Chapter 219
Chapter 219
Brand Ambassador for Life?
Gwendolyn pursed her red lips, her gaze locked on the video playing before her.
The TV host gushed, “Ms. Hamilton, you’re remarkable! Since the inception of the Stellar Crescent Foundation, you’ve been its spokesperson, and you were so young back then. We’re all curious how you’ve become the lifetime ambassador for the foundation?”
Selina blushed slightly, replying, “Actually, the foundation was created for me.”
“The Stellar Crescent‘ in the name has a double meaning. One is from my name, and the other is a nod to the spot where the silent founder and I had our little romantic escapade. So, that’s why it’s called the Stellar Crescent Foundation.”
The host exclaimed with an air of drama, “Wow! That’s incredibly romantic! So, because your love story began in Crescent Village, does the foundation primarily support the villagers there? And can we know who this mysterious founder is?”
“No, I’m afraid not. I’ve promised to keep that secret. But I can share another little scoop. That famous healer’s apprentice also got support from our foundation.”
She flashed a sweet smile at the camera.
“My goodness! That makes you a guardian angel to this healer’s apprentice, Ms. Hamilton!”
Gwendolyn felt a buzzing in her ears, and her fingers tensed to the point of stiffness.
The things she believed in and the life she was grateful for were all fruits of Howard and Selina’s tender romance.
Without Selina, there would be no Stellar Crescent Foundation or perhaps no bright future for Gwendolyn.
It was her redemption for the first half of her life!
Something crucial seemed to be crumbling in the depths of her soul, dissolving into nothingness.
Sandra continued to gossip, “So the Stellar Crescent Foundation was established for Selina. That mysterious founder must love her a lot. I wonder who he is.”
Gwendolyn’s fingers trembled, her palms cold as ice.
I know who it is,” she said quietly.
Sandra suddenly sensed something amiss and quickly backtracked, “Selina must be making it up, you know, for publicity!”
Gwendolyn managed a bitter smile and shook her head.
“Gwendolyn, Howard is a man of integrity! He would never play two sides. Call him now and set your mind at ease,” Sandra said candidly, always one to speak her mind. “Once you’ve talked to him, you’ll feel better.”
She even snatched Gwendolyn’s phone, turned off the video, and dialed Howard’s number.
“Sandra, you shouldn’t…” Gwendolyn began, but it was too late.
“Between husband and wife, there should be no secrets,” Sandra remarked, puzzled by the dial tone, “Why is his phone off?”
Gwendolyn explained, “I was trying to tell you he’s on a business trip. He’s probably on a plane right now and can’t answer.”
She took her phone, squeezed a smile, and said, “Thank you. I’ll call Howard.”
A cry of alarm suddenly echoed at the hospital entrance, followed by the screeching of a car engine. A sports car rammed into a barricade and injured several pedestrians. Its high beams blazed in broad daylight as it sped toward Gwendolyn’s direction.
The woman in the driver’s seat was disheveled, her face twisted like a demon straight from hell. The car’s speedometer hit 180 miles per hour!
“Crazy woman!”
“The car’s out of control and getting out of the way! Where’s security”
“Call the police!”
“Sandra!” Gwendolyn pushed Sandra out of harm’s way.
“Gwendolyn, get out of there!” Sandra fell to the ground, watching the car barrel toward Gwendolyn. The high beams blinded her.
Bang! The roar of an explosion erupted as the car blew a tire, skidded, and narrowly missed Gwendolyn, crashing into the hospital’s flowerbed instead.
Security pulled Vivien from the car, their tone stern, “Driving under the influence? Don’t you know this is a hospital?” Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Police! We have a malicious hit–and–run!”
“Gwendolyn!” Vivien’s features were contorted with rage as she screamed, “You won’t get away with this!”

Helping a shaky Gwendolyn to her feet, Sandra asked worriedly, “Are you okay? Isn’t that your stepsister?”
Gwendolyn shook her head, stepped toward Vivien, and looked straight into her bloodshot eyes. “Vivien, do you want me dead?”
