. Turns out I’ve been hard on you for a reason you are not guilty of, I’m really sorry, Lily.”

Lily wasn’t expecting to hear that, she sighed and said, “it’s okay, Mr. Alexander. I would do the same if I was in your shoe.”

Alexander Bell nodded and said, “I’ve been away for a while… I need you to give me reports of all the activities of the company since I’ve been absent.”

“Sure, sir.”
