DIMITRI 

I walked out of the room heading down the hallway and a feeling of soft anger swept through me. 

I was pissed. 

Irritated and stunned at Derrick’s disapproval. As much as I tried to hide my feelings from Nora, I couldn’t deny the fact that I was more pissed than her. 

Who is he? 

How dare he? 

I swear to teach him a lesson that he would never forget, 1 promile this with everything inside of me. 

No one, beast or mortal has ever challenged me and I won’t let this pass me by. 

Suddenly, a loud noise cut through my ears. 

I froze, my heart began to pound louder than ever and I could feel my feet suddenly grow cold, the soul was so deafening that I felt a pain, as sharp as a knife cut through me. 

“Argh!” I screamed in pain, my hands were pressed on my car as I tried to suppress the noise from tearing down my ear 

drum. 

Where is this voice coming from? 

What is happening to me! 

My throat was dry and I fell on my knees, my eyes tightly shut as I shook my head, my body was gradually losing itself. 

Suddenly, I heard footsteps behind me. 

“Dimitri!” A familiar voice called out to me and the footsteps drew closer. 

I couldn’t raise my head to look at the person’s face but I knew damn well who it was. 

“Dimitri.” 

“Talk to me.” 

“What’s wrong?” 

“I heard you scream!” 

“Dimitri!” She let out but my visions were suddenly becoming blur. The pain was indescribable and I knew that I was gradually losing my breath. 

-Dimitri!” A loud scream came forth and at once, deep darkness overwhelmed me. 

Abeeping sound woke me up. 

I opened my eyes to find myself in one of the rooms at the pack clinic. Leo stood, checking out my palm and I laid still wondering what’s happening.

What’s going on) Fisker and at once, I noticed Nora seated at other side of me. There was a deep worry on her facer 

*You are awake. She said, I could feel a sense of gratitude in her voice but everything was damn confusing to me.. 

“Why am I here?” I implored. 

Nora glanced at Leo and back at me. 

“You can’t remember?” Leo questioned. 

At first I wanted to speak but at once, the memory came flashing through and I couldn’t believe that I could survive the horrible pain that struck me hard. 

I knew what was going on. 

It’s the curse! 

The witch and my body are trying to let me know that my hours coming by and the thought of it sank me in great sorrow. 

1 laid back on the bed and looked away. 

“I need to be alone.” I said. 

“Why?” I heard Nora asked… 

I didn’t say a word, my heart was already crushed knowing that have a few months left. 

Fuck! 

How did my life get to this point? 

Why do I have to be hurt about death? 

Why now? 

I am still a very young vibrant king in my early thirties, I can’t be worried about death now, never! 

“Dimitri, please, speak to me. What’s wrong?” 

Leon stood silent watching us. 

“You have to leave.” 

“But_” 

I was pissed and turned to her at once, not hiding my disgust. “Can you just leave? Get the fuck out of this room! Why can’t you obey my instructions? Huh? Tell me! When I tell you to do something, you fucking do it and don’t try to push your words on me, now, leave!” I yelled pointing at the open door. 

Nora froze in shock at my utterance. Anger swept over her stunned face and without a word, she got up on her feet and headed for the door. 

Guilt swept through me. 

“Nora” I called out. 

“Dimitri!” A sudden different voice called out behind the door. Ar once, a red–haired lady rushed into the room and before I could utter a word, she threw her hands all over me.

Chapter 17 

“Anissa?” 1 mumbled, sinprived to see her. 

Anissa let go of me but her sharp green eyes didn’t leave me as the stared at me. 

Nora stood at the door, watching us. 

“Oh Dimitri, I rushed here as soon as I heard the news. What happened to you? Why are you here?” She asked placing a hand on my shoulder. 

I was dumbfounded. 

“Anissa?” My brows furred. “I never knew that you were in the peek, I haven’t seen you ever since the day I was crowned king. 

Anissa and I were childhood friends, so close that our parents thought that we were going to be future mates, 

Anissa laughed, her perfect set of white teeth flashed at me. She placed her hand on my face. 

“Come on, I have been in the kingdom for the past two days, I planned on coming tomorrow but as soon as I heard what happened. I had to rush in.” Her eyes narrowed and she scanned my body, her hands on my chest. 

Speechless. 1 looked up. Annisa’s eyes followed me as we looked at Nora who appeared like she wanted to go away. 

“Nora, meet Anissa. Anissa, meet Nora, my mate.” I introduced myself and Alissa frowned. 

“Your mate? I thought that bitch was dead.” She spat.. 

Nora didn’t look pleased at her statement. 

I felt very uncomfortable. 

That’s Cassandra. Nora is my new mate.” I said. 

Anissa raises a brow and turns to Nora. “Oh really? Is that so?” She scoffed and looked at me. “Doesn’t she look too shabby for a reputable king like you? Come on Dimitri, you should have chosen someone more prettier and who can give you a handsome heir. Merely looking at this lady. I doubt if she has what it is to be the queen of this kingdom.” 

Nora’s face turned red in anger, at once, she walked away leaving 1 together with Anissa. 

My face furred. “What was the meaning of that Anissa? Why will you speak to her in such a way, right in her presence?” 

Anissa laughed. “Oh, come on, Dimitri. You get upset over nothing. I just wanted to brighten up the atmosphere, what’s wrong in doing that?” 

I frowned deeper. 

“Don’t worry, I will go and spe 

ak to her. You better get well soon, you owe me that.” She winked getting up on her feet and with a smile on her face she 

walked out of the ward.
