NEW YORK: IN MEAGAN’S HOME

All of a sudden Meagan remembered that the pregnancy test kit was in the fridge where he would get the bottle of water.

“Carl!” She coughed and jumped to her feet and rushed into the kitchen.

It was too late to stop alpha Carl Damien because the first thing his eyes caught was the pregnancy test kit. He furrowed his eyebrows as a knowing look registered on his face. He opened it and then saw the strip that indicated two red lines.

He was stunned by the realization that Meagan could be carrying his child.

“Carl-” Meagan stopped on track when he closed the fridge and she saw the kit in his hand.

“Meagan..” Alpha Carl paused to swallow hard. Perhaps did she run a pregnancy test for someone else? He mused.

“Are you pregnant?” Carl asked in tight whisper.

The tears that had threatened to spill all this while dropped down her cheeks immediately.

Alpha Carl looked at the test strip and then back at her. “You are pregnant. You are carrying my child.” He sounded so sure that the child was his own when she had been the one to doubt if he would ever believe her.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

Meagan couldn’t hide or lie anymore. She has been caught by him.

“Say something, Meagan.” His voice and eyes pleaded with her. His mind was spinning as he took slow steps towards her.

“Yes.. I am pregnant.” She shook her head.

“How long have you known about it?” Alpha Carl stopped right in front of her. Something in him increased his hope that he could succeed in persuading Meagan to be with him.

“I didn’t realize it until few days ago.” She muttered without meeting his gaze.

“Wait, is it before or after I sent you a text?” Alpha Carl asked.

“I found out few days before you texted me.” Meagan answered.

“But I thought we used protection. So how-”

“In the shower and the day you sneaked into my room. I remember we didn’t use protection.” Meagan mumbled.

Alpha Carl Damien was still looking shocked. He had only visited her to ask her to be his mate but he just found out that she is pregnant. He couldn’t explain how he was feeling at that moment.

“Perhaps, is this the reason why you didn’t want to meet me? The reason why you don’t want to accept me?” He questioned.

Meagan didn’t look up at him. “I don’t want to be a burden to you. I just thought that you might doubt me and.. and you already have too much to handle at the pack.” She cried.

“You can never be a burden to me. Meagan, I understand you are scared. I know you have a lot doing here too and like I said I won’t disturb you. But now that you are carrying my child, I can move in here with you while Julius handles the pack. I’ll care of you until you are rest assured that I am indeed the one for you.” Alpha Carl Damien continued on his persuasive scheme.

Meagan’s head snapped up to look at the alpha. She thought she heard him wrongly. Isn’t the alpha supposed to be in the pack always?

“I trust Beta Julius enough to run the pack on my absence.” Alpha Carl Damien added as if he had read her mind.

More tears flowed from her eyes as realization hit her straight in the face. Alpha Carl Damien was offering to move away from his pack just to be with her? He was willing to walk away from his own life so she could be reassured that he would be by her side.

“Carl, aren’t.. you suppose to be at the pack to take care of your members?” Meagan asked.

Carl stepped closer to her. “Listen Meagan, I am not abandoning my position as the alpha to be with you. My responsibility remains and loyalty to the pack is unshaken but what’s an alpha without a Luna? If I have to leave the pack for a while to find my mate then I must do it.” He said with a small smile on his face.

The look on her face gave him a glint of hope that she might eventually succumb to him.

“Carl.. you are offering too much just to be with me. I-”

He interrupted her. “You are important to me. You and the baby. Meagan, you don’t expect me to stand back or walk away after finding out that you are carrying my child. Look, we don’t have to rush. And like I said, I can stay here till you make a decision.” He gave her hand a small squeeze.

They still have plenty of time to decide things. Alpha Carl’s mind was made up, he would stay around to convince Meagan that they truly belong together. He knew assurance was all Meagan needed to come out of darkness. An assurance that he could be a shoulder to lean on would convince her to break down those walls around her heart.

“Listen, I’ll give you enough time to think about it.” Carl said expecting her to say something too.

Enough time? Meagan thought. But she doesn’t need plenty of time to think about anything. Maybe this is fate telling her something.

Alpha Carl Damien tilted her face so he could look straight into her eyes. “Meagan, if you are still bent on rejecting me then I won’t have any choice than to bring in my pack members to come plead on my behalf.” He thought he saw a smile on her face or maybe he had imagined it in his head.

And instead of Meagan to say a word to him, she stepped closer and embraced him. She doesn’t need all the time in the world to think about it. If alpha Carl Damien was willing to stay away from his pack to be with her then she could also give courting him a chance. If she had made a decision to run away from the life she had set up for herself here then she can as well run into moon stone pack. She didn’t expect that the alpha could make such offer but it had managed to convince her that he loves her and meant everything he said.

“I am sorry for not telling you about the baby. I had every chance to let you know about it but I made a decision to move far away and raise the child alone because I don’t want to be a burden to you. I decided to quit my job and be where no one would ever find me.” Meagan said in a calm tone as she managed to blink back more tears.
