Chapter 218
Chapter 218
“Grab the moment and hold it dear,” his words lingered in the air, a murmured promise that seemed to hang between them. Gwendolyn looked up, her gaze locking with his, and the flames of desire she found there were nearly palpable, restrained only by his formidable will.
She shook her head slightly, a playful gesture, her fingertips tracing a careless path across his firm chest.
Without a need for words, his fervent kiss found her slender, smooth neck.
She tilted her head back, surrendering to his whims and the heat of the moment.
It took a while before the temperature in the car subsided.
Her lips swelled with kisses, her neck marked with faint traces of his passion.
His suit was crumpled, tossed aside carelessly. He yanked a flash drive from his laptop and declared possession.
“I’m confiscating this little number,” he said.
Gwendolyn clutched at her clothes, hesitating as she glanced at the object, at a loss for what to return to
Sandra.
Howard misunderstood her hesitation and asked, “Can’t part with it?”
She shook her head vigorously, denying, “No, not at all.”
He chuckled lightly. “If you can’t bear to lose it, keep it. It’s no fun watching alone. From now on, we’ll study together.”
Gwendolyn felt Howard had got the wrong picture of her. Howard surely thought she was into some filthy
stuff.
Cliff had been out for smoke for half an hour before returning to the car, driving them to the quaint Chadwick family villa.
Marina greeted them, announcing, “Dinner’s ready, and Mr. Chadwick’s luggage is packed.”
“Luggage?” Gwendolyn asked, puzzled.
Howard explained, “I have a business trip tomorrow. I’ll be gone for three or four days. If you need anything, Nathan will handle it.” Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
“So sudden?” Her smile faded, her grip on his sleeve conveying her reluctance. “Where to?”
“The Capital. I’ve got a big deal to close.”
She felt her chest tight at the thought of not seeing Howard for days.
He ruffled her hair affectionately and suggested, “Let’s have dinner.”
Gwendolyn nodded obediently.
Marina teased, “Mrs. Chadwick can’t be apart from Mr. Chadwick for even a moment. Why don’t you take leave and go with him?”
“Marina! I have work,” Gwendolyn replied, slightly embarrassed.

“Mr. Chadwick, you still owe Mrs. Chadwick a honeymoon,” Marina pointed out. “What newlywed couple skips their honeymoon? You should make it right once you’re back from your trip.”
Howard squeezed Gwendolyn’s hand and agreed, “Indeed.”
The following morning came soon.
Gwendolyn woke to find Howard’s side of the bed cold and empty. The spacious villa felt suddenly lonely.
She realized then how deeply this man had embedded himself in her heart.
She ate the breakfast Marina had prepared, but her appetite was missing. Cliff drove her to the hospital,
where she arrived in a daze.
“Gwendolyn!”
Sandra called out with her usual vibrancy, jogging toward her.
“Morning, Sandra,” Gwendolyn mustered the energy to greet her friend.
“Gwendolyn, did you catch the news today?” Sandra bubbled with excitement. “You won’t believe what’s happening at Stellar Crescent Foundation…”
Gwendolyn pulled out her phone, and the top news push notification was a link to the Stellar Crescent Foundation’s latest interview.
She clicked the link, playing the video.
The high–definition clip revealed Selina’s immaculate face, the face of Stellar Crescent Foundation’s lifelong ambassador and principal dancer of the international ballet company.
Smiling into the camera, she greeted, “Hi, everyone. I’m Selina, the face of Stellar Crescent Foundation and your principal ballerina.”
