Chapter 57: Must Avenge this!

He grabbed her neck as he tried to make her stop talking.

Kate couldn’t believe that she was about to get strangled as she bit his hands so deeply while trying to hard to breathe.

Kate was already feeling so suffocated that she kicked him several time to free herself.

This monster!

When she felt like she was going to end up dying in the hand of her worst enemy, she let out a curse.

Thomas smiled evily as he thought it would not be a bad thing to finish up one of his biggest troubles on earth, but unexpectedly, he felt strong kicks against his back that sent him flying towards the other end shockingly to him.

Kate froze.

What just happened?

Before they could process everything that was happening, the guards responsible for the fatal kicks disappeared once again.

Cass had hired secret bodyguards who watches over Kate, while Andre also made him hire for Anita as well, but they had no idea about it and they couldn’t see their faces.

It was part of the law of the company they got hired from.

They knew when trouble between Kate and Thomas started, but they could not show up. It took them the last minute to be able to come to Kate’s rescue at the last moment and disappear again.

When Thomas stood up from the floor, he looked around as he tried to check who had the guts to throw him off guard like that. He felt so insulted as he looked around, but no sign.

Looking so angry, he looked deeply at Kate with deadly eyes.

Kate wanted to get scared, but there was no need. She had never been afraid of evil. Just like the rest, she would face Thomas.

How could someone be so bad? She thought.

Thomas ran towards her with speed to assualt her.

When he got to her, he raised his fist to punch her in the face when he felt something penetrate his skin.

It was so intense and sharp with a thick pain that his hand stopped midair.

He froze in shock.

What just happened?

Kate was already expecting to get hit by a man again when she saw him lift his hand up.

She closed her eyes as she tried to avoid it.

Thomas knew what just happened.

A bullet had just pierced right into his skin.

With the help of his second hand, he tried to help the other hand down.

Blood was already being seen as he tried to stay strong.

When Kate saw blood dripping out of his flesh, she froze.

It was unexpected.

But she had not heard any sound of a bullet.

It only meant one thing!

There were snippers around.

But how?

Who hired them?

Wasn’t she just an ordinary girl?

Thomas knew she already understood what had just happened as he tried to search for answers in her eyes.

“Don’t look at me. In as much as I am not aware of this, it seems like someone just crossed my boundary and had to get punished. I think you deserve it and whoever did this a super good job. So, get lost!” she said and walked closer to him, this time, she was confident that she was safe as she stared at him.

“Do you know that you are a police man which give me the opportunity to sue your ass for coming in to harass me? Now, who owns here or Anita? Me or you? I need you to get your ass out of here right now. Do you understand?”

Thomas was stunned.

She was right though. He was a cop and was supposed to protect instead of terrorizing, but he never joined the force to protect someone other than his syndicate. He was not interested in the lives of any fucking citizens, but he couldn’t say it out.

He needed to take care of his arm that is injured and uproot the bullet in it.

Standing up, he rushed to his car and drove off.

Kate was so pissed when he left at first, but on a second thought, her feelings changed. She just discovered that she had protection.

Smiling, she looked around to see if she was going to see any sign of her secret guards, but she didn’t and then she became curious.

Happily, she walked in and shut the door.

When she walked in, she picked up her phone and called Anita’s number, but immediately it rang, she heard the sound of a car coming towards the apartment. It was then she realized that she had arrived home.

She held her chest in relief as she quickly rounded up the cooking and had it served before they would come in.

Cass had increased his driving pace when the security he had hired messaged him that Thomas had visited Kate.

When he had increased his pace, Andre sensed that something would be wrong at home, so he signaled to Cass, who forwarded the message he had received to him.

Cass was always up to date about everyone surrounding Kate for her security sake. She wasn’t so influential in the state yet, she had enemies on par with the influencers in the state.

When they got in, Anita sensed that something must have gone wrong but couldn’t point her fingers on it.

“Welcome guys!” Kate greeted them and took their responses happily.

Cass wondered why and how she still managed to smile so wholeheartedly after what she had just experienced.

It was then he realized that she loved to protect Anita’s feeling a lot.

“I made dinner. I guess having an early dinner doesn’t hurt.” she said aloud and laughed.

Anita forgot about how she was feeling around the environment as she then focused on her interesting girlfriend.

“Hmmm you made my favourite.” she said solid and walked hastily to the dining table.
