Chapter 50: Officer Eric vii

Kate finally woke up and managed to open the door, but when she came out, she didn’t see anyone.

She froze.

Was she home alone?

She got scared.

She couldn’t believe she was already so scared for her life because of Liam because she could now feel that he actually lied about loving her.

Cass got out of the kitchen only to find Kate carried away in her thought. He smiled and walked to her.

“Hey!” he said as he touched her shoulders.

Kate jumped up, obviously startled, but when she saw that it was Cass, she came down, holding her chest in relief.

Cass froze.

What the heck was going on?

He had never thought that she would ever be this affected.

“What’s wrong?” he asked her.

Pissed, she didn’t say anything, but it didn’t take long for her to hug him as she sobbed.

“I’m scared.” she sobbed.

“You don’t have to be. I am here.” he replied her with a tight hug.

“But my life is at stake. Listen Cass, I need you to help me since Anita is yet to be found. Please I need to sue Liam. He placed my life at risk and I am so damn scared. What if I had died due to those things he made me do. This guy made me crazy for sex. I knew something was not right, so I need to do something right now.” she pleaded with Cass.

“It’s fine. I’m here when ever you need me.” Cass had no option but to give her hope and strength.

It was already midnight by the time Anita heard the four being opened. She sat up immediately with her eyes facing the floor. She had never thought of looking up at them. She was damn scared.

When they walked in, the leader asked them to bring her out which they did by grabbing her forcefully out of the room.

Their fingers rugged deep into her skinned as she hissed in pain. She couldn’t speak out or plead and that really impressed the kidnappers.

She was unlike those that would not keep their mouth shut thereby almost ruining things for them.

In the next minute, Anita found herself in a vehicle with them.

Where were they taking her to?

Home?

Had the police threatened them?

She couldn’t process everything that was passing through her mind, so she fell asleep again.

When they got to their location, they hid her in a trash can very far away and behind their vehicle after they stepped down.

They then left her there and walked forward to complete their deal with Thomas.

But Thomas and his men could not be found to process their deal

Have they been tricked?

It was already midnight and no one could be found outside except them.

“I can’t believe my life. Oh God!” she cried silently.

Thomas had long finished with his people in this underground factory.

He had applauded them for being able to produce an understandable amount of drugs for his enemies. He felt happy that he was able to have Doctor Q to himself.

It also seemed to him that Doctor Q would never ever dream or think about leaving the laboratory as he thought about making him stay there till he is no longer needed.

He knew that the syndicate holding Anita hostage would be waiting and were probably already loading their patience with them.

He stopped about ten minutes far away from the said location and ordered his men to deliver the drugs at the exact location and bring his girlfriend in exchange.

There was no way he would get there. He was aware of how many enemies he had and was very unwilling to risk it all.

When they got there, they saw signs of some men with their guns from a distance, so they stopped and got their bullets ready.

It was an eye for an eye.

Since they succeeded in capturing someone important to their second in command, they should also be ready because the next second could be their turn and it could turn out real bad for them.

Some of them alighted from the car and offloaded three casket that contained illegal drugs.

They pushed it to the spot they were supposed to and waited for few minutes so that their opponent would receive it, but in the next minute, they didn’t see any sign of them anymore.

The whole syndicate they felt their presence earlier was no where to be be found anymore and it felt like a joke to them.

Pissed they called Thomas to report it to him.

“I think they are mad.” he replied as he chewed his gum, “well since they are not serious, bring back out goods. If I were to sell those quality goods, it would worth quite a fortune.” he continued and stopped talking when he realized that no one was on the other end.

“What the fuck!” he said and ended it to leave the environment with his Car.

On the other side, Thomas people stood dumbstruck as they felt floored. They knew it was over for them as the police surrounded them in group. The amount of police men who surrounded them could not be counted even if they took their time to at that point.

But how?

How did they get there?

As they looked on in shock, a tall and huge young man walked in with ride. His aura smelled honesty, discipline and dignity. As he came close, they eyes widened more in shock.

Their syndicate had used their connection to ensure that this man leaved the public’s sight so as to gain space for Thomas, but what were they seeing now?

Was he not dead?

Retired?

Out of the continent?

So many different stories had been told about him when he left, but no one knew the real truth including the syndicate that wanted him out of their way.
