Billionaire’s Missing Darling

Chapter 80

Chapter 80

It was so funny. How could there be such a funny thing in this world? Olivia was laughing so hard that she was crying. She wiped the corners of her eyes and calmed herself down. Then, she stared at Emma.

Emma frowned. “Why are you staring at me like that?”

Lynn chimed in from the side with a sarcastic tone. “Olivia seems to have been provoked. While Yvonne is able to invite Isaac for Liam, Olivia only knows how to irritate him.”

With a mix of irony, she continued, “While other people contribute to the family, there are still some people with bad intentions. Not only do they fail to help the family but they also harm others. Comparing you to Yvonne, it’s like comparing heaven and earth. Even though Yvonne isn’t officially from the Taylor family, she managed to bring Isaac. She’s wholeheartedly considering the Taylor family’s interests. After Isaac heals Liam’s leg, her position will be even more secure.”

Listening to Lynn’s bizarre words, Olivia’s face remained calm, showing no signs of anger. She remained as calm as a still pond. She simply lifted her eyes slightly and retorted. “Heal his leg?”

Lynn’s eyes were filled with disdain. She pointed at the locust and scolded, “People are really different. Some people come back to the Taylor family and only think about gaining shares for themselves, being selfish, and harming others. But some people return to the Taylor family with pure intentions, genuinely wishing to help Liam receive medical treatment. After Isaac heals Liam’s leg, Liam might come over and personally break the legs of his disobedient grandchildren!”

Olivia paid no attention to Lynn’s mockery. Her expression remained cold and clear, exuding an inherent nobility and elegance. She didn’t need to speak; a mere glance was enough to suppress Lynn’s arrogance.

“So, you’re saying that Isaac can personally heal Liam’s leg?” Olivia asked. Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Lynn rolled her eyes. “He’s a divine physician. It’s obvious he can heal him!”

Olivia chuckled lightly, lightly swaying her fingers before calmly

speaking. “How about we make a bet? I bet that the divine physician won’t be able to heal his leg.”

“Why are you so vicious?” Lynn’s expression was ferocious. “No matter

what, Liam is still your elder. If you curse others, you’ll be punished by the heavens.”

“Can’t I tell you the truth?” Olivia asked innocently.

When she had first arrived at the Taylor family, she had seen Liam’s leg, which was already in a state of decay. There was almost no hope of recovery from such an illness. Even Olivia herself only had a 60% of confidence.

Moreover, back then, she didn’t have the Ice Needle with her and the effects of other silver needles were significantly inferior. That was why she hadn’t said anything at the time.

Isaac’s medical skills were indeed excellent, but they fell slightly short compared to Olivia’s, especially when it came to the usage of the Ice Needle. Liam could only achieve 30% effectiveness with it, while Olivia could reach 90%.

Emma wasn’t sure why Olivia was so confident in saying that Isaac wouldn’t be able to heal Liam’s leg, but she didn’t care much about it. Her main goal was to redirect Olivia’s attention to Yvonne. Now that she had achieved that, she felt somewhat relieved.

She asked Lynn to leave, leaving only the two of them in the room.

Emma asked, “Are you going to expose my true identity?”

Olivia looked coldly at Emma and answered, “If I wanted to reveal everything, I would have done it already.”

Hearing that Olivia had no intention of exposing her, Emma breathed a sigh of relief. However, she did not fully trust Emma and decided to issue a veiled threat. “I hope you understand that even if everything is revealed, I will still be considered a daughter of the Taylor family. If anything, you would have done me a favor by helping prove my identity. But as for Amelia, things might not go well for her.”

Amelia had been emotionally stable for the past few years and hadn’t suffered any episodes. However, nobody could predict how she would react when facing the truth.

Her beloved adopted daughter turning out to be her husband’s illegitimate child was a truth that anyone would find hard to accept.

“Your threats don’t work on me,” Olivia replied, her tone indifferent. “I no longer care about her. Whether she’s crazy or foolish, it’s none of my

concern.”

Emma’s heart tightened. She was about to say something in response. But Olivia’s voice turned cold again. “However, as a doctor, my ethics prevent me from provoking a mentally unstable patient.”

“As a doctor?” Emma was puzzled and was about to ask for an explanation, but Olivia had already ordered her to leave.

“Leave now.” And with that, the conversation ended.

Emma was unwilling to leave, but Olivia’s attitude was truly cold and her presence was strong. She did not dare to stay any longer and could only turn around and leave.

After returning to her room, Emma still felt uneasy.

She did not believe what Olivia said at all.

Today, Olivia spoke with such confidence that she wouldn’t expose the truth, putting on a virtuous act. But when tomorrow came and the Taylor family took back the shares, Olivia would become a complete pauper.

She wanted to see if Olivia would regret her decisions.

At that time, Emma was sure Olivia would cry, beg, and even kneel down to beg for mercy. She would do anything to avoid being cut off from the Taylor family.

After all, those were shares of the Taylor family, even if it was only 3%. The annual dividends amounted to hundreds of millions. And that was just the dividends. If it was sold, it could be worth over a few billions. This was money that many people could not earn even if they worked hard for their entire lives.

In addition to the Taylor family’s shares, Amelia still had 3% of the shares from the Green family. The Green family was a super wealthy family not inferior to the Taylor family.

Even if Olivia won a Nobel Prize, she wouldn’t be able to earn that much

money.

After thinking for a while, Emma tried to find Susan’s phone number to gather some information from her.

“Hello, Miss Emma. How can I help you?” Susan was polite, unaware of Olivia’s current situation.

Emma’s tone was condescending as she got straight to the point. “You’re connected to the Charm, right? Do you know how many shares Olivia has in the Charm?”

10:33

Susan did not want to reveal anything about Olivia, but share ownership wasn’t exactly a private matter since it could usually be found online. So she replied, “35%.”

“So much!” Emma was shocked. Wasn’t she just developing some new technology? Why was it worth so many shares? She had thought Olivia only had a small number of shares, maybe just a few percent. She hadn’t expected Olivia to have 35%.

Though the Charm was a newly established company, it was backed by the international Olle Group, making it financially strong. Its development was impressive in the past few years, with reported revenues breaking one billion dollars.

However, for a newly established business, it wasn’t guaranteed that there would be dividends in the first few years. Even though Olivia held such a large number of shares, it didn’t necessarily mean she would receive any money.

Emma let out a sigh of relief and probed as if she was joking. “So many shares! If she’s so wealthy, why does she live so frugally?”

At this point, she chuckled and said in a mocking tone, “She can’t afford to buy current season fashion, but she can definitely get last season’s on sale. I’ve heard the discounts are huge. I mean, even if she can’t buy luxury brands, she could at least get some good quality lesser–known brands. Instead, she always wears cheap and simple clothes, some of which don’t even have labels. That’s just being too stingy.”

Emma really couldn’t help but look down on Olivia. Even if she couldn’t afford luxury brands, there were other options. It seemed like Olivia was being overly frugal, wearing simple and cheap clothes, some of which didn’t even have labels.

It was so embarrassing.

After hearing this, Susan remained silent for a long time.

Then, stammering, she said, “Miss Emma, are you misunderstanding something? Olivia’s clothes are all custom–made. There’s only one of each design in the world.”

Emma was stunned.
