NEW YORK: IN MEAGAN’S HOME

Alpha Carl Damien was surprised to hear the decision she had made. What if he hadn’t decide to come and find her? Then she would have left without a word to anyone or even leaving behind traces that could help find her. Meagan was walking away from her life.

“I am a wolf.. an alpha to a pack and it is only normal to have so many responsibilities which I have accepted. But Meagan, don’t ever think that you would be a burden to me. And like I said if you don’t feel comfortable moving into the pack, we can be here or better still get a bigger space and be together till you have come to a conclusion.” Alpha Carl replied.

He wasn’t going to make the same mistake again-the mistake of losing a mate. This has to work out this time. He was trying to make sure that Meagan doesn’t have to give up everything for him. He wasn’t going to lose Meagan the way he had lost Madison.

“Don’t make it sound so easy. The pack and it’s members needs you more than I do. And it would be selfish of me to keep you here.” Meagan paused to catch her breathe as she was still trapped between his arms with her head resting on his solid chest.

“Meagan, I am trying to make sure that my responsibilities to the pack doesn’t scare you away from me. I want this to go well.” Alpha Carl whispered.

“If I accept you then I have to embrace the pack too. And as a Luna, it is my obligation to protect the pack and its members.” Meagan stopped again but this time she waited for his reaction to her words.

Alpha Carl was confused. He pulled away and searched her face. “Meagan.. you just said as a Luna it is my obligation.. no your obligation to protect the pack and its members. Is.. is that a yes?” He asked.

“I am willing to make a change in my plans.” Meagan replied.

His stomach twitched at her words. “Are you saying that.. you have accepted to be my mate?” He asked again to be sure of her response.

“What else do I need to say? How do I need to say it? A yes? I already said that I am willing to make a change in my plans.. for things to work out between us.” Meagan answered.

An endearing smile broke out on his face. Alpha Carl had hope for things to go well but he didn’t expect her response would be too soon.

“It doesn’t if I am a human and you are wolf. I have seen our kinds coming together to make a great bond. Carl, I really appreciate that you are willing to make sacrifices to make things work out but let me be the one making the sacrifices this time.” Meagan said in a tighter whisper.

Alpha Carl reached out for her face and his fingers caressed her cheeks. “It doesn’t matter.. where I am.. I can always do better.” Meagan sniffled as tears clouded her vision again.

Meagan wanted to relieve him of his responsibilities this time. Alpha Carl knew she was stepping into make the sacrifices just to make things work out for them. All his life, he has always been the one making the most sacrifices, he has always been the one to give up his desires, to give everything just to make others happy and comfortable.

“Carl, I have a mapped out plan for my life but I have..” Her voice broke off as tears streamed down her face.

“But I have come to realize that I can make it happen anywhere.. and it doesn’t have to be in New York.” She completed her intended statement.

Alpha Carl wiped her tears with his fingers tips as he nodded in agreement to her words. “Yes, you can practice your profession in the pack infirmary.” He hugged her. “I can set up a pool right in front of our home and I can afford the most expensive car and every other things if that’s what you mean by a mapped out plan.” He purred into her ears as his hands dropped down to her waist.

Meagan lifted her head from his chest to look up at him. A smirk was displayed on his lips. “Hazel told you about my plans?” She arched her eyebrows.

“Yeah.. she did after I threatened to rip off her head.” Alpha Carl replied.

“A taste of her own medicine huh?” A smile crawl on her face.

Alpha Carl Damien chuckled at her words. He gestured to her to lean back on his chest. “I am the happiest man on earth today. I thought you weren’t going to accept me but I was pretty determined. I have a strong willed wolf and I said to myself, I am not going anywhere until she says yes to me.” He paused.

“You have given me a good reason to say yes to your proposal.” Meagan replied.

“I should have prepared better. Why didn’t I bring a ring along with me if I was expecting good result to come out of my proposal?” Alpha Carl scolded himself.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

Meagan giggled. “Is it too late?” He asked.

“No, it is not too late. We still have enough time to buy an engagement ring.” She answered.

The mention of an engagement ring made his stomach clench in excitement. He pulled her away from him.

“We still have time.” Alpha Carl agreed as he held her hands.

Meagan nodded in agreement. “Thank you for accepting me.” Alpha Carl leaned in and placed a kiss on her forehead. “We can do this. I mean us being mates.” He said.

Meagan shook her head slowly. “Yes we can do it.” She replied.

They were both convinced that mating each other could really work out between them. Meagan clung onto him and leaned up on her toes to place a kiss on his lips quickly.

“Mates always share a kiss after acceptance right?” She mumbled.

Alpha Carl Damien let out a low growl. His wolf did that as it was jumping around in excitement within its owner.

“Yes, mates do share a kiss after acceptance but not this one you just did.” He replied looking straight into her eyes.

Alpha Carl was almost losing his control as his gaze dropped to her lips. “I missed you so much.” He admitted.

“Likewise.” She responded.

And then he pressed his lips on hers pulling her closer to his body. Meagan wrapped her arms around his neck lifting her mouth up so he could explore it. He lifted her until she was position on the kitchen’s island. And they were there, kissing, sucking, biting until their lips was swollen. Meagan pulled away to catch her breathe as Carl placed his forehead on hers. Damn! He had missed doing this with her.

“I love you, Meagan Swift.” Alpha Carl Damien confessed.

The last words to make her believe he was ready to go on this life time journey with her.
