Chapter 81
Chapter 81
After pausing for a moment, Emma regained her composure.
She then sneered and a hint of disdain flashed in her eyes.
She had underestimated the situation. Initially, she thought Olivia’s clothes were high–end custom– made pieces. Only later did she realize that what Susan had called “only one piece” was probably just something her family’s tailor stitched together.
Back when the Hushe Republic was much poorer, it was common for families to buy fabric and sew their own clothes at home.
But now in the modern world, there were still people making their own clothes. How impoverished must they be!
Emma found it amusing and a mocking curve formed at the corner of her mouth. “So unique. Was it made by the master who hems pants at the village entrance?”
Susan hadn’t anticipated that someone like Emma, a socialite, would speak so sarcastically.
She felt speechless. “Miss Emma, have you seen the clothes Olivia wears? Could the master who hems pants at the village entrance have such techniques?”
Emma was taken aback. She did pay quite a bit of attention to Olivia’s. clothes. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have used clothes as a topic of discussion. It was strange when she thought about it. She knew Olivia wore clothes from street vendors, with no brand labels. Yet, she couldn’t seem to help herself from looking at her clothes.
She found them distinctive and good–looking.
At times, after staring for a while, Emma even despised and said to herself, “You’ve stared at cheap street vendor clothes for so long, your taste has really fallen.”
Now, hearing Susan’s words, Emma realized Olivia’s clothes were indeed quite unique in terms of design and craftsmanship.
Susan continued, “Miss Emma, you’re a socialite. Your taste should be quite refined. How could you not even recognize the brand of Olivia’s clothes? Is that because there are no labels or logos on them? It’s an Italian handmade brand, Bosman.”
Bosman.
The smug mockery in Emma’s eyes was instantly shattered, and they were replaced by a profound shock.
Bosman? It’s actually Bosman!
Bosman was the world’s top–tier brand, renowned for its pursuit of quality. They did not put labels on their clothes, and their garments were incredibly comfortable to wear. Not only that, Bosman frequently collaborated with several other top brands internationally, creating joint collections.
In other words, even top–tier brands commissioned Bosman to produce clothes, but they would only produce one piece.
Bosman’s clothes were very expensive and extremely rare. Olivia herself only had three Bosman pieces, which she treasured.
Now, Susan was telling her that Olivia’s entire wardrobe was filled with Bosman pieces.
Emma couldn’t believe it and instinctively retorted, “Are you making this up? How is it possible that everything is Bosman?”
Susan nodded. “Yes, I misspoke.”
Emma felt relieved, but then Susan continued, “Bosman only makes outerwear. Olivia’s undergarments are all made by the workshop in her family. Look at the white T–shirt she’s wearing, for instance. There are hardly any seams visible, and it fits like a single piece of fabric on her body. It is extremely smooth and soft.”
It seemed that Susan wasn’t satisfied with merely provoking Emma. She went on and said, “I heard that this is a craftsmanship lost for over a century. It’s even eligible for intangible cultural heritage status. The tailors in the workshop are all elderly people from Olivia’s family, and this tradition has been passed down for centuries. I once saw a pair of home pants at Olivia’s place, embroidered with patterns that looked just like the real thing.”
“You’re lying!” Emma didn’t believe it. She hung up the call with a slam and ran out to find Lynn.
During Olivia’s stay with the Taylor family, the servants washed her clothes, and Lynn had some of Olivia’s clothes.
When she saw Emma coming to ask for Olivia’s clothes, Lynn, who had always been gentle, looked a bit embarrassed. She awkwardly took out a white T–shirt from her own wardrobe.
She explained in a low voice, “Miss Emma, it’s not that I intentionally hid Olivia’s clothes. It’s just that these clothes are so comfortable. They feel like you’re not wearing anything at all when you put them on!” She mumbled, “I don’t know where she got them from. I never expected street vendor clothes could be of such good quality,”
Because the clothes were so comfortable, Lynn didn’t give them back to Olivia. She secretly kept them for herself and wore them as pajamas every night.
Speaking of which, these clothes were really comfortable. They were smooth and cool against the skin, and they seemed to have magical effects.
Previously, Lynn had developed numerous small red bumps on her back and neck. After wearing this piece of clothing for a while, all the red bumps on her back had miraculously disappeared.
It was truly extraordinary.
Lynn kept mentioning the magical aspects of the clothes to Emma.
The more Emma listened, the heavier her heart grew.
In the end, after checking the white T–shirt and examining several other coats, Emma was completely overwhelmed.
She really owned clothes from Bosman.
Although the white T–shirt wasn’t from Bosman, its craftsmanship was even more exquisite. Even Emma, who considered herself well–versed in fashion, couldn’t identify the fabric used for the shirt.
She just felt that it was incredibly comfortable to wear, making it hard to let go of.
Olivia was moved to the basement. It was a storage room. There was no bed inside, and the room was filled with dust.
She did not care too much. She found a clean place to sit down and leaned against the wall to rest. Just as she closed her eyes, she heard a rustling sound from the door of the room.
Immediately, the door swung open.
Instinctively, she looked up and met the sudden appearance of a magnified handsome face.
It was Daniel.
Olivia stood up abruptly, her eyes wide with an inexplicable shock. Her beautiful phoenix eyes widened, and this caught Daniel’s attention, making him itch to reach out and touch them.
“Why are you here?” Olivia stuttered slightly, taken aback by the surprise.
This wasn’t an easy question to answer. Daniel’s gaze shifted slightly as he calmly asked in return, “I called you several times. Why didn’t you
answer?”
Olivia’s attention was quickly diverted. Her phone had been taken by Amelia and not given back to her.
As she was thinking about her phone, Daniel quietly surveyed the environment around them. When he noticed the cobwebs in the corner and the dust on the floor where Olivia had been sitting. A flash of fierceness crossed his eyes. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
The person he cherished and loved so deeply had been treated this way. A wave of viciousness suddenly surged in his heart. He took a deep breath, struggling to control the intensity of his emotions.
He moved closer to Olivia, his gaze skimming over her pale lips. It felt as though a thread of pain was constricting around his heart, suffocating him.
However, Daniel was an expert at masking his emotions, and he didn’t let Olivia see anything unusual. His expression remained calm and composed.
He informed her, “I looked into that hotel. It belongs to Yunice. He, along with Emma and Yvonne, plotted to frame you.”
“It’s really Yvonne,” Olivia murmured, understanding the situation. But then, her gaze turned deeper.
These were her problems, but why was Daniel so concerned about them? First, he had investigated Yunice and now infiltrated the Taylor family’s mansion at night. His concern for her had already transcended the boundaries of friendship.
Olivia turned to face Daniel directly and asked, “Daniel, why are you helping me?”
