Alpha Carl sighed in frustration. His mom would definitely keep on talking about his ex girlfriend until he grows gray hairs.

“So tell me about Meagan. How long have you known her?” Mrs Gabriella Damien asked.

“Seven.. no.. I think eight weeks now.” Carl stuttered.

“You are not even sure. Carl, are you even ready for this mating?” Mrs Gabriella Damien asked again.

“Mom please. Can you let me answer one question before you bring up another one?” Carl rubbed his temples as he made his way towards the kitchen.

“Well.. I supposed you should have prepared a story to tell me about your newly found mate.” Mrs Gabriella retorted.

“I do. But only if you will let me talk without asking a question.” Carl replied.

Mrs Gabriella Damien could be tough, cold and unemotional but she surely cares a whole lot about her son. And sometimes, she doesn’t seem to agree with her son which always lead to them arguing a lot but she loves him so much.

“Okay. Tell me about her.” She spoke up after some seconds of silence.

“Like I said, her name is Meagan Swift. She is a medical doctor and a human. You don’t have any problem with my mate being a human right?” He asked.

“I don’t care. I don’t have a problem with it if you have figured things out with her.” Mrs Gabriella Damien responded.

“We met at the last full wolf moon celebration. And she is Hazel’s best friend.” He recounted how he had met Meagan and why he is out of the pack to convince her to be his mate.Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

“You think she is the right woman for you?” She demanded.

“Yes mom. Meagan said yes to my proposal. She is willing to let go of her normal life as a human to be with me at the pack. I expected good result when I set out to meet her in town but I didn’t think she would make such a sacrifice. My wolf also seems to be at peace which means it wants her too. No doubt, I have made the right choice.” Alpha Carl sounded excited over the phone and his mom could see it.

He wanted to hear her opinion about Meagan before sharing the great news. He would definitely lose his patience if his mother decided to play high and mighty and doesn’t approve of him to mate Meagan.

Mrs Gabriella Damien was silent and for a second alpha Carl’s heart beat faster. But then she spoke up when he was about to say more nice things about his mate.

“Well.. I think I already like the woman you have chosen to be your mate.”

Alpha Carl couldn’t hold back the sigh of relief that escaped through his nostrils. “Really?” He muttered.

Mrs Gabriella sighed. “Yes. I can sense how happy you are at the moment. It must have been hard for her to make such a sacrifice. And I am happy to hear that you found someone like her.” Her voice dripped happiness.

“Well that’s not all. There is one more thing you must know.” Alpha Carl smiled as his gaze flickered on the pregnancy kit on the kitchen island.

“What’s that?” She demanded.

“Meagan is pregnant.” He replied.

“What?!” Mrs Gabriella Damien gasped out. It was obvious that she was shocked by the revelation.

“Yes. I found out that she is some weeks gone. I am going to be a father!” Alpha Carl chuckled.

“Oh my goodness.. I am..” Mrs Gabriella Damien voice trailed off.

“You are going to be a grandma soon!” Alpha Carl completed her intended sentence.

There was a long silence on the other end of the phone so long that he pulled the phone away from his ear to make sure his mom hadn’t hung up on him. But soon he heard her sniffling over the phone.

“Mom, are you crying?” He whispered.

“No.. no.. I am fine. I am-” her voice broke off again.

Alpha Carl knew he had reached his mom in a way she never expected. This tough and strong woman was in shock because she can’t believe that her son was going to be a father soon and she would be a grandma. It was like a dream come true for her.

“I am so happy right now.” She sniffled.

“I am the happiest man on earth. I feel so much at peace. I even had an eight hours sleep today.” Alpha Carl picked up the pregnancy test kit.

Mrs Gabriella Damien cleared her throat. “When am I going to meet Meagan? Are you bringing her to the pack before the week runs out?” She questioned frantically.

“I am taking things slowly.. one step at a time. I just asked her to be my mate today without a ring. I need to arrange a proper proposal.” Alpha Carl dropped the kit back on the island.

“Listen to me, you don’t have to take things slow because she is pregnant. Buy her a ring, meet with her parents while you are in town and agree on a date for the wedding. It has to be done before the baby bump becomes too obvious.” Mrs Gabriella Damien advised.

Alpha Carl Damien didn’t want to move too quickly on Meagan but his mother was right. So he concluded that he would talk to Meagan about meeting her family.

“Do you understand what I am trying to say?” She asked.

“Yes mom. I’ll talk to Meagan about it.” He replied.

“Let me know about your plans after having the discussion with her. I need to make my arrangement of visiting the pack to see her.” Mrs Gabriella Damien said.

“Perhaps, is this enough reason to move back into the pack?” Alpha Carl asked.

“I think.. this is enough reason. I have to be around to take care of your mate and nurse your pup for a few months.” Mrs Gabriella Damien responded.

Alpha Carl chuckled. “I’ll see you soon, Mrs Gabriella Damien.” His mother giggled and hummed a response before she disconnected the call.

Alpha Carl opened the cupboard to take out some utensils. He skimmed through his cellphone contemplating on calling his beta or his wife. This news would definitely make them happy.

He opened his WhatsApp and took a picture of the test kit. “She said yes and we are becoming parents soon too.” He typed and sent it to Julius and Hazel.

Alpha Carl dropped the cellphone on the island and set to prepared dinner before Meagan wakes up. She must be really tired.

A smile crossed his face as his mind drifted back to their love making.
