THE NEXT DAY

I sat on the mini throne attending to paper works and tasks running my kingdom requires. And all of a sudden I felt a sharp pain in my heart as if I have just been stabbed but by an unknown force. It was horrid and sharp and it quickly awakened my grumpy wolf. Memories of the night with Mia flashed through my mind’s eye and recalled every words she had said to me. Pictures of my mate flooded my mind as I grabbed my chest and yelled out in pains. What’s wrong with my mate?

“My alpha king!” Eunuch Cole rushed to me.

I groaned in pains as I fell down on my kneels. “Guards!” Eunuch Cole screamed out.

Two warriors rushed into the throne hall. “Alpha king!” They both gasped out in shock.

“Please help him up.” Eunuch Cole instructed them.

The guards came to the moon throne and set me back in it. “Let us take him to the infirmary!” Eunuch Cole said in a panicked tone.

But I stopped them when they tried to carry me again. “Mia…” I whispered to eunuch Cole.

“Mia?” Eunuch Cole repeated with a snapped eyebrows. “My alpha king isn’t that the alpha of crescent pack?”

I nodded. “Yes.. I.. I.. feel she is -” my words failed me again as I winced in pain.

“My alpha king.. please permit us to take you to the infirmary.” Eunuch Cole cried out.

“My alpha king! My Lord! Your highness!” General Cullen also came rushing into the hall into the throne hall.

“What is it general Cullen? Why are you in such a rush like someone who has just seen a ghost?” Eunuch Cole demanded.

“I have got bad news!” General Cullen panted.

“Bad news? What bad news?” Eunuch Cole asked with panic filled in his eyes.

I could see the way the eunuch was shaking like a scaredy-cat. The pain in my chest subsided a little and I readjusted my position to focus on what Cullen has to say.

“Bad news my alpha king!” Cullen cried out.

I leaned forward from the throne. “Speak up Cullen!” I snarled in a commanding tone.

“The Gamma from Crescent pack sent a message saying that a group of rogues invaded the Crescent pack at dawn and also abducted the alpha and killed many pack members!” General Cullen rushed out his words.

My eyes widened and my jaw dropped immediately. “Your Highness.. this news explains your pain.. the alpha of crescent pack must be in great danger.” Eunuch Cole added quickly.

“The future luna is in the hands of the rogues and I am afraid that they might do something terrible to her.” General Cullen said.

I clenched his fists and seethe my teeth in anger. “Who could have sent rogues to invade Crescent pack and abduct the alpha.” I asked no one in particular as I expressed my thought out loudly.

“My alpha king what if this is a plan by the enemy!” Eunuch Cole cried out at the fear that something bad might happen to my mate.

‘Our mate is in great danger we have to save her from the hands of the evil rogues who abducted her!’ My wolf jumped in fear.

‘What if the rogues ends up killing her? What if they keep torturing her?’ My wolf bombarded me with scary questions about the possibility of our mate getting killed by rogues.

“No! That can’t happen!” I said to my wolf with a grimace.

“What do we do my alpha king? We have to save our Luna.” Eunuch Cole cried out again.

I clenched his fist and tightened my jawline.”We’ll have to prepare our best men!” I stood up from the moon throne and motioned out of the throne hall

“We need to find those rogues who abducted the alpha of crescent pack and it may also lead us to the enemy we have been investigating for months now.” General Cullen suggested.

“Prepare our best men.” I was heading towards my chambers while General Cullen followed closely behind me. Eunuch Cole walked at a close distance too.

“How many men should I prepare?” General Cullen asked.

“Cullen, select the best thirty wolves, we will share them into three groups. The first groups will mount the boundaries that divides us with neighboring packs, the second group will need to find the one who sent rogues and the third group will work on saving the alpha of crescent pack.” I gave out instruction to the general.

“Yes… my alpha king.” General Cullen said to signify that he has noted everything.

“Tell beta Damien to see me in my chambers.” I ordered.

General Cullen bowed before rushing off immediately.

My lip drew back in a snarl. “What?!” I turned to face the eunuch in anger. “My mate is in danger! She is in the hands of the rogues and I am trying so hard not to image what those bastards would do to her if I don’t find her real soon!” I yelled. My wolf was also furious at the eunuch.

Eunuch Cole bowed his head immediately. “Forgive me alpha king for I also know how the mate instincts works. I am just concerned about you and our kingdom. What if the rogues comes around to invade the palace because you aren’t in it? What if this is the enemy’s plan to use your weakness against you just to lure you out of the kingdom?” Eunuch Cole expressed the questions that must be bothering his mind.

The eunuch was only trying to make me realize the dangers attached to leaving the kingdom unguarded.
